Birds Barbershop, Austin TX

Although I've always had excellent haircuts with Birds, I had an issue with a recent one. I reached out to Birds through email and was very impressed with their response. Thank you, Birds, for fixing the situation! I've been a customer for about 10 years and I don't plan to go anywhere else.

Will never be back

Walked into a barbershop where there were 3-4 people sitting around and no customers. Was told it was going go be the next day before they could serve me. Ok.so that's a no. Seemed a bit pretentious, but I suppose some people are into that.

Side note, a 6 year old cut isn't a "kids-cut" apparently? They could say toddler cut or something if they want to distinguish. Not paying $35 for a child to get a haircut, but again.could just be me.

Good ambience. 2 stars are specific to fades. Have tried 3 different people, including the barber. Fade was uneven, visible lines, no super shaver, jagged cuts blending with the top.

Kali gave me a really nice haircut, She was attentive and patient, paid attention to what I was hoping for. She was precise and careful not to cut too much like they always do! I recommend Kali as I’m welling to go back to her for my next haircut. Thanks Kali

Tried the place while I was traveling for business. They stylist did a wonderful job. I am moving away from buzzcut to a more traditional length and she knew the right length to make transition. Totally worth it. ‍️

I know I can always walk out with a clean cut and a little boost of confidence. Haven't ever received a beer as advertised, but that's all right.

This company lacks diversity in employees, and was reaffirmed by Ms. Murray in our interview today. (I will admit I really didn't put forth much effort due to my tardiness.which still beat her by 5-7 min.) As a 3rd Gen Master stylist/instructor for 25+years applying for a stylist position I normally have to ask about companies experience with diversity to protect my many "protected statuses " however I need the answers not to be "we should be because it is Austin " or hav any use of th word Token, or as she put it, " no, we don't really have any tokens in our Austin stores. "Then suddenly the schedule we agreed to to make me take time off work in round Rock to discuss suddenly changes to FRIDAY SAT AND SUNDAY.as she glances dowe at the laptop she had been fake typing on the entire time.that she forgot to fake turn on.
You had one shot to impress me Bird's.and now I will never set foot in another one of your stores

I'm not normally someone who cares too much about his hair, but Samantha is so damn good at her job (and a great person, to boot) that I had to say so by leaving a review. Loved every single haircut she gave me. It isn't always easy to stomach the prices Birds charges, but at least I knew I was in the hands of one of the best. Thanks Samantha and Birds!

I haven't been a return customer to a barber/salon for 8 years until I met Shauna. I had even tried other stylists here and now I ask for her and only her. She actually taught me why my hair would or wouldn't behave in certain styles and made wonderful recommendations. I've never been so happy with my hair or recommended a stylist before.
Not to mention she's just a real human being and is a blast to chat with! Highly recommend Shauna specifically.

I’m not usually picky about my stylist as they all seem to be very skilled, but as of this last experience I might need to start requesting the same one! She did a fantastic job.

DO NOT come to birds if you are looking for a regular bang trim or have straight asian hair. I used to come to Birds for my pixie cut but they evidently don’t know how to style or cut hair outside of pixie cut styling. When I asked for a straight bang trim, the stylist somehow thought it was a good idea to layer the bangs halfway across, creating this ugly line in the middle of my bangs - maybe she was going for a shaggy look? But that looked NOTHING like the photo I showed and never works in asian hair. Lesson learned, I’m never coming back to birds again! So very disappointed after being a loyal customer for years.

Price and fade were decent. I had been wondering around the Domain trying to remember where I parked when I came across this shop. Figured I may as well stop in for a haircut. I appreciate them fitting me in as a walk in. When I asked the receptionist what 15% of 35 is she told me $7 dollars. I’m not sure why she would lie to me about that. Minus two stars for conning me out of 2 bucks. She ought to be careful about that. I once dropped a barber after they asked for an outrageous tip. Other than that the fade I received was decent.
