Brian Jeffrey Welch, MD reviews
9I can't believe I've waited so long to leave a good review for Dr Welch. He has been the most caring and supportive doctor for my mother. Dr Welch has a great bedside manner and really cares! He is very quick to reply to questions in the portal. His assistant Mansi is also very nice. The office is run very well. We are glad to have him as part of my mom's team of doctors.
Update 8/24/22: I am still a patient 5 years later with Dr Welch! Now my husband and mother are also patients of his. We all drive 3 hours to see him because we do not receive the quality of care locally that we do with Dr. Welch! He truly listens to his patients and not once in 5 years has he ever brushed off a concern I've had or rushed any of us during an appointment. It's hard to find doctors who truly give time to each and every patient. Dr. Welch is great and I highly recommend him!
1st appointment with Dr Welch today and I must say his bed side manner is wonderful! I appreciate how well he actually LISTENED to my concerns. I drove 3 hours to Dallas to see him. I have Hashimoto's and have had terrible experiences the past 2 years with my treatment with other endocrinologists. I feel confident that Dr Welch will be able to help me and my condition. I'm impressed so far!
I was unable to schedule an appointment on three separate occasions. You'll need a referral from a PCP even if your insurance doesn't require either one. I finally received a referral and tried to schedule an appointment in person while visiting for my annual check-up, and I was told that the office only accepts doctor to doctor referrals. As it became apparently clear during my conversation with the one person that could schedule me, she then requests for me to read my referral letter aloud in the busy lobby where people are checked in and out. I declined, and said that I'll figure something else out.
Dr. Welsh is so kind, thorough, and actually listens! He comes up with a game plan during your visit and communicates that clearly; genuine endo doctors are hard to find (I’ve had several) and I truly feel like he cares about his patients!
I'm upgrading my review because the doctor changed locations. The difficult office staff - gone. The elevators that always took 5 min to arrive - still there at the old location.
Dr. Welch is great. I transitioned from another endocrinologist (with outdated info?) when I moved to Dallas, and Dr. Welch was very clear in explaining the need for changing what I was taking. I asked for advice on related issues, and again he was clear about what traditional medicine can help and what it can’t.
Brian Welch is the kindest doctor I’ve ever seen. He listens and genuinely cares. I’ve been seeing him for almost 10 years and he has helped me tremendously! Highly recommend!
I have been seeing Dr Welch for hypothyroidism and Hashimoto’s since early 2017 and could not be happier. He has great bedside manner and I never feel rushed. I have never had a problem with his staff, as many people seem to have, but I always message him on the app directly with questions or things that come up, rather than calling. He or his MA, Melinda (who also is awesome) are always very responsive and get back to me in a timely manner. He has walked me through hypothyroidism while being pregnant twice which included VERY frequent labs and frequent dosage changes. I was so thankful that he was on his game for that! After moving to McKinney a couple years ago, I still happily make the drive to downtown Dallas bc I feel confident in his care.
My husband has Type 1 and we were referred to Dr. Welch by our PCP after transferring endocrinologists from Tyler, TX. Dr. Welch has been an actual angel from our first meeting. During COVID, his office has been extremely communicative and helpful in setting everything up in our patient portal for our telehealth visits. Additionally (and most importantly), Dr. Welch is truly gifted and is one of the best listeners you’ll find. He takes time to answer questions, lets us talk through whatever we need to, and remembers details from previous visits. He is kind, intelligent, helpful, and super up to date with T1D research advancements. Yes, we are so grateful to be in Dr. Welch’s care. He might just be our favorite doctor!
