Been taking my pets here for 15 years now. Out of many many visits, I've only had 3 negative experiences. Just due to the bedside manner of the doctors we were seeing. Nobody's perfect. But these 3 just completely lacked compassion and understanding. Other than those 3, all the other docs have been great and I've never had a bad experience with the vet techs! Front desk staff is always busy but always friendly to me. We were there today for annual check up for my dog and cat. Dr Moore and Carlynn the vet tech were both great! The front lobby was quiet for a change. Its very helpful to have appointments instead of strictly walk ins! Thanks for all the wonderful care over the years! Keep it up!

This place is a nightmare. I’ve been here many times and every time they tell you the wait is an hour and it ends up being 4 hours or more. They’ve ruined my day for the last time. Every other vet in the area provides better service. Don’t torture yourself unless you want to spend the entire day waiting in your car.

I have never had a horrible experience here until today. My dog was scheduled for boarding with a bath and a nail trim. I booked this Appt 3 weeks ago and then confirmed it again yesterday. I go to take him in today only to be told he is not allowed to have a bath nor nail trim because he is “unpredictable”. No one called nor said a word of their decision to cancel a service I requested. To add insult to injury He has been prescribed meds for his anxiety by their own vet staff and if they would’ve checked his charts they would’ve seen it. Disappointed is an understatement and we will never return nor suggest their services.

Was very disappointed to hear the news from the girls up front that we will no longer be seeing Janice she was our favorite person up front she always remembered our pets name and always came to talk to them. She is the kindest gentle person always and always made us feel welcomed over the others in the front.

I could not get an appointment with them as they seem to be very in demand, keeping this in mind when I arrived they kindly informed me that their walk ins were a bit behind due to some emergencies that had come through. I waited for about an hour and a half with my cat. After our wait we were promptly cared for and our issues thoughtfully resolved. Regardless of the wait the care was prompt and the people kind. I can't really take anything off for the wait due to being throughly informed, and they were thoughtful to check on the condition that brought us in, in the first place.

This place is horrible. When you call as a
walk in they tell you to come in before 3pm to be seen. What they dont tell you is you wont be called till 3pm. I walked in 2 weeks ago at 8: 30am and was not seen till 4pm. Today I had appt.had to be put in as a walk in and still hadnt gotten seen. Its now 11am. 1on top of that I was attacked by a dog in the waiting room, the staff did notremove the dog. I HAD TO ASK FOR A BANDAID AND DISINFECTANT andi was still told to sit down and wait. Appt or no appointment this placeis horrible.

I appreciated the move to appointments so people aren’t waiting for regular service. The lobby is more calm and not so crowded sitting for ours. The problem is it is much harder to get them in the phone and the front desk staff act more stressed and have less patience. In all the years going there I have never seen so many tense conversations between customers and front desk staff.

My biggest concern is now EVERY simple procedure they take your dog out of the exam room and to the back. You can no longer accompany your pet for comfort. Even a simple vaccination they will likely take your dog out of the exam room to the back and you just sit in the exam room waiting. In the past they could do blood draws in the room as well where you could calm your pet. Not anymore. The exam rooms are more like waiting rooms for pet owners.

So far the vets have been nice and polite but my pets are family. I want to be there for them just as I would for family. My dogs never liked the vet, but now they are visibly terrified and come back trembling. Any pet owner can read the difference between stressed and terrified. In the past they would be stressed, but we could calm them down. With this change they are terrified and stressed out the rest of the day. All the signs of severe stress in our dogs are there. Whatever the reason, the change isn’t healthy for our dogs.

We hope things will improve during this transition but at this time my family is actively seeking a new vet where we can be included in the process.

This is the only vet I will go to. I started going here 12 years ago and when I came back to the area decided to use them again. I tried another vet in the area and was not impressed. The wait time can be a little long but now that they require appointments, it makes things so much easier. The staff is so kind and professional. The doctors are very knowledgeable and speak to your level of understanding. I will not trust my pets with anyone else.

