Brandon Sumner, DO reviews
6 My daughter needed help early on a Monday morning. She had a very painful weekend and had left a vm for help. Dr. Sumner and his staff called her and took care of her first thing Monday morning.
Greatly appreciate him for getting her in and helping her like he did.
He takes the time to listen and answer questions.
Thanks!
Good experience with Dr. Sumner. Would use his services again and recommend him to anyone. Performed robotic gallbladder surgery on me. Took three doses of Tylenol that afternoon and evening and did not need any further pain medication. Super job Dr. Sumner!
Dr. Sumner is AMAZING. After carring a hernia for over 20 years 4 felled surgeries. It was the size almost as big as a beach ball. He dedicated one whole day 8 1/2 hours in surgery. Very Professional and Caring.
I was one week postpartum and still in the hospital with my newborn when a parathyroid issue was diagnosed and surgery was ordered. Dr. Sumner royally messed up my surgery and left a scar that was about five times bigger than I was told it would be. My family didn’t receive any updates throughout surgery and they were told that family members weren’t allowed in post-op, which we found out was not true. In my post-op bay, I heard him loudly telling another doctor that he couldn’t even find my parathyroid to remove it. This was before he ever spoke to me, so I found out he messed up my surgery by hearing him tell someone else down the hall. His bedside manner is nonexistent. Once I was back to my room, I started violently vomiting with a fresh scar on my throat. He didn’t even know because he waited over an hour to speak to me following my surgery. After following up with a doctor at UTSW, I was told he should have never cut on me and surgery had not been necessary.
When I first met Dr. Sumner, you could tell it had been a long day for him. However, he paid great attention to my husband, the patient. When it became clear that he would need emergency surgery, Dr. Sumner stayed by his side and went the extra mile to get him prepped and ready quickly. In addition to clearly being an excellent surgeon, he goes the extra mile with bedside manner towards the patient.
