During the periodontal charting (sticking the tool in your gums) it hurt so badly I couldn’t stay quiet and I’m a quiet person. It was horrible. I had never had a painful experience before at a dentist. I wouldn’t recommend this doctor to anyone. Staff and hygienist were sweet though.

I went to have my cleaning which was over due because I have been in Florida the past five months caring for my 85 year old mother with Alzheimer’s. When I set up this appointment I explained to the receptionist this is the only day I have available due to other appointments I have set up. I’m going back to Florida this coming week. Anyway, I had to take a lot of X-rays, then an exam and I was told my teeth looked good, no cavities and mostly good numbers except for bacteria in the back where people often miss but do brush. The point is I wasn’t given a cleaning or anything. The doctor told me he needed to set up a gum therapy plan which surprised me and I would have to pay approximately $845
out of my pocket for this treatment.
All I wanted was to get my cleaning done and head back to Florida. The doctor never came back into the room, he was seeing other patients I was told. A girl from the desk came in to tell me about this plan and fees and I explained my situation to her. I wasted my time and now nothing got done! NOTHING!
I’m not happy about this at all. A staff member, her name is Chris said someone would call me back and see what they can do to help me. I’ve been coming to this dentist several years now and was never told about these so called gum issues, other than I need
2 teeth replaced. Now all of a sudden I need $3,000 worth of work on my teeth.
Something doesn’t feel right to me.
It would be great to hear from someone in the office. I showed my husband the print out they gave me and he has no idea what’s going on.

Terrible! Avoid this place! I went for a basic cleaning. I had no cavities but the new dentist insisted that I have a 'laser gun treatment' for $500+. I told them all I wanted was a basic cleaning but they said no. So, I went somewhere else and got my cleaning. It's a shame - I've been a patient there for several years. I understand wanting to maximize profit but I do not take advantage of me.

I arrive 15 minutes late for my appointment and they gave me other one because said I was too late and make me give a 100 hundred deposit but when they make me wait more than 35 minutes in the waiting room they don’t even say anything, why would they give appointments at one time when they gonna make you wait 35 minutes sitting in the waiting room and I arrive 15 minutes late and they reschedule my appointment THAT IS NOT FAIR!

DO NOT USE THIS PLACE: I spent an hour+ and all 4082 characters on this.
UPDATED, PLEASE READ: If anyone used my earlier review to choose this place, I'm sorry, I wrote it when I didn't have insurance - they were nice when I was paying several hundred dollars and signing up for their credit card. I've since left this company for a much better office NOT under the Smile Generation monopoly of this area. Staff is fake and only friendly if they can make money off of you. Once I got insurance, they became very difficult to deal with. They couldn't be bothered to explain why a service was quoted as costing more than what my insurance listed it as. It was as simple as "because a specialist is providing the service. " Had to call my insurance company to get that answer.

The dentist who performed my 1st extraction screwed it up so bad, it had to be repacked 3 times. It actually needed at least a 4th, but he stitched it up so much that I couldn't tell until it had already healed too much. Plus I'd already lost trust in them. A year later pieces of the graft material are still coming out THROUGH MY GUM. It hurts everyday and feels swollen/mangled. I paid $300 to have a bone graft so there wouldn't be a hole in my gum - I have a hole in my gum. The entire service cost ~$600, when I could've had the same result for free at a clinic a year sooner. I specifically saved up to avoid a hole. They also initially quoted me $300 more for something that hadn't been included in the quote for the same procedure here previously, and wound up not being essential. Just something to keep in mind.

A treatment plan was also made for me, included filling a front tooth bothering me. They filled it, making it hurt worse. When I returned for repacking the extraction, the same dentist told me the filling might need a root canal, but that he didn't see anything that would cause pain. The assistant with him updates the plan, starts to ask if he's going to do the root canal himself, but can't even finish the sentence before he cuts her off saying it'll go to their specialist - which costs me more. Month later, a new dentist takes one look at the x-ray, sees that the root is impacted, asks politely why the last dentist didn't catch it, then tells me he absolutely can do it instead of a specialist, so it'll be covered at my insurance's listed price. Been with them ever since, even though it's an hour drive because of that Smile Gen monopoly.

Went back to Modern on 8/20 (when I wrote the last review) as they selected me to receive free treatment. Nice, but on arrival the fake front desk lady instructs me to leave the below review. Felt like I had to in order to get care that day. The same tooth was extracted on opposite side, same procedure, yet it's perfect. Only difference is the owner did it. Did a cleaning too, hygienist was kind but had to leave before a fluoride treatment. She asked the dentist and assistant to do it after the extraction. They didn't, and I didn't realize until I'd left. Wouldn't have said anything anyway since I was receiving free care that day, but it's icing on the cake.