Cayla is rude over the phone and in person. She refused to get the manager after she cursed me out. She hung up in my face when I called to speak to the manager. I think that says about her character

I have used this vet for over 25 years from when Dr. Dunn first started off the hwy in Belton and have followed him and then unfortunately he decided to retire and he had a partner Dr. Respondik and he was absolutely wonderful and this place was still awesome while under his ownership, then Dr. Respondik left and this place has gone downhill bad, everything they do is at least a minimum of an hour wait even with an appt and so unorganized and do.not care about their fur baby patients anymore. It’s all about the money. My old dog that is 14 years old ran out of his allergy medicine and it takes 2 days to get it filled and they really don’t care if he goes without or not, just told me I should of called it in sooner. When I was told by the vet to call them when he ran out and they would refill it since it was a new medicine. Well that didn’t happen so now he is going on his second day no medicine and they don’t even care. It’s like oh well he will have to wait until Monday. So I will be changing vets starting Monday, since these people don’t really care at all. There is only one vet there that is awesome and his name is Dr. Moon. But he is always so busy because that is the one every one request. So I hate leaving Dr. Moon but at this point I have no choice. So if you want a caring vet place that actually cares this is not the place to go. Because your time is not important to them at all. Neither are your fur babies. And they also charge a 75 dollar walk in fee now which is absurd. Most vets would of had my babies medicine ready so he didn’t have to suffer all weekend. I am very upset with them. And not to say that when you call you are always put on hold and they never come back to answer the phone

Although the staff is decent, I feel that this clinic is over worked. Being overworked, visits to them just kept getting more and more drawn out with the majority of the time spent in the lobby simply waiting. Appointments are so far out that going there for anything more than normal shots is just not worth it. It was not uncommon to see wait times of four plus hours.
My latest visit, before I just gave up with them, I checked my dog in with respiratory issues (they originally said checked in as an emergency) and was told their were nine people ahead of me. I was told to wait in my vehicle in case my dog had something contagious. I waited two and half hours, but never got called. I went in to check the status and was told.there was nine people ahead of me. I informed them that was the same number two and a half hours ago, which the reply was. "we had a lot of emergencies, one dog swallowed a chew toy".
This was a good facility, but they just took on more than they could handle. Rather than referring anyone elsewhere, they just had people wait. I have pulled my information from them and have not been back since. I'm just truly thankful nothing happened to my dog while waiting for them to do something.

After reading many reviews about long wait times, I decided to write a review so that people understand the upside to the way this clinic operates. I recently moved to the area two weeks ago and I have not been able to see a vet anywhere on Ft Hood, Killeen or Copperas Cove. Many are not accepting new patients and are booked out solid until late August. My dog had an ear infection that was only getting worse day after day of looking for care. Belton Vet took him in urgent care (the only vet that would see him same-day) and the wait wasn’t even an hour. I understand other days are different and May be longer but this clinic is offering a service to pets that no one else is. I am so grateful that they took us in and saw him immediately. The staff was super friendly, the clinic was very nice and clean and the vet was a total gem, sweetest lady ever. Thank you Belton vet, Bechkam is already feeling much better

TL;DR Convenience doesn't outweigh poor quality and questionable ethics. Under the guise of safety, clinic owners are in direct opposition to national vet associations and all 50 state health services rabies vaccination standards for an obvious money grab.

Our dogs including rescues have been under the care of BVC since 2016. Since this clinic was extremely close to home, had fair prices, and allowed walk-in visits, it seemed like a no-brainer. Unfortunately, we learned early on you would almost never see the same doctor twice as this clinic appears to be a revolving door for entry-level veterinarians. Still, for routine immunizations and heartworm, this wasn't a big deal. However, this became a problem with a belated dog when an ultrasound was misinterpreted. This was rectified after seeking specialized care via Texas A&M School of Vet Medicine but still left a bad taste in our mouth.

We value our dogs as members of our family and have spared little expense when it comes to their well-being. From ear infections to "extra" vaccinations like Bordatella and Influenza, we go out of our way to make sure our dogs are well cared for. However, their health maintenance was questioned at several points over the last few years leading to discussions with an office manager regarding their business practices.

Since 2011 rabies vaccinations in Bell County follow Texas State Health Services guidelines, every three years once rabies immunity is established, except at this clinic where they are required annually. This has been challenged by various groups over the years as "over-vaccinating. " There is no credible argument for annual vaccination other than to draw in business more regularly to be upsold other procedures and treatments. This clinic's owner is on record in 2009 fighting to keep the previous annual rabies standard but was ultimately defeated.

The American Veterinarian Medicine Association (AVMA), American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), CDC, as well as all 50 states recommend rabies vaccination as every three years after one year of age. As stated by the Texas Department of Health Services "states which have changed to a three-year interval did not experience an increase in the number of rabid dogs and cats. No correlation exists between a state's required vaccination interval and its incidence of rabid dogs and cats. "

It's unfortunate this clinic has chosen this hill to die on after thousands of dollars of veterinary care. Dr. David Joffrion was an absolute rock for our family during the euthanasia of our beloved dog. We will always be grateful for his compassion that day.
