Arrived with only 45 min before closing. Was received with a smile and oil service was done in 15 min. Doesn't get any better. Great friendly and respectful staff.

I stop in Friday for an oil change. I am very skeptical where I go and who I used. This place has good reviews. I met Sam and we went over what I wanted done. He accommodated me and later brought to my attention the front end and air filter. Usually I do my own pmcs on my vehicle. So, had him do the air filter. Even I inquired about the cost and the time frame, he was straight up on both. Had it done. Paid and drove out. He met my daughter and we all had a great conversation and laugh. This will be my mechanic shop going forward. My car doesn't shake at 60mph anymore it rides high now and I can totally feel the difference. I highly recommended this place. Great service, outstanding job on the repairs, awesome communication and very friendly and courteous service. Thanks Sam!

I’ve been going here for years for brake replacement. Unfortunately this will be my last time going there. I went there to replace front brake since car was vibrating when braking, the front desk guy said it’s the back and not the front. How convenient, the front is cover with lifetime replacement and not the back. Ok, after spending over $400 car still vibrates. I told Sam, why didn’t you test drive the car before giving back to me. He said it was raining and Westheimer road was traffic. Lies, it was not raining or traffic when I left. Just lazy!

Got a wheel alignment done one day. One week later came back for a oil change and was told I needed a wheel alignment by the same person that recommended it last time. Something is fishy

Slow slow slow. I came in to replace two brake pads. Should be a 30 min job. It took TWO hours and it wasn't busy. Very dissapointed. Will not return.

Great service! Espicially from Mr Sam! Im a single mother who needed my brakes fixed bad but had financial restrictions. I went in to take care of what I suspected was an allignment issue on my Nissan Altima 2008 and Sam was the man. He got my car ready to go after a short wait. Friendly, engaging and Great Service overall. Definitely coming back.

I brought in my wife’s Highlander for an oil change, alignment, and tire rotation at 4pm on Monday December. I have lifetime alignments for 3 of my family vehicles, several brake jobs done, and 3-4 free oil changes since the every 4th oil change is free, so I’ve been coming to this location for quite a few years.

At 5: 45pm Sam said that they were backed up by an alignment being done to a Jeep with oversized tires. He didn’t know how much longer it would take and asked me if I wanted to wait. He said that the typical alignment would take 30-45 mins. This location closes at 6pm, and i didn’t want the crew to stay afterwards just to work on my vehicle. Disappointed I said I’ll come back another day since I also had to go pickup dinner.

Sam rang up the bill and It was over $110. He initially mentioned that the oil changes was $65 so I’m my mind I had sticker shock and thought I got charged $50 for a tire rotation. Upset, I blurted out, “What, I wasn’t going to pay that! ”

Immediately afterwards, Sam turned to the tech and told him to unrotate the tires, and the tech gave him an, “are you kidding me” look.

I tried to tell Sam that the tire rotations are done complementary when I get my alignments done and the record of my visits would show it, but he didn’t bother to check since he was more focused on winning the argument. He also said that I was rude when from the start, which prompted another, “what? ! ” In my head. I asked him to elaborate as to why he thought I was rude when I came in. He said that I was telling him what services I wanted and which I didn’t want, and the fact that I gave him two phone numbers irked him as well.

So I’ve mentioned that I’ve been coming to this location for while now and have had a number of issues but have always came back since I’ve already paid for the the services initially (lifetime brakes and alignment). I told him not to check the air filter and the cabin air filter because when they check, they don’t put back the glove box’s slow open mechanism correctly in their haste. It’s happened more than three times, I’m getting tired of them fixing their mistakes. Another time they forgot to put back the oil cap. I found it on the engine block when I went to check the oil level in my car. Also I the reason I gave him two phone numbers is because the vehicle’s history is under my wife’s number and I wanted them to call me when the vehicle was done, since I did leave to get some food during the 2 hour timeframe.

So if me telling people what services I want done and which I don’t done comes across as rude, that must mean I’m rude to a lot of people.and if taking two phone number upsets Sam, perhaps he should be a Corporate Director off brake check. For someone in management, he should work on his people skills.

During our exchange, Sam also very quickly told me to go somewhere else if I wasn’t happy with the services. I’m sure Sam was just having a bad day and he wouldn’t normally act this rudely to customers. After several days of reflection, I realized that I don’t need to patronize this establishment since they clearly don’t value my business. I’ve given them plenty of chances.

I didn’t even mention the second time my wife took her can in for an alignment at Brake Check. The first time she got the alignment done without any issues and paid for the the lifetime package. The second time the tech said we needed to pay for special parts (calipers? Cam?) for the alignment to be completed, which didn’t make sense since they did it the first time without the parts. Why would they need special parts this time and not the first time? Did they damage it and need new ones? I’m so done with this Brake Check and “NO, ” I wouldn’t recommend to family and friends.

P. S. There’s no need for the owner to contact me since it seems to be a culture thing. It’s difficult to be consistent when you have a different manager running the business everytime I visit. This is a cultural issue and not an isolated incident.

Been using this Brake Check since I moved to Houston in 2016, three years now. All the managers and technicians are very courteous and helpful. One time, they drove me back to my house cos I didn’t want to wait at the store while the repairs were being done. Recently went for a preventive maintenance and had to do some unscheduled repairs. Sam was extremely helpful and matched a quote I received from another vendor.

Favorite location! Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Sam, who was working with my car, provided excellent customer service with his expertise and professionalism. He walked me through the process and offered great recommendations based on my own situation. Service like that is why I'll be a lifelong Brake Check customer.
