We are big fans! Todd and his team do great work and they have really helped us out and gone above and beyond by fixing multiple unique vehicles with various issues. Todd is always willing to check things out for us and he makes sure we are satisfied with the repairs and work. Highly recommend Brutal Off Road for all of your vehicle repairs and custom projects.

James and team rock. Literally they build rock crawlers. They do everything from private ranch road vehicles to commercial severe duty work. Fire trucks, utility trucks, contractor pick up, hot rods, Jeep upgrades.

The service was non-existent, I went up there numerous times and dealt with mr. Personality behind the front desk service writer / owner rude I will answer any of my questions oh, bad attitude slamming stuff around. I will never go back spend my small fortunes there I'll take my business elsewhere. I feel that if I'm going to spend 30 $40,000 a year an auto repair shop they could at least do it with a fictitious smile. My advice to all consumers is to pass up that brutal off road on Highway 16 with your pedal to the metal.

This is the second time I've stopped by their business to inquire about them working on my personal vehicles, both are 4x4. This is the second time I have never heard back from them. As much as I would like to do business local, since they're right down the road from me, I have decided to use Bikini Off Road in San Antonio to preform the $9,000.00 upgrade to my Jeep.

Thanks but no thanks Brutal.

Went to Brutal to have them install a 408 crate engine. James did not tell me every system on the car like the entire drive train would need to be upgraded to the tune of a total job of $34,000+. Had he, i would have opted for a more stock engine. 3 years after bringing my 70 Duster to Brutal, it is still not running right. Here are my three major complaints which I have talked to James about, to no avail.
1st they did not use the header bolts that came with the TTI special headers I bought, even though they were in the box the headers came in. James did not ask me about them when they went to install them and couldn't find them. They stripped my aluminum Edelbrock RPM heads, put heli-coils in the place of the proper bolts. When i got up there, the mechanic told me about this, not James, I told him they were in the header box, which they were 5' away from the car!
2. I told James that I wanted to try the 3,000cfm fans, which I had already bought before using the 4,000cfm fans that would require customization of the car to install them. He did not listen to me, so instead of installing the 3,000cfm fans for $300, he cut up my car and charged me $2,700 for installing them.
3. I bought an 8-3/4 differential for the car, James was supposed to go through it and make sure it was good. After it was installed, it made noise on the way home. So I brought it back, he didn't take it for a test drive but said it was ok. He impacted the pinion nut off and a new one on to measure for a driveshaft. Then he impacted that one off and the old one back on. The differential made more noise on the way home. I made him aware of this, but i decided enough is enough and will take it somewhere else.

Great place for all of your needs, works on my fleet trucks, my hot rods, old vws and my wife's car. James has more knowledge than any mechanic I've ever met, and his staff is on point. You get what you pay for, and Brutal is worth every dollar, he won't try to sell you something you don't need, can handle the $40 oil change and the $40000 custom build all under one roof
