I recently suffered a medical malpractice at the hands of a doctor here and all she said was sorry. I’m in pain and not able to tend to my family for the next month or two because of a surgery she “thought” I needed. If it weren’t for Alpine being the closest hospital to me I’d never return again. Iv had many other bad experiences here but this one was the last straw.

We looked this place up, while on a trip to Big Bend Park and needing an ER asap. We had, at the most, a 5 minute wait and the nurses and Dr were all so kind and helpful. They were thorough, efficient and considerate. We were unsure about going there because of all the bad reviews, but we had a very good experience. The only reason for not giving 5 stars is because the billing department is not exactly competent. As far as emergency medical care, I would definitely recommend.

Billing department is impossible to get ahold of. Sent to collections after 4 years, of which I’ve never even seen a bill and thought my insurance had covered it. When I try to get in contact, no one calls back or picks up the phone. Insanity for assuming I will pay a bill of 1k+ that I’ve never even seen/ received

The supervisor Brandy is not fit to hold her position. She is the one answering the phone? She refused to tell me the wait time. I asked for proper accomodations for my son with severe autism who cannot stay still on a waiting room. She refuses to give my special need son proper accommodations. I will report her to a Medical Review Board.

Horrible billing. Spent 1.5 hours in the ER hallway and 10 minutes in a room to receive 2 stitches and a bill of $3,000. The room charge was $120 a minute.

I went there with my father to get labs and an x-ray done and the hospital was so freaking nasty. The floors in the exam room to the bathroom were so filthy. I thought hospitals were supposed to be sterile.

My son had a seizure, the first in a year and the second seizure in three years after researching on my own and discovering he has an allergy to nuts. It seemed to me he may had dislocated his shoulder as he did once in the past so we prepared for the hundred mile trip to "Big Bend Regional Hospital".
My son Shelby was examined right away and made comfortable in a bed while we waited a few minutes for the doctor to become available. Shelby was gently examined and questions were asked about his possible injury, medications and history.
X-rays were taken and I was able to select a liquid oral pain relief for Shelby. The wait for the X-ray results took forty-five minutes. In the meantime doctors and nurses continued to check on Shelby. A very friendly as well as professional experience.

I know some people have problems there but I never have. I think they are a good facility.

I was born here 18 years ago and I feel like I’ve turned out fairly well. Haven’t been back since though.

Took my daughter here while on vacation and she experienced severe chest pains. The doctor was arrogant, refused to listen to her, asked her if she was lying. Told us he couldn't justify doing any tests even though we have excellent insurance and were willing to pay cash as well. We're hundreds of miles from home and got better information from Google than we did this from this doctor.

On a positive note, the nurse was extremely kind and professional. Too bad she's overshadowed by the doctor's incompetence.

Update. We received a bill for $1,927.52 for 20 minutes of waiting and the doctor to imply my daughter was lying. You're better off traveling to a real hospital than using these small town facilities where doctors think so highly of themselves they can't be bothered to do their job.

Horrible service from this place been waiting 3 hours outside and its 11pm for a covid test! Er is very rude! Should be not even a star of how bad they are!

The care we received in the ER was moderate but the billing department is dysfunctional. I got my EOB saying that the bill would be covered in full by Tricare.without any further notice of anything being due, I was sent to collections 6 months later for physicians bill claiming I was a cash pay patient. Extremely disappointing.

Emergency room did a great job stitching me up. The billing department is a mess. It took almost two years to straighten out departent of labor issue. The best I can do is three stars at this hospital until they fix their billing departent. Otherwise it’s a 4 maybe 5.

So HORRIBLE I went in with extreme chest pains I got there late at night with another women waiting as they took me back to a room a nurse came in talking to my nurse about the other lady and why she was there and I’m like you just violated her medical information as well as another patient in another room and after everything they told me they don’t know what’s wrong and sent me home turns out my muscles were over worked from me lifting a lot at work and I showed them my insurance card as I got there for them to bill me without my insurance added they are FRAUDS!

Just want to thank the whole staff who quickly took care of my 3yr old daughter. From the moment we walked in. Everyone was so pleasant and sweet.

The care was exceptional. I was super concerned because my baby kept coughing and vomiting so Dr. Howard ordered some chest xrays that came back clear. Cheryl, I believe was my nurse, she was just the sweetest and most professional.
Also the xray tech was super fast, kind and professional, I didn't catch his name.

We where in and out within a couple hours which for me was fast because in California a wait for an er visit is usually 6 or so hours.

You are appreciated!

The waiting room is crammed full of people, most of whom have the same appointment time.
The staff and Dr. Van Dr Lune were pleasant. However I would prefer they didn't herd you in like cattle and make you sit there and wait. They really need to stop using such an archaic system. Especially now that Covid is so prevalent.
