Borrego Ed MD, El Paso TX

This review is specific to Dr. Borrego and will not address his staff. Drr. Borrego is one of the most compassionate doctors you can ask for. I begged and called him for help and he met with me the following day. He did proper testing and I was diagnosed with ADHD and Bipolar I. He was able to stablize me enough where not, only was I able to go back to school in Seattle and graduate. Several years later, Im in a masters program, married, own a house, and have 3 amazing pets. I have everything I have worked for and gained; partially to Dr.borrego for allowing me to thrive and be treated properly to be given a stable life.

Safest, most responsible psychiatrist left in El Paso. Very skilled at manipulating drugs in the best way that works for you.

I called and the receptionist has a horrible attitude plus she told me they're not seeing new patients and she doesn't have an idea of until when they will be able to. I understand this. I don’t understand the attitude. However, I don't think I will call back for an appt.in the future! I wonder if he knows about his office staff being rude to patients. These ppl especially the ones answering the phones should be more careful on the way the talk to patients or future patients. What about if they have a breakdown because of it. If they need meds or even get suicidal? So my advise to this office is to be more courteous and understanding of the patients needs. For God sakes; if you don't want to help, then you're in the wrong field; you work at a Dr's office!

I truly believe Dr Borrego is a wonderful doctor and my significant other has been going with him for over 5 years. The unfortunate thing is his staff. Grace has not been helpful when it comes to her lack of communicating with the pharmacy to get his medication out on time. She is very much aware of what he needs and when he needs it. I am very upset especially with the fact that NOW he has to spend his whole weekend without it, after the fact she is aware of his condition and how BADLY he really needs his medication. This is truly unfair and unprofessional for his business. Do not get me wrong the doctor is fantastic and has helped my fiancé dramatically with his condition, but Grace is causing him to suffer when he shouldn't! He pays so much money and spent so much time to finally get himself to a normal state! I'm in tears watching him have to go through this pain! Its aggravating frustrating and extremely stressful! Something must be done before someone else suffers as much as we have because of her carelessness or lack of responsibility. This is unnecessary torture!

Excellent care. My husband was seen quickly by Dr. Borrego. His location is perfect and we avoid traffic and long waiting periods. The Dr. Borrego is most professional and knowledgeable in his field. The staff was courteous and attended to our needs.
It is difficult to find good mental health care in El Paso, but this practice proved otherwise.

I met Dr B in October 2014. I found him to be extremely patient, knowledgeable and thorough. I feel safe and confident in his ability and would not want another Doctor. I have been able to express myself and concerns to him throughout the years. I've opened up to him more than any Doctor before on very sensitive subjects. I find the staff to be friendly and helpful.

I tried to make an appointment to go see dr borrego for the first time and the reception put me on hold for a long time, finally came back asking with attitude why im going making it seem lile a problem that jm going to them, then telling me that doctor will not see me bc he will not test me.im just trying to get better here, and idk the steps.it took so much courage to even accept the fact that i need help, only to be shot down without even explaining what needs to be done.very unprofessional

Dr. Borrego has been my psychiatrist since 2012. I honestly don’t know where I’d be if I didn’t have such an educated and understanding Dr.as he is.
He explains how the medication will work on the chemical level if I ask, and keeps track of all of my progress through the years. When I speak with him, he makes eye contact and engages in full conversation on my terms. Very professional, intelligent, and empathetic.

I've had a great experience with Dr. Borrego. Hes on time and willing to listen. I've never had issues with his staff either. They always seem super nice!
The only cons is they dont call to remind you of appts and if you need a last minute apt it can be hard to get him. Other then that, I'm perfectly happy seeing him.
