Bon Galbi reviews
20 I had a great lunch with Hubs. It was our first time dining here so we tried a new dish along with familiar ones we would have order from a favorite place further away.
Their tofu soup was good. The server said the soup was premade so you can’t order it non-spicy. Since I don’t eat spicy, but it’s a Korean restaurant and I love kimchi, I tried the soup with no additional spicy and it was tolerable and tasty. We also ordered the kimchi pancake. Delicious and crispy too! Even the dipping sauce that goes with it has its own topping! The new dish we ordered was the Dolsot Bibimbob. OMG! I hit a jackpot in this choice! It was so good. It was served in a hot stone wide shallow bowl. The rice was centered with all different veggie toppings around it besides a ground beef looking one. It also came with a fried egg and thinly sliced roasted seaweed. I loved the whole thing, almost didn’t want to share! We got four side dishes and all four were great! The sides dishes were a plate of fish cake, japchae (I know right!), kimchi (obviously a must), and seasoned broccoli with sesame. To me simple is good, because simple brings out the flavor!
Can you tell me what food is this photo? Salad? Or Bibimbap? Who can believe that I am order a Bibimbap, it's coming without rice and it's cold lettuce! I'm driving there at cold raining night 20 minutes. Paying the price for Bibimbap but got cold salad! So disappointed
What do you think the dish in my photo is? Green salad or bibimbap? The answer is: bibimbap There is no rice in bibimbap You are right or wrong! On a cold rainy night, I drove more than 20 minutes to go here to have a warm meal. When I got home, I spent the money on bibimbap and brought back a cold salad! Super dumbfounded! When I called back, they still didn't believe me and asked me to bring the food back to the store before I could refund it! Oh my god ️On a cold rainy night, in order to refund less than 20 yuan, do I have to drive back and forth for 40 minutes? I'm mad. Forget it, I admit my defeat and will never go there again.
Our family had a great time and really enjoyed the food. We ordered too many dishes to recall, but EVERYTHING was WONDERFUL! The service was outstanding & friendly. We'll be back!
We this is one of our favorite restaurants in the area of many choices.
Very flavorful food and great service.
Do not order army hotpot that is so bad and overpriced just a fast noodles flavor cost 30 dollars. Do not recommend the pancake it’s ok even the price is high at least taste good
OVER PRICED. I ordered galbitang, but it tasted like beef brisket soup instead. Also, you have to order side dishes separately. Although galbitang is on the expensive side, they didn't even serve one piece of kimchi as a side dish. I won't go there again. Other menu items are just average, and it doesn't even feel like it's locally adapted.
I ordered galbitang, but the beef stew was delicious and I had to buy a side dish. It was expensive for galbitang, but they didn't even give me a piece of kimchi radish. I won't go again. The other menus were just so-so, and it wasn't localized. It was just too salty in the store.

First time and customer service is top notch. The quality of the food proves this place hired the best chef. I highly recommend this place. It is most definitely one of the best Korean dining (bbq) in Katy:)
The servers were so accommodating and kind (they always had huge smiles on their faces when dealing with customers). The food was wonderful, albeit some of it was a little sweet (the Bulgogi Hotpot, for instance). The seafood pancake was good, and the soy chicken + rice combination hits the spot. The interior is decorated elegantly. If you are in the area, this is a worthwhile spot to visit.
Never return back because the service. They make themselves comfortable and convenient more than the customers.
We use to come here all the time and then they started charging for sides and then stop selling LA galbi which they’re called Bon galbi but don’t sell it. I wish they had other dishes as well and the Korean army pot in a smaller portion for 1 person. Love the pear drink.
Tried this for the first time with my bestie. Service was awesome. They helped us understand the menu and gave us pointers! I tried the Army hotpot and it did NOT disappoint. I will take pictures next time but I was too hungry to not be excited and forgot.
I absolutely love ordering from here! Every time I hang out with my best friend we stop to get lunch here no matter how far away we are. The portions and sides are large enough that we share an entree and it satisfies us completely!
The staff are very kind as well<3!
Food was served quickly, was very delicious! Price was good, I got bulgogi hotpot for $30 and was enough for 2 people
Ordered the ox bone soup, but wasn't expecting to get a bowl of straight-up broth with no seasoning or flavor. It was just beefy water.
Probably the best Korean restaurant in the area the let the photo speak for it sell, the kimchi is great a little in the sweet side the only down side is that they have some weird operating hours make sure they are open before you go
Flavor was good overall. Portion is on the small side for Texas/American standard.
Seafood pancake, fish cake, fried seaweed and fried shrimp appetizer was good.
Army hot pot seems to be the best bet. Side dish was adequate.
Bone both was good, but don’t expect to get a lot of noodles. I literally had one bite of noodles in the bowl. Asked for more noodles, got another bite size portion. Im not kidding, one sauce dish of noodle.
Bibimbap has lots of fresh veggies (good). Meat on the low end. No rice in the bottom however, I had it add it myself? I guess so… just a little odd (to me)
Army pot ramen seems to be the best to get.
Service is prompt and friendly.
Overall, 4 stars for small portions overall, especially weird noodle serving size.
The meat I got
This must be joking
And it’s $15
Btw the owner said this is what they serve normally and it’s reasonable
Great ambiance. I had great time with the fam. Definitely be back as I come to Houston next time
Great value for what we paid for. Absolutely pleased with food quality and service. Will be back
This was our first visit to Bon Galbi. Service was prompt and the food was very delicious.
We ordered the Dolsot Bibimbap, Seafood Pancake, and Dumpling Ox Bone Soup.
Every item was on point! We highly recommend the ox bone soup
Definitely a place to try if you're in the Katy area! We cannot wait to try the other items on the menu
