Berni Vietnamese Restaurant, San Antonio TX

This is absolutely the best Asian food in San Antonio. The sauces are delicious. We have sampled over half the menu items and all were mouthwateringly excellent. The egg rolls are crispy, the soups are savory and the stir fries are perfectly done. The service is excellent. This is an amazing, outstanding restaurant.

First of all, I had the best pad thai in years. The noodles were well seasoned, not too sweet and the chicken was soo delicious, just perfectly cooked. The sweet & sour soup was good but the warm purple boba dessert was top notch. The best part was that those two items were complementary. I'm coming back for sure.

Just happened to stumble upon this place, really happy we stopped. Service was great and food was delicious.

Food was great especially the broth for the pho. It's a welcome sensation during this cold San Antonio night.

I have JUST found my favorite Pho spot. And let me tell you, I've been to about 10 of them here in San Antonio. Talk about Bliss!

Not like what it used to be pre-Covid
The vermicelli with pork and shrimp was flavorless and bland. Fish sauce also was bland.
Calamari was weird tasting and soggy
The soup was all mixed together and not separated in different containers
Can’t believe I spent so much in flavorless food.
Such a major letdown

Benri has a reputation as one of the most popular Vietnamese food choices in San Antonio. While it is a good option, it's not a great option. The menu is enormous and contains good options from all over Asia. There is a focus on Vietnamese food, but there are too many other options from Japan, Thailand, and other countries. Service is very slow because only one person was rushing around doing orders and checking guests out during lunch hour. The pho is good, as are the dry noodle dishes, but based on everything else I think you can do just as well at other Vietnamese restaurants while also spending much less time waiting for your food.

First time visiting. Great place for Pho! Servings were great and many different options availables. My mother had the chicken pho and I had the Berni Pho, both were amazing. We also had the mini shrimp egg rolls as an appetizer and they were really good. Will definetily be back.

Didn't expect to find good Vietnamese food in San Antonio. Food is not bad. Place is clean. Would come back if I'm in town.

First environment is pretty good everything looks clean and spot on Summer rolls were the bomb! But the pho had a bug in it!
Didn’t know what to do

I love this restaurant, I have only ordered to-go for 2 items and when I unpacked my food I felt guilty for doing so. The food was well packed in containers and upon opening, ordered a vermicelli plate with all the garnishes nicely arranged. Also ordered Pho and it was still hot 30 min later. Delicious and good quality food, fast service and courteous staff. Highly recommended!

Tried to eat here with my service dog, and i was sitting outside… they refused to service me only because i was outside. What’s the point of having tables and chairs outside if you can’t use them.

Great meal! We had a banh mi sandwich and eggs rolls and everything was top notch. Carefully prepared with fresh ingredients and attention to detail. I’ll definitely go back when I’m in the area.

Such a cute little place, tucked away where you don't think to look! The service was outstanding. We sat down and were given water and tiny cups of soup right away. We both got pho, which was full of flavor and very good. Near the end, we were served delicious little complimentary cups of tapioca soup. (I'm sure it's called something, I'm just not posh enough to know what!) This place is definitely a hidden gem and I look forward to coming back.

Forgot to take pictures of an awesome grilled beef vermicelli bowl that was accompanied by an order of fresh hot egg rolls. This place reminds me of back home in Northern California. Authentic to the max! Highly recommend.

Complimentary cup of sweet & sour soup was just ok / 2.5 star.
Beef banh mi sandwich was greasy / fried! Just ok / 2.5 star. Neither recommended.
Fried calimari, fried eggroll, steamed dumplings: All three Disappointing! 1.5 star. Off putting fishyness - perhaps not fresh.
We'll not be returning.
