Blackbeards', South Padre Island TX

Great atmosphere, great staff. But the food is soso. I didn't see anything that was spectacular by any means it's pretty pricey for what it is.

I was craving a salad after many heavy meals the last few days. The Deluxe Chef's Salad with fried chicken was delicious. Server was attentive and ambience was nice, casual.

Not a bad choice while on the island. Seafood was okay but not the greatest, though keep in mind sourcing is limited. They do offer a varied fish of the day type of thing. I wouldn't say all the options are fresh caught right on the island though. But If you're looking for a family friendly seafood restaurant, this is a nice pick. Lots of options for everyone and kid friendly. Another thing I noticed is how weak all the drinks on the island are, but here you can get a traditional mojito labeled with a caution warning that it may be too strong but it really is just a normal mojito. So come on in and get you that stiff drink you've been craving. Oh and get there early or you would have a nice wait. Loved the waiting area patio/bar outside, makes waiting less daunting.

Great food! We were told an 1hr & 45 minute wait. We thought that was ridiculous but once we looked around at everyone else waiting, we knew it wouldn’t be that long. Waiting area is nice and there is a bar to grab drinks while you wait. We got sat within 30 minutes! My boyfriend got the catfish and shrimp. Said catfish was decent, shrimp was excellent. I wasn’t feeling seafood tonight so I had the Buffalo chicken sandwich. SOOO good! It’s pretty big so I wasn’t able to finish but I really enjoyed it. Great price too! Before tip, I think our bill was under $35!

Excellent food, service and atmosphere. The calamari is the best I've ever eaten. Leo, our waiter was fantastic!

The seafood platter was delicious. Very friendly staff, food was served in timely manner. Has a wait time before your seated, do make sure to get there early. Highly recommend Blackbeard's for a fantastic fresh Seafood meal.

We've had our Christmas Eve dinner here several years now.always good service! Very friendly personnel, our sea food and meats have always been cooked just righ and they're quick to serve! I wish I could give them a 4 1/2 start instead of just 4 because they're really good.only detail is thay their mashed potatoes are from a box and that's a bummer. I know I'm probably being picky.

A tasty, light coating makes their flash-fried butterflied shrimp outstanding! The Wednesday all-u-can eat option was absolutely worth it. Service is fast and friendly and the burgers are both good and big.

They have a large outdoor area for you to enjoy while you wait for a table.
The food was really fast. Kinda of too fast. If you want to enjoy your salad make sure to let them know to holding off on making your entree. Otherwise you will be disappointed.

This restaurant is one of my favorite places to eat, because you have a enormous different stile of food not only the typically Sea Food. I recommend you the Mahi Mahi Tacos those are delicious and the people that work here are a mazing, king, friendly….

Service was great, what I ordered was the avocado burger. No taste to it.no spices on the meat itself. The only thing I tasted was the avacodo on the burger.

Surprisingly, I was craving a burger. One of the BEST burgers I've had in some time. Five stars and five on the service as well.

Chowder with no clam flavor, crabcakes seemed to have very little crab and less flavor. I couldn't figure out why there were always cars in the lot. Tried it twice, won't go back a 3rd time!

The food and service is always great. They have a nice selection on the menu and their prices are good for the amount of food you get.

Just finished an awesome dinner with the family at Blackbeard's in South Padre Island. I ordered the broiled seafood combination, wife had crab stuffed shrimp, and son had chicken tenders and fries. It is off season now so I would expect a downgrade in service and food quality but we were pleasantly surprised. We were seated immediately, and provided great service by Memo. We ordered a very reasonably priced bottle of wine with our meals and then ordered deserts at the end. There was a lot of food (leftovers for lunch tomorrow), and absolutely everything was delicious. We haven't been blessed with great weather so far so this meal has been the best experience of our mini vacation. Great food and service at very reasonable prices!

Absolutely amazing food, quick service and big cheap margaritas. Only regret is not coming here until the last day of our vacation!

The best place on the island, killer burgers and margaritas. Oh and if ever the conversation gets too heavy, simply point up and say, "look at the big fish".