Overall: Wasted money, stuck with a useless card (cancelling it could impact my credit) and they don't bother to explain the deferred interest. Not neurodivergent friendly. They're impatient if you don't understand immediately. Oh, and they changed the music to garbage.

PREVIOUS (8/20/22) : Friendly, knowledgeable and caring staff meet you at the front desk. With awesome music overhead, you continue on to find the rest of the staff carry the same philosophy: your care and health are important - you are important. Dentists answer every question and provide informed recommendations and guidance, coordinators offer workable and realistic solutions, technicians get to know you and put you at ease with their easy procedure explanations and friendly conversations about fun topics from dental school pranks to life in the Caribbean to their own families. As an anxious person who put off my dental needs for years, I couldn’t have asked for a better dental experience!

I am so thankful to have found a dental office that is trustworthy and honest! I have a pretty lengthy dental medical history and the staff really took the time to listen and care. Every single staff member was patient, kind and smiling! They immediately helped me make a game plan of how I could get out of pain, and worked with me to help me schedule procedures in advance for financial reasons. I have been to many dental offices, and never felt as relaxed and cared for as I did here. Not to mention with all the new technology and procedures nothing felt outdated or complicated. I was asked many times if I was comfortable and really it felt as if they were caring for one of their family members.
Thank you so much to everyone here from the bottom of my heart! I can't express how much I appreciate it.

I've been here a few times. The staff and dentists are always super kind and efficient. They explained what I could improve on as far as dental hygiene with compassion.

In addition, they use modern technology, from dental software to their instruments, so the process is really precise.

I visited Dr. Abdeljalil and she was the most personable dentist I’ve ever encountered. She took her time to go over my dental x-rays with me and explained to me in detail the treatment plan with compassion and no judgement. She was conservative in her recommendations and treatment plan, which I appreciated very much. If you are like me, and you are feeling nervous because you have been putting off seeing the dentist for some time, or even if you are very regimented about your dental checkups, I highly recommend Dr. Abdeljalil and her staff. They are wonderful!

Edited to add: the tech who took my dental x-rays was amazing. She was fast and efficient and made the experience as comfortable as possible.

On July 25 2023 I brought my son to this place, they were going to remove his wisdom teeth, they told me that he won’t feel pain because he was going to be anesthetized, everything was normal until I started listening my son screaming, I started asking what was happening with my son, I am not overreacting, people on lobby was listening him screaming for pain, I found the room where these “doctors” were doing the procedure, my son was screaming, he had a lot of pain, I saw a group of people over my son removing a teeth without mercy, I asked several times if they can stop his pain, I paid for a procedure where my son won’t feel pain and their answer was “no worries, this is normal, he won’t remember anything”, they were treated my son like a piece of meat, they didn’t care about an unconscious teenager screaming for pain just because he won’t remember anything, I felt useless in front of these people, I can understand that maybe the anesthesia stop working because the procedure could take more time than they expected, or for other reasons, what I cannot understand is a group of “professionals” extracting teeth without mercy, they didn’t care about my son screaming, a unconscious teenager that couldn’t move, yes he was unconscious but his body was screaming and begging for help.
After several minutes I saw how the “doctor” applied more anesthesia and in that moment the body of my son stopped screaming, why he didn’t do it before? Why did I need to be complaining in front of them and begging for help for my son?
I saw a group of “professionals” abusing of my son, just because he won’t remember anything, that does not mean the body couldn’t feel pain, for me this is medical negligence.

Terrible experience, like from a horror movie, it may be that the place is accredited but we don't know which dentists work there, I heard moans and screams from other patients for two hours, the nurse said that it had been a patient who had taken drugs and for that reason the anesthesia was not working, it was my son's turn and I heard him moan terribly, his body was immobilized in the dentist's chair, my son turned his head and saw me, my son told me that he was feeling all the pain in the world, he could not speak, he could not move his arms or legs to run away, but he was crying and yelling with all his might, thank God I was able to hear him until the waiting room, they were no longer the moans of the previous patient, they were those of my son, sometimes something strange happens in our noses and we do nothing until it happens to us, I asked them to give me my son and I saw that they injected him with something and he fell asleep, now my son has suffered a psychological trauma for having gone to that place, the name of the doctor is not They wanted to give it to me, they did not want to answer any of my questions, thus trying to silence their mistakes. I have been to many dental clinics of different levels, but this was the worst experience. If you go to this place, consult which doctor will treat you and do not leave your children alone.
