Doctor Shrum and Hilton are great. The person doing to pre exam was great, billing and front desk are great but then I dealt with the staff in the optical area. Very disappointing. I asked 3 different employees in that area for an opinion and help selecting frames. I was told by two employees to take a selfie. The other lady just turned and walked to the back room. I should have left right then. When I found one frame I liked, one of the 4 staff members offered her opinion that the frames looked good on me. I selected frames for bifocals and computer glasses.
When the glasses came in they simply handed me the glasses. I’ve been wearing glasses for 40 years and I’ve never been handed glasses in a bag and dismissed? The opticians have always had me take a seat, checked and double checked they are correct and have been properly fitted. Although I was assured they had checked and the glasses were correct, the bifocals had to be returned and remade because I found a very obvious error they should have found. Had the exact same experience when I went back to pick up “corrected” bifocals. Just handed them to me. When I asked they be adjusted, they made one minor change, handed them back, again with no effort at all to fit them or make sure they are correct. I would have done as well with mail order glasses or Americas Best. I was so disgusted I left. I am now the proud owner of very expensive glasses that are still in the cases and plastic bags they came in. I am wearing my 6 year old script/frames because I don’t feel like dealing with them again. On that note, Dr Hilton told me I had been unable to adjust to these 6 year old bifocals because they had not been made properly. They came from this same location. Years and years of incorrectly made glasses. Thanks Berkeley! Might try the Cleveland location next time since I like the doctors but it is a 40 mile drive.

I had cataract surgery (left eye, this time) by Dr. Shrum and I can't tell you what a difference. Very professional and thorough, I will recommend him to my family and friends. By: Mona Gorman

The doctor was excellent! Both of his assistants were polite and knowledgeable. Even the ladies at the front desk were helpful. They are the friendliest people in the business!

I have been seeing Dr. Hilton at Berkeley Eye Center for years. As always, my visit this week was great. They were on time with my appointment, they got me in and out quickly, and the staff was very friendly especially Cassandra at check-out. Of course, Dr. Hilton was great as well. I was thinking about changing my type of contact lenses, and he spent the time to discuss that with me to ensure I made the right choice.

We love coming to Berkeley Eye Center to see Dr. Schrum! He is very thorough and answers any questions you may have. He is so patient with our kids. Also, everyone there is really sweet and makes us feel so special! I was the last of the Gonzalez Crew today! We all have healthy eyes.we will be back next year unless we need to come sooner!

First time visiting and Cassandra and Linda made my experience very nice. Will definitely be coming back.

Dr. Schrum is the best. He removed a cataract from my left eye.
Now I can see the golf ball no matter where I hit it. The staff is friendly and I have the highest confidence in Dr. Schrum.

The wait was super short and we got pulled back almost immediately and they took care of me. Ginger did my pre assessment and was extremely sweet. The doctor was great and all went smoothly.

It has been said the proof is in the pudding. I can say firsthand that they make good on the products they sell. On two occasions over the last year, stress cracks developed in my lens. Each time I brought them in the problem was acknowledged and immediately cared for each time. The employees were professional and courteous. I am extremely pleased with their customer service. I will continue to use them for future needs.
