Make sure to double check your payment total before donating anything, they'll take your plasma then try their hardest to cheat you on technicalities and fine print if your not on top of these stab happy butchers, tried saying I didnt complete my donations within the 45 day limit and cheated me out of 200 dollars.my first donation was on November 23, its not even been 45 days yet when im posting this, a bunch of clowns from the inexperienced bumbling technicians to the condescending and very likely illiterate management, would rather play in traffic than give them my plasma again

I've been here enough times to know that this is a very professional and efficient place, even when its busy. A staff member in particular named Angelica was very sweet and patient with me. Highly recommended place for both first timers and returning visitors.

BioLife has been an excellent place to donate. From the first donation experience, the host walks you through each step of the donation process, ensuring donors feel comfortable and knowledgeable throughout the entire process. I highly recommend donating at BioLife in Universal City.

All the staff are very friendly and make me feel comfortable, but especially Claudia, she is super professional, friendly, educated and knows what she is doing, in addition to having a very soft hand and my veins thank her. Thanks Claudia, see you soon!

**Update I emailed corporate and got no response back regarding the situation. **
I went to this facility on 9/11 and had an awful experience. The tech that assisted me first rubbed my arm down in the solution (iodine?) and said she was going to let it dry for 30secs and would be back. During that time she assisted another patient and returned about 2 minutes later (no change of gloves). She quickly stuck my arm and left. She went too far in and someone else had to correct it. We (the techs) struggled to get my number to 260 but then it said no flow. I waved someone down and they manipulated it but to no avail. 3 people attempted to fix the issue and Tyler the "lead tech in training" was last. He had terrible bedside manner. He approached me and said "open and close your hand". I'm sorry excuse me? No hi or hello or how are you feeling? He pushed and pulled the needle in my arm and then left. I was left with blood dripping down my arm and onto the floor and no apologies from him. It's safe to say that Tyler the "lead in training" needs more training. I left the site shaking and feeling scared and like my health and safety were not a concern. I will never return.

Don't come here. Incompetent quality control and no one knows how to stick a vein that is not straight. Not to mention they over work staff. Poor environment. Good luck if you dare. Don't comment on how they stick, or if they bruise you when they jam your arm to fund your vein as they will defer you for life.lol

I would give zero stars if I could! This place has had me jumping through hoops for months to try and donate “much needed Life-Saving Plasma”. I have met with 4 different nurses and all 4 have communicated inconsistently with me. I did everything that I was asked to do, including getting 2 doctors to Fax clearance letters, which they claimed they never received. I had to bring it in personally for the doctor to “Review” and was told that I would receive a call about my status. Not only did I not receive a call, but this donation center NEVER answers their phone no do they return phone calls. So I had to come in person for a 5th time, just to be told that I still cannot donate with them, due to a back surgery that I had over 40 years ago! No one is on the same page here, and much time has been wasted. I am clear to donate at every other Plasma Center, so this is really crazy! HIGHLY do NOT recommend Bio Life!

The nurses at the front desk can definitely work on there communication and people skills. Other then that the staff are Very professional. I just completed my eight donations for $800 and I am satisfied. Other then the staff at the front asking me “what’s up” today when I was trying to get some chips and water as I was leaving because I interrupted her conversation, I’ve only really had a one negative experience due to the nurse with good intention trying to stick me in a different spot than usual due to scar tissue forming. This in advertently created more pain and actually hurt a lot. The next time I visited I expressed my grievances to the nurse who was about to poke me and she stated that I could actually request by name certain nurses to do the sticking if that’s what I preferred. Her name is Sarah and she made the rest of my time there very easy and non-painful. She was very kind and helpful. Today I got the nurse named Angelica. She definitely has been doing this a long time, she was very straightforward and did a good job about making me feel at ease before sticking me to begin the process. All in all the facility is very clean and they are very methodical when it comes to the checking in process. Sometimes the line is out the door but honestly and truthfully even when the line reaches a sidewalk you will be in a chair approximately 30 to 45 minutes later, they’re very fast. They can definitely improve on going by scheduled appointments, meaning that even if you Schedule a time to come in Via the BioLife app they don’t even check it and it definitely does not give you a preference. If there’s a line of people who are “walkins” and you stop for your appointment then you will be at the back of the line guaranteed. That is something that can definitely be improved on. Now that my “special” is over my donations will be 2 donations for $120 a week. That’s a big change from the $90 minimum that I was getting per donation. I’m looking at CSL plasma but I hear bad things, I might just wait for a promotion in the mail to come back to BioLife. Also the water and chips that they give you as you leave really make you feel like they care about your health even after they have what they need from you.

Okay the time is 2: 25 PM and my usual times to donate are Thursday and Saturdays. I just spoke with someone at 1: 55 PM Dec. 22nd 2021 that told me I can donate on Sunday and still receive the second part of my promotion coupon since they are closed on Christmas. This post is proof. I don’t have time to drive all the way from New Braunfels. Saving lives AND my bank account.

Open bins of bloody medical waste are left unattended on the patient side of the desks. The center manager David Dee will flagrantly talk to donors without his mask, while everyone else is reminded to keep theirs on. Patient information is regularly displayed to other donors in the center violating HIPAA despite requests to add privacy screens. A few dedicated folks try their hardest, but are not enough to save this place. Don't risk the infection or exposing your private information; go elsewhere.

I have had Angelica D.on my past two visits to this location. She has a great bedside manner, is well skilled with the needle and has made my visits better than most. Keep it up!

Just stopped by for my first time here today. First time TRYING to donate.key word TRYING. They gave me a permanent referral (I am never allowed to donate blood here ever) just because I made a comment while I was upset… The only person that made the best impression and showed real generosity and care was Brenda s/o to this hero. Most of the staff there is good but it stinks how one can ruin the whole experience

Jennifer, the work center supervisor and Cruz, were able to sit me down and get me through the whole process without any fuss. Jennifer had the integrity to double check and start the process over instead of making a wild guess, and was able to set me up on the first try.

What a good experience with a very helpful staff! They answered all my questions and concerns and helped me feel comfortable. Extra praise for Lorena, Jackie, and Ricky who spent time with me and took care of my needs.

Everyone has been friendly and informative. I haven't had an issue with anyone here, but my favorite so far is Melanie!
