Boy Scout Woods Sanctuary reviews
5One of the best birding spots in Texas! The crew that work down their are extremely knowledgeable and helpful.
Awesome place to visit during bird migration in April and early May! Lots of trails and mosquitoes. $10 donation to Houston Audubon supports conservation and gets you into all the High Island bird sanctuaries.
Annual pilgrimage for migration season. I have brought my grandson here twice. Nice area for picnic, nice hiking paths, (easy) and great birds at the drip
A bird sanctuary managed by Houston Audubon in the town High Island, TX.
At the Boy Scout Area, we saw lots of warblers, including a Cerulean, Prothonitary, Bay Breasted, American Redstart, Water thrush, and more! They were all in trees feeding right ner the entrance. We were there late in the day, which seemed to be optimal. Pretty exciting place to be. But two days before, it was pretty quiet.
Such an awesome spot for birding. The folks at the check in station can update you on any rare birds in the area. Clean good bathrooms. Drip can be awesome during migration time. Lots of great trails. If you find Wyatt, make him help you find birds
