Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History reviews
20It was a big building and if you’re not from the area you won’t realize how small the actual museum is. Very off putting and just a couple of small hallways of artifacts. At least the cost was $1 when visiting that day.
It's not real big but there are some interesting things for sure. Only $5 admission was well worth it!
This is wonderful little museum! It’s located just outside of college station. Your family is sure to love this wonderful museum. There are lots of cool creepy crawlers to see and tons of history to learn about. Our kids absolutely loved visiting this museum. We learned a lot about the wildlife in the Brazos river, Texas, and history of settlers.
This is the perfect day outing to keep the kids (and yourself) occupied this summer! You will love all the rich history and interactive displays. Check ahead for hours of operation & you might want to call and make sure all exhibits are open beforehand. We went when 2 rooms were behind redone— so we will need to go back to see those.

I love all types of museums and this one was fun - I expected it to be larger but some very interesting exhibits
First time visiting this museum and we were impressed. They have so much neat and interesting history pictures and other items. I definitely enjoyed the visit and will be back to the museum when we are back in town again.
A small place with lots to see. The staff was very nice and informative. The place was clean (restrooms included). We enjoyed our visit.
A small museum with some geological history, Texas history, and various other knick knacks. Pretty cool spot, and only $4 for students to get in.
After doing a lot of research to try to find something to do with the family I found this museum. The website made it look huge. We pulled up and the building is huge. My sister's asked how long it will take. I said from the website and how big it looks a couple hours. The museum was small compared to what we thought it was. We were in and out in under 30 minutes. Now we went to heritage park which I believe is an extension of the museum and we had more fun at that. That took us over an hr and a half to get through and there was a knowledge, kind, funny actor there that answered our questions about things back then. We really enjoyed that part and will be back
I took my residents from Alders Magnolia to the Brazos Valley Museum. They really liked all of the different things they had on show. The staff was so nice! This was one of our day trips, so it was a nice little drive there! Bluebonnets are everywhere along the way! This will be a yearly trip for our community!
As someone mentioned it's not a big local museum but there are lots of info on different topics.
They have rotating exhibits, at the time of my visit it was about origin of dogs, info on wolves and other canines.
Small but interesting displays of rocks I enjoyed.
Small reptile area, live beehive.
There and here are small interactive areas for kids.
And please don't moan about 5$ fee, it's worth it.
And donate if you able.
Good small museum. We all enjoyed it from 7years of age to grandparents. They run different exhibits throughout the year.
Went to the museum to kill some time, small museum but very nice the game collection was fun to see and you could play some of them definitely would recommend for someone with a family of children not necessarily for group of adults but was still enjoyable
This is a well presented collection of interesting displays. Something for everyone. Geology, local history, paleontology, western artifacts. An under appreciated local gem. Worth a good look!
Very fun the board game section brings back so many memories afterwards we hit Amazon and bought a bunch of board games kids had fun a good place to go when u want to kill a hour
Most fun I've had in a small museum in years. Watched bees do a honey dance, a snake mont and played lawn chess.
Great place for an event and - even with outside temperatures above 100 degrees - it was actually a little Cole inside. That HVAC system was WORKING!
The exhibits are very nice. Not too crowded. Lots of room to walk through the exhibits at your own pace. They also have some live animals in a childrens area. Looking forward to going back!
Came here for my son's field trip. It's a small museum for such a large building. Most of its space seems to be for admin. However, the exhibits themselves were good and plenty for a pre-k class. The staff is friendly and I personally enjoyed the experience. It just needs a little more for adults and older kids.
Small little museum interesting items the funniest was this shell of an animal my husband squeezed into lol.we always have fun together
