Brookdale Westlake Hills reviews
10So far my relatively young and able friend is getting care that sounds decidedly mixed. Hopefully I'll be able to update this review soon.
Shame on you. We just had a patient come in from this facility for post op care and he was severely dehydrated, and not able to speak. He seemed comatose when only a couple weeks ago he was in fine health and chatting with our staff.
When we called the facility to have him picked up the staff was extremely rude and hung up the phone on us.
If you care about your loved ones DO NOT use this place!
My father just completed a 2 week rehab in this facility. Actually we discharged early because the care was so bad. I'm pretty sure they are without a director of nurses and it shows. He sat too many times with his needs not being tended to and he was not a difficult case. Absolutely no communication with the family about anything including when he got terribly sick in the middle of night. I wanted to like this place since it is close to my home. Sadly, I could never recommend it. Before we left I spoke with the director about a couple of issues such as call button on the floor, left in a wet bed for way too long, long wait for call button to be answered, no water on his tray table, sitting for over 5 hours in a wheelchair, it goes on and on. The director showed little concern. None of these places are perfect, but this one is far from it!
I use to work here and I loved it there one of my favorite jobs ever. I just had one problem and that was my supervisor everyone else was so nice and lovely to me I can't say nothing bad about this place they take real good care of the residents and there associate's. I wish I can go back to work there but I still love everyone there.
This place has its ups and downs.
Wonderful Physical Therapy Staff.
Somewhat friendly nurses.
Mother is in her early 60s and is only staying for a month long.
Please check on your love ones who are staying here as they sometimes are forgotten about such as no medication given. Delayed response to nurse call (hours or longer delay)
Other than that seems like a okay place
Steven and the team of professionals at Brookdale Westlake Hills do an amazing job caring for their residents and ensuring their needs are met with care and compassion.
Do NOT send your loved one here for skilled nursing. I just had my second parent go here for care and it was a disaster! Very unhappy and indifferent staff. Constant problems with staff not knowing what was going with her (staff members do not talk with each other), which resulted in my mother being left in extreme pain for days until family intervened. Then PT then pushed my mother too hard, causing her to get injured to such a degree that we had to take her back to the hospital! Had the same issues with my father here 4 years ago. STAY AWAY!
My parents are 92 and have lived in the independent section of Brookdale Westlake Hills for 2 1/2 years. We have been beyond pleased with the care they have been given! The people that work at Brookdale are caring and want to do anything to make sure the residents are comfortable and happy. It is a wonderful place.
My parents need extra care to be able to remain in the independent section of Brookdale. The personal living services that provide caregivers for residents is outstanding. The woman that work in this area try their very best to help with caregivers that are well trained and are compatible with the residents. We’ve been blessed with amazing caregivers. My siblings and I are extremely thankful that our parents are living at Brookdale. They have a beautiful apartment, they are surrounded by caring people and the people that live at the Brookdale are very loving and interesting. We are very, very pleased.
They lost my father's wheelchair on day two. After 14 days, they still have not returned it. Their lack of compassion has created unfair stress and sleepless nights.
I was afraid to leave my Daddy to go on a vacation I had previously planned. So, I hired a gentleman by the name of Brian Blackwell from Personal Living for companionship when I was gone. Best decision I could have made! According to the nursing staff, Brian was very good with Daddy. On top of that, Daddy has now made a new friend. I highly recommend Brian if you’re ever in need of the Personal Living services.
