Brenner's on the Bayou, Houston TX

We dined in at Brenner’s to celebrate our wedding anniversary and enjoyed our experience. We showed up a little early and grabbed some drinks at the bar before our table was ready. The bartender made me the best French 75 I’ve ever had. They also have a neat happy hour menu and specials that I’d like to come back and try. We ordered some crab Louie for an appetizer and enjoyed the pontchartrain fish and the almond crusted fish. The crème brûlée was a delicious dessert to end our meal with. Our server was friendly and attentive.

Great fresh oysters.
Filet was amazing. And the crab legs were awesome.
Views of the bayou, and the landscaping leave you wondering if you're even in Houston anymore.
Wait staff was friendly and professional.

Spent our 41st yrs anniversary here and it was wonderful! Great service by our waitress, and the food was quality and delicious! We ate everything that was ordered Tomahawk steak, Macaroni Cheese, forgot the rest because we were both deepsy from finishing 2 bottle of red wine lol. We both had a great time.

I wanted to give 10 stars, but Google only allows 5. A gem of a place! Great food, welcoming staff, and a fantastic atmosphere. We dined outside, had pan roasted salmon and lamb chops with Caramelized Brussels Sprouts, mashed potatoes, and smoked macaroni and cheese. Could not find a fault with anything, even if we were looking. Very delicious food, period. Our service was spot on. We never felt ignored or needed to look around for her. Highly recommended for a date night or family outing.

Came here for an event. Everything was very put together. Friendly service and great food and drinks. Loved the atmosphere.

My man loves to cook, and I love to eat. He is a fantastic cook, and, his expectations of eating out are very high, and we can never find a place where he can tell the food is excellent. I usually get, “I can do a lot better than this. ”

We enjoyed the food so much that we left talking about our next visit, and this was the first restaurant we ever said that. We highly recommend this place

I booked a reservation at this restaurant for this past Saturday 9/16 for an anniversary dinner. Extremely disappointed with the service received by ANA. Extremely disappointed with the seating, especially with the fact that we got seated at a table that couldn't even fit 2+ plates (yet it's a table FOR TWO?), sitting really close to other guests, no sense of privacy for our very special dinner. Ana spoke with a distasteful tone with every interaction we had with her. We were so upset with the experience, we cancelled our order, paid for our drinks and left. Ana was expressively annoyed when we cancelled our order and took her sweet time bringing us the check for our drinks so we could finally leave. Such a waste of a special night for us. I will never recommend this restaurant to anyone, it was too bad we even wasted our time here.

Great atmosphere horrible service and the food was not worth it. This ruined my 15th anniversary. I won't patronize this place again.

Maybe you shouldn’t. We booked through open table. We called to see if we can get a nice table to celebrate the most important day of our lifes & both an associate & the manager told us there’s many other important celebrations. Some more important than ours. So no guarantees.

I understand the no guarantees part but not the lack of compassion. A little “congratulations, we will do everything we can to accommodate you” would’ve been nice.

If that’s the customer service over the phone, then I’m not interested in dining here.

I was excited to take my wife there for dinner on our 26th anniversary last Saturday. Unfortunately, we had to leave. First of all, they gave us a table the size of a tea set for kids at a very small place between 3 walls in front of a dirty window.we were seated there for about 30 minutes (that's what it took for they to bring us a drink). We ordered our food, but we had to leave because it was super uncomfortable. My back and my neck were already hurting for being against those walls. Second of all, the waitress named Anna wasn't too happy to have us there, or at least that's what it seemed she was cold and unwelcoming that's what we felt since the beginning, and I wasn't wrong because when we canceled the food order she did not care, we told her thank you and she didn't even answer. We were sad and disappointed because our anniversary night was ruined but luckily found pappadeaux still open and no reservation needed. It was gonna be our first time trying Brenners, but it's ok.never going back.

Great food with a diverse menu and plenty of delicious options from beef to seafood to sides. Service was top-notch so zero complaints. Be prepared for an expensive check but it is well worth it!

Date night was a success!
This was my husband and I, first time going to Brenner's on the Bayou. The view outside was beautiful the atmosphere inside was very romantic, with dim lighting and candles. It was one of my favorite dates with my husband. What made the night so great was our waiter Alex he was absolutely EXCELLENT! He explained the menu so well and made awesome recommendations, he even suggested a soufflé for dessert it was amazing. The steaks were juicy and perfect to taste. We also ordered mashed potatoes and lobster mac n cheese it was super delicious. Thank you Alex for taking good care of us, we will definitely be going back again! I will recommend this place to everyone and make sure they ask for Alex he definitely knows his stuff very well. Thank you Alex, you made our experience a very pleasant one, keep up the good work!

Loved the atmosphere. The lab was ok I’ve had better. The sever gave us some free rockin shrimp which was delicious! The quail was good. However we did order the chief”s special which was duck breast, Lobster and risotto it was ok I could have ordered something else. Over we liked the restaurant. I’ve just experienced better food. Our server Jennifer was good.

What a beautiful place to go, lots of funnn real cool customer service, very clean n beautiful view beautiful landscaping I enjoyed my time very much.

We enjoyed our dining experience.the food and the drinks were made to perfection. I've been there a couple of times here and have been extremely happy with the quality of the food.would be great if they could consider adding more diabetic and keto friendly dessert choices to cater to a wider range of dietary preferences and needs. Unfortunately, the valet attendant seemed inexperienced and had difficulty with the parking manual cars. As a result, my party and I had to walk to retrieve our car, which was particularly inconvenient given the restaurant's location on a bit of steep parking and having high heels on.

Amazing dinner as always! Service, steak, drinks and sides were all spectacular. Ambiance is first class.

I have been here before several times, and I really think the food is good. My problem, and the reason why I am rating this place low is because on my birthday (SEP 2), I made reservations for 4 to have a nice dinner with some friends that are visiting from Canada. The day before I received I phone call from a rude person (a woman with a sour attitude) confirming my reservation, and letting me know if I don’t arrive within 10 mins of my reservation, they will cancel it, plus dress code is a must, no balloons, no singing, etc etc. I found the call very insulting, Firstable, I am always on time everywhere I go, second, I am not the type of person that brings balloons, and cakes and expects to wear a sombrero, and request waiters to scream and sing happy birthday, (nothing wrong if some people loves that). It is not really my personality. In Texas I have seen it several times in some cantinas, but not my thing. About the dress code, I completely understand some people wears shorts in places where is not appropriate for the occasion, they also dress with college shirts even when they are sixty years old, but that’s not me. I get it, it’s annoying and some people are just not use to dress profesional. My problem is that this restaurant is cutting me with the same scissors as other people. Totally rude from them. I called the manager to explain the situation, and I have to say she was very professional. The person that was not professional was the person that called me to explain all these rules, she even hang out on me when I told her it was not necessary to call me. I canceled my reservations, and went to another restaurant which was a little more expensive, but it turned out to be an excelente experience. Who is the GM here? They really need some drastic changes in this place, they can’t just put “ anybody” in charge of this place, it will go down soon if they correct this kind of behaviors.

Very nice high-end (therefore not cheap lol) place - update however on last visit September 12th 2023 the background music was a bit loud, surprised me a little for a high-end place.
