Buffalo Soldiers National Museum reviews
17I learned so much that I never knew about the Buffalo Soldiers/the history of African Americans in military service in America at this museum. The cost is affordable for this self-paced and self guided museum, with many artifacts, pictures, and items to capture your eye & your interest in what these brave men & women accomplished.
I thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated this vital space. A great opportunity to experience African-American history. A must see while in Houston.
This place is full of awesome information, facts, memories and has great energy.it was well worth the visit and I will go back after a little while or when I have family visiting.
Walking through this museum is a humbling experience. I wish the museum was bigger. I felt like I ran out of things to see and wanted more.
Good museum. Definitely great place to support. Good place to visit while in Houston area. Thursdays are free.
Treasure trove of Vital & Relevant information. All the staff was Very Knowledgeable of the events on display. Very active in community relations, especially with the youth.
Our niece likes out of the ordinary museums and has picked some very unique ones to visit. So, when she wanted to go to the Buffalo Soldiers Museum I looked them up on line. To be truthful the web site undersold what we experienced. This started as a private collection and expanded from there. It is very well curated and portrays from the Buffalo Soldiers of the Indian wars to the present. In my opinion it is a must see in Houston. I am so pleased that she suggested it.
The Museum was nice to visit. I visit it was a bit bigger. But overall the Museum was really nice. Keep up the good work honoring our past heroes
This is a must stop location. It had a lot of history of our African American ancestors who joined the armed services. It spoke bout many layers of things they faced and how they fought to not just be equal but stand for what they believed. It had a lot of artifacts that took time to collect because Alot of non color people own our ancestors things. The price is low parking is free. It takes about 40 min to look and explore. Other areas was under work so we didn’t get to see everything but I can say my children learned alot. This is a must for all people to visit
My 80yr old Mom was so animate this Juneteenth about learning MORE about our history and contributions
Facinating and patriotic. Really enjoyed our visit. The letter written by a former slave was one of the best letters I have ever read.
This is an excellent museum. The short film at the beginning is not to be missed. It provides great history and background to begin to understand the history of the Buffalo Soldiers and the museum itself.
I really appreciate how this museum focuses on individual people's stories in historical context and timeline.
This past weekend, I was a first-time visitor with my dad. Parking is easy and buying tickets to get started was very fast.
Highly educational museum located in an old National Guard armory. I had a awesome time there and will definitely be back next time I’m in Houston. I recommend everyone visit the Buffalo Soldiers museum.
Great little museum that covers American History as it relates to African Americans in the military and the Buffalo Soldiers.
I was here for Memorial Day, as they opened it up to the public for free. Great place to learn about US History, from a Black history perspective. Wonderful staff and climate! Love it!
Wonderful experience lots of great information. Good staff lots of options in the gift shop and the building looking like a fort adds to the ambiance.
Houston's biggest hidden gem, in my opinion. Greatly curated, comprehensive, moving, enlightening.please embrace the honor of the experience to visit.
