Bombay Palace Indian Restaurant, Katy TX

We had dinner here and the food tasted good. Our server was great and was very welcoming. They have quite a big place but definitely needs a make over. We had naan, chilli chicken and lamb karahi. The lamb had very few pieces of meat. They multiple to go orders while we dined in.

Today we placed our first pick up order here and the whole experience was really good. The order had not only ordered items but also sides like two chutneys (sauce), salad and papad. The food quality and taste were up to the mark. We really enjoyed the food. I surly recommend it to everyone.

I was so disappointed after visiting here for their lunch buffet. I very much enjoy the unique flavors of well spiced Indian food, and that's what I expected when I came here. Instead, everything that I tried was bland, and only a hint of the flavors that you would expect from Indian food. Even the Tandoori chicken and the curries lacked in flavor. If I didn't know that I was in an Indian restaurant, I would have difficulty identifying what kind of food I was eating. The naan and rice pudding were the only 2 items that I would say had flavors as expected. When we arrived around 11: 30 AM, we were the only customers during the entire visit. Now, I know why.

The pros of the restaurant is that it had pleasant atmosphere; the staff was friendly, and the buffet had a good number dishes, however bland they were. The pros is why the 2 stars.

As I was leaving, I did mention how bland the food was to a staff member. He said that is what customers liked.

I really wanted to try the butter chicken but I had a huge black hair in it and was so discussed I couldn’t eat it. The sauce itself looked way too dark and had very little chicken from what I could see but the big black hair almost made me vomit

Not recommended. If you are trying to find a place to eat and you are going through reviews to decide then please dont go here. We should’ve checked the reviews but the restaurant we were planning to go were fully booked.
We didnt find anything good here, chicken momo was the chinese dumpling that you can find in the local chinese grocery store, veg Manchurian did not taste fresh, tikka masala too thin and sweet.veg thali set’s saag panner had only one paneer. Service was very slow, toilet worst ever (smelled really bad). Very disappointing. The management definitely have to put some work on everything.

Easily one of the best meals I’ve ever had. First time here and Ali was really helpful going over the menu with us. Everything we had was great. Very flavorful, and fresh. Can’t wait to try everything on the menu

Poor quality food. Taste was bad. Poorly maintained washroom. I don't see a sign of basic hygiene being followed. Can't imagine the state of the kitchen and quality of preparation. You have to assume everything is prepared well. Visit at your own risk!

Was very excited to try this place and the food was good. However, me and others that came got very sick. So I would not recommend. Also, by how unprofessionally they respond to their customers/others bad experiences I wouldn’t recommend. You shouldn’t speak to people like this that have supported your business even if you disagree. I wanted to love this place but I was throwing up and everything even on the toilet. I’m just being honest soo others can be warned. Even the person that went with me had the same sickness. I don’t believe the food is 100% fresh. I rather Indian food that tastes amazing but doesn’t make me sick for days.

The best chicken Vindaloo I've had in west Houston/Katy. They even include side vegetables/lemon, tasty onions/jalapenos and nice taco crisps on side to dip in your Vindaloo sauce. Wow!

We were out in Katy and wanted to try a new Indian restaurant. Seeing the reviews were good we tried it. We should have known when it was completely empty at 7pm on a Friday something was wrong. The dining room is not well kept. Cheap everything except the prices (they were fair). The AC was either not working or not on and they turned a fan on when we arrived and it was still uncomfortable (Aug in Houston). We ordered potato samosas, butter chicken, tikka masala, saag pannier, lamb vindaloo and naan and a tandoori chicken off kids menu for my nephew. The samosas were greasy but ok, all the curries were sooooo bland (which is an oxymoron for Indian food) this place is like the Olive Garden of Indian but dirtier with cheaper ingredients. Like only 6 small chunks of chicken per dish for $14 with a bland tomato sauce with no veggies. All the ingredients were stingy and seemed like they cut every corner to save on cost. Lastly the kids tandoori chicken was laughable. It was 1 huge red chicken breast cut in half cross wise and some crinkle fry’s from Kroger. He didn’t touch the chicken. This was very disappointing and didn’t even get close scratch the Indian food itch we had. I really wanted to like it more but it just did not deliver at all.

I know plenty about Indian food, you don’t know me or my background. And I’ve probably tried a larger diversity of this cuisine than you. Having eaten it all over the world. (Check my post about Indian food in Peru) But regardless your bullying tactics only hurt you here. The fact that you count the small chicken pieces proves my point. You served the worst Indian food I have ever had. It’s time you take a hard look in the mirror and listen to what your customers are trying to tell you. P. S.your bathrooms were filthy, please attend.

Great service. The place wasn't busy, but they had a busy to go business. Great dinner and great service

My husband and I love coming here for Sunday lunch buffet. Amazing good and friendly service. Get the garlic naan it’s delicious!

I just ordered at this restaurant for the first time through Uber Eats and the food was SO GOOD! It was also my first time ever trying lamb! The lamb korma is AMAZING. Onion bhaji? Perfection! And washed down with a perfectly made mango lassi. Will definitely be ordering from here soon.

Service was fine. Food was very disappointing. Surprised by all the positive reviews honestly. Very bland especially for Indian food. Naan was by far the best thing we had. The chicken tikka masala and butter chicken tasted like the same dish and both lacked spice and tasted like tomato basil soup. Also, AC was out and restaurant was uncomfortable. Won’t be back and would recommend dining elsewhere if you want authentic food.

Instead of battling all your terrible reviews and telling people “they don’t know what they’re talking about”, try improving your attitude and recipes. Maybe you’ll have more than 2 tables sat in your restaurant. I’m well versed in Indian food and your food was the worst I’ve ever had.

If you want bug biryani come here. Found a bug in my food here. I also suspect that they reheat the leftover buffet food and serve it for take out orders because everything felt state.the paneer tikka felt like paneer makhni.the samosas felt reheated.the chutneys were good.the biryani as you can see is the reason why i will never go back.that is super nasty, i though i was hallucinating when i seen stuff moving on my food. The reviews here had me fooled, i saw a bunch of folks that left good reviews.something tells me most are not factual since a lot of them only have single reviews.truly horrible experience.

We have been coming to this Restraunt for many years. The food is very tasty, freshly made and pleasant atmosphere. When we order online the food is always ready in time. We would highly recommend this place. Wajid

Truly an amazing and authentic cuisine. I loved their garlic naan, chicken tikka masala, saag and goat. We will be coming back for sure.
