Boomerz, Austin TX

My husband and I have been patrons of Boomers for 15 years. Used to be a nice bar where everyone just wanted to enjoy a beer and converse with the other folks. Over the last couple of months the bar has become more of a roadhouse, with violent, belligerent and very drunk customers. Bartenders don’t seem to know how to handle these situations. So scary this afternoon, we left without finishing our drinks.

Good place for a Shiner beer and a country dance. Don't expect any fluffy drinks here.

Bartender had cut me off after 2 shots saying I need to slow down within 30 minutes of serving me and I am the card holder but continued to serve the driver of our group.

Last night we visited Boomerz for a friends Birthday. First time going so I didn’t know what to expect. Really cool place to shoot pool, darts and have drinks with friends. Really cool vibe to the place with a good mix of age groups. Handicap accessible with plenty of room to move around and see all sides of the club. Great audio system, very pleasant that seemed to enjoy their jobs! Will definitely be going back next time we have a gathering of friends.

One star is too many. Manager Chris, and bartender Mel, are allowed by their owners to take phones from unsuspecting customers and inappropriately harass their children/loved ones.

Maybe for tips? Attention? Who knows.

When I called asking for a (real) manager, I was told to call 911. Hideous behavior. It’s clear they cover down well here to hide their indiscretions. In fact the complaints are so frequent, Chris, mistook me for someone else when I called. Yikes.

My children are underage and law enforcement is involved. Until there is a resolution, my best advice for young women attending this dump is to stay vigilant, and don’t tip. These women will do anything for a dollar, and they won’t spend it on their education. This bar is trash, run by trash. Stay tuned!

Great bar! Bartenders are awesome. Lots of pool tables, a few video games, karaoke, and a friendly crowd. Snobs are not present! Very relaxed n er neighborhood bar!

Happy hour is a lark! I was on my second drink and one shot. Bartender tells my friend no more drinks for me. Why didn’t she tell me? And why advertise as fun place to hang out?

In my neighborhood but I do not feel there was good service at all. I tipped her $20. In tip jar and on my bill.
