Brenner's Steakhouse, Houston TX

Dined here for a birthday dinner on a Sunday evening. I must start off by saying we made reservations for a table for two preferably by the window or nicest table available as I indicated that it was for a birthday dinner. We arrived about 10 minutes late for reservation & apologized when checking in. The hostesses were okay & seated us at a table right at the entry of the restaurant, which was directly across from the restroom and immediately next to the hallway that servers and guests frequently used. Right off the bat, I was annoyed & very uncomfortable because of the table placement (And the table itself was quite small, though they have larger tables where they were seating two people). The server was nice & attentive, so I appreciated that. The food itself was subpar. We ordered the Texas Akaushi strip & ribeye, Mac & cheese, brussel sprouts, and German potatoes. We both agreed that we had better steaks even at a chain like Ruth Chris or Perry’s. The German potatoes were burnt & the Mac & cheese was decent. My birthday dessert was a brownie a la mode. I think the brownie was dark chocolate, which I’m not a fan of, so I cannot comment on the brownie but the ice cream was fine. For a restaurant of this caliber, we were expecting much better quality. I would love to give this restaurant a higher rating, but it just missed the mark with us. The two stars are going to the server & the potential for a nice ambiance at this restaurant.

Went for an anniversary dinner. We enjoyed the 6oz Filet Mignon and Braised Beef Shortrib with a nice bottle of Pinot Noir to compliment. The food was delicious and the staff was pleasant. We also ordered Crème Brûlée for dessert, and this is where I feel they fell short. If you’ve ever had a perfect Crème Brûlée, you’ll know that this is not the same. You should be able to crack the top layer and enjoy every single bite thereafter. It was still good, but it felt like it was missing something. Spoon fell right through oppose to cracking your way in. I promise the harder top later gives it a more distinctive taste. Either way, the food was delicious, staff was pleasant, and ambiance was good. It was louder than we were expecting, but that was ok too. We didn’t go outside however, from the window it looked beautiful. We agree we would come back. 5 stars.

Perfect place for special occasions or dates. Pictures won't do the place justice, you need to visit it. Great food, strong drinks, tasty appetizers, perfectly cooked stakes. Leave some space for the strudel. Reservations highly recommended.

I have tried to like this place. Both times I have gone Dinner and twice disappointed. The first time we left after the appetizer. We sat at the bar and the service amd bartender were horrible.the second time. Tonight.over cooked steak wrong dessert brought and Irish coffee served stone cold. We are long time landrys members but this place is no better than Salt Grass. I won't be back. Should have gone to Flemings

I was looking forward to trying something different instead of the normal steak places we go to so thought we'd give this place a try. Somewhat disappointed. The steak was good but not fantastic as mine was over cooked but still tender. The $11 salad was wasn't anywhere worth the price, the bread was terrible, the $11 baked potato was ok but again not worth the cost, same with the green beans over priced. The service was just ok. Overall with tip for my wife and I it was $169 only 1 mixed drink, wife had water. Over priced for what we got. Won't be back.

Birthday dinner for a friend. Delicious Pineapple Sage cocktail, highly recommend. The lollipop chops were a bit tough but the Salmon, snapper and center cut fillet were delicious. Great cappuccino and wonderful desserts. The Beef Steak Tomato salad, winner.

Beautiful place with excellent service.
Steaks are pan fried which for me was a big letdown. A pricey establishment though and I hope at some point they can do better with the taste of the higher-end items.

I would not recommend this restaurant. I have no complaints about the staff there. They were on point. The issue I have is that I expected the food to be on the same level as Taste of Texas or Perry's. Unfortunately this is not the case. This restaurant would struggle to keep up with Texas Roadhouse in my opinion. It's not that the food was horrible, but it wasn't anything special. And it definitely wasn't worth the price. If I'm going to pay that much for dinner it had better be on PAR with the best steak I've ever had.

Food was bland, no level of flavor. Taste a bit processed. Was not impressed and for the price not worth it at all. The Greek salad and brownie the best on the menu. Will not return. Terribly disappointed and will not ever return.

Refused service to my elderly father for wearing shorts. We had a reservation, told us we could sit at bar but not bar table. Refused to switch bar table with our reservation. Told us no service outside. This happened on 07/09/2021.

We were genuinely understanding of this dress code, but the employees were in no way polite, courteous, helpful, or showing of any respect to my father.

My Dad is clearly elderly and struggling with mobility. It was truly despicable. He has been a prominent figure in the west memorial area for decades and we will be sure to spread the word amongst his elderly community and peers in Yorkshire, Wilchester, wilchester west, Nottingham Forest, and Ashford Forest neighborhoods.

Went very recently for a late evening dinner and was glad that I did. It’s a little small but that works to add a comfortable atmosphere. The drinks we had were good. The food came promptly and was very good. The wait staff was very attentive and checked on the table multiple times. Try the Hennessy sidecar.

Food was amazing, crab cake we got for an appetizer was delicious, I was disappointed in the dessert. We got the bread pudding and it was not as great as I thought it would be. I will say the service was great, loved our waitress. Will be coming back!

I have been to Brennars now a few times and it's always offered beautiful scenery. The food has always been forgetful for such a nice place. This time I can honestly say I will never go back.

This was my first visit to this location and honestly, the server ruined our evening.

I ordered the ribeye and lobster bisque, my friend ordered the tuna. The quality of the ribeye was atrocious, half of it was grizzle and it was difficult to cut into. This is not a cut of meat that should be served at any establishment.

Jimmy was very rude and inappropriate at times, and we are super easy going. He dumped the au jus after he asked of I wanted it at all. I declined and asked him to pour it on a side dish, he hastily dumped it into my plate. The entire steak absorbed the sauce immediately. He did not apologize nor ask if I would like another steak. Mind you, when he came by to ask if we were satisfied he only addressed my friend and didn't even look at me. The entire evening he ignored me and his comments became increasingly erratic.

Our experience was absolutely unacceptable & I will never step foot inside of a Brennars again. Not only was the cut of meat unacceptable but I do not go to a seemingly high end steakhouse to be disrespected and treated so poorly.

First time here my husband and I the outside atmosphere is nice Mrs. Erin the Manager is super accommodating to her guest it goes a long way when you have customers service like Erin the Manager thank you all for the experience and your staff.

I visited Brenner's to check out their Outdoor dining area. It is a very nice large outdoor area including Gazebo with two ceiling fans. Perfect for serving drinks and appetizers before dinner. It could use a good cleaning.sprayed down with a water hose. I noticed the cushions were soiled.but there are other areas to sit.

Indoor restaurant was clean and immaculate. I like to see that they do deep cleaning which i noticed the window molding peering from main bar area to dining room was being cleaned.

The exterior on the main buildings could definitely use a face lift. But maybe the distressed looking Cedar Wood construction is their motif

The male hostess didn't appear to be too friendly.maybe he was having a bad day or didn't like the way i looked.who knows

This place has valet parking, there is a nice view inside. They have really good bar drinks some that change colors, even boozy dessert drinks. They have really good dessert the pecan ice cream ball is amazing. My favorite to get as an appetizer is there yummy crab cakes I also like when there is lobster in the menu #drinks #fancy
