Buffet City, San Antonio TX

BEWARE!
Well.my boyfriend and I wanted to try this place. We deeply regret that decision! It all went downhill from here. On Saturday the 8th we went in around hour 1/2 until closing. The girl in the front seated us fast. There was 3 tables in the whole place. The front part that has the cook to order steak, was completely closed down. That put a damper on our experience! We went to get some food off the buffet and everything looked really old, and was cold.:/
There was a lady taking stuff off the buffet and not replacing it with anything. We asked her about some items and she smiled and walked away. In her hands was the high end peeled shrimp, was she taking it off for tomorrow? Or were the workers going to eat it? We saw 5 workers eating mounds of food in the first dining room. As we tried to navigate and find something to eat, I caught 2 worker men staring at us. How awkward! It doesn't make the ambiance any more appealing. I found 2 bowls of hot and sour soup. Which actually was decent especially for a buffet. My boyfriend however got upset and when he sat down he noticed how cold everything was. There was nobody who could fix the situation. The lack of urgency and care was very apparent. The waiter came and dropped the check off when we stopped eating. Which was a whopping $34.62! I was appalled, apparently they charge a premium on and Saturday nights. Which is Nothing to be proud of, especially for this trash. I read great reviews and then we got shafted on our experience! Sheesh! I generously paid for the lack of food and left, completely unsatisfied and hungry. If your remotely interested in this place, PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND STAY AWAY! This place should be shut down immediately and left vacated for a year to get the disgusting things out!

Had a Service Dog with Us and they Made a Big Deal of having him with Us. The Food was Cold and the Prices weren't Displayed to see before you went in

Excellent buffet place to eat. Wait staff very professional, nice to talk to. You have a choice to grab from buffet or have the cook make fresh for you. I usually get the salads and have the cook make the ontray fresh for me on the grill.

Decent buffet at a decent price. My sister wanted to visit here for her birthday, so we thought we'd try a little of everything. I really enjoyed some of it (the grill had the best options and I would definitely do that again) and some of it was your lower quality buffet food that sits out for hours at a time. Desserts were not good. If you eat the right foods, you'll be happy to come here:)

Food is good but they charge you 18% tip on your bill and don't tell you about it and the waiters take a long time to get your drinks

I love a buffet as much as the next guy but oh boi do these guys have a real good buffet that I would kindly take my family or girlfriend to.

No. Seriously. They're pretty good stuff. I mean I usually get the same exact stuff on my plate but my gf be making the weirdest, most creative plates you've ever seen. But going off of that I think y'all deserve a ∆ rating from yours truly!

10/10 will probably be over again next week.

I enjoyed my visit to Buffet City. I found the food to be flavorful and well prepared. The staff was pleasant and attentive.

Food is gross. One of the worst Chinese buffets in San Antonio. Also, I went to the restaurant to wash my hands. A woman server got out of a bathroom stall and did NOT WASH HER HANDS! I Left restroom as well and saw she went straight to beverage station to refill someone’s glass. Never going back!

Here's my take on it. It's a buffet and I'm a hog. A match made in Heaven! I don't eat all the dishes, but the ones I do are consistently fresh and good!

The place was ok when I went there you could tell the food was old. They put that old dries food on top of new food when the food was fresh it was good though

By for the worst buffet I have ever been to. Half of the food was rotten and spoiled. Do not go here unless you want to be sick.

I like coming by here every once in a while and throwing down on their buffet. I love that spicy crispy chicken dish and a few other things

HORRIBLE FOOD! THE FISH was UNEDIBLE! It tasted like it was fried in old oil. The fish was very hard and had a taste like it was warmed up over and over. When we complained, the manager said she could only give us 10 percent … 3 dollars off, plus she had a very bad attitude. Kept on arguing about the time we were sitting, it was Ridiculous! There was very few people, and now I know why, besides dirty carpets and horrible food, never again… I think I will call behind the kitchen Doors, this place has really gone down hill!

Me and my family have been going here for years. They always have really yummy food and nice staff. (Edit: We went there today, 10/27/2021 and the man that was our waiter was the most respectful, kind, and helpful person I have ever met. He gave off such positive energy and his aura was even more positive. He was legit like a ray of sunshine I swear. Everyone was just so nice and positive.)

Food was not good. The beef I'm positive is Not beef. But what really got me was the price. $18 for just me, one person. I will NEVER eat here again. FACTS!

Food was sub-par. The food tasted usual not like in the past. Service was just a little bit better. Never recommending this place again.

We went there for my birthday dinner. I remember it use to be so good and I loved it, but revisiting it after so long and it kinda lost its magic. The food was still okay at the least.

Everytime you go up to buffet they provide new gloves and plates but the wait staff should do the same and dispose of gloves from table to table. I watched our waitress clean a table handling everyone's dirty napkins and tableware. Then come to grab my cup to get a refill. I got up and left. Never again! Covid city! They should change their gloves too!
