Cafe Abuja reviews
15We had never had Nigerian food so we tried to get hints from the waitress but it was "lost in translation". That's weird since it was a British colony. That said, the pictures in the menu are half the the portion. We ordered ox trail with rice and plantains. Delicious. We also got mackerel with coconut rice. Delicious. We ordered a "Nigerian style Fanta" and got a regular bottle of Fanta made in Mexico. It was a sorrento experience but it could've been better îf the waitress would've been more informative.
Ola was an amazing server and the restaurant is beautiful and very personal settings. Food is reasonablly priced and I just can't express ENOUGH how kind the service was.
The food is good but the portion size has gotten smaller. The prices have gotten higher but the food is enough for only a child. It’s better to order online because when you go in person the owner doesn’t greet you. Myself and My Coworkers won’t be going there anymore.
The food was just OK. The soup and jelloff rice was good, but the fried rice was poor. The service was HORRIBLE. We had to wait for close to an hour to get our food. Literally, we were told that the fried rice was ready for the kids, but only one plate was brought out, and we had to wait another 10 to 15 min before the second plate came. The server did not speak up and did a very poor job. We had to ask several times for our food. Will I be going back. Nope.it's not worth it.
My wife and I had a very awesome experience at Abuja cafe. The food was delicious and the service was impeccably impressive by the waiter called “Ola”, she was really professional. I’ll recommend cafe Abuja for good quality Nigerian food. We ate ofada rice it was great thank you will be back.
The food was delicious. Ola gave excellent service. Definitely recommend this spot for anyone in the Houston area
This is the best restaurant you can go to in Houston, the food is perfect, the waiters are excellent, really nice. I was there with my family, we are in a hurry to go back. Do not hesitate to go there
1st timer. I've been to plenty of Nigeria restaurants. The food here was just ok. Pricey, I will add. Nice clean environment. Will likely not travel 50 mins to come again.
Food was amazing. Drinks was strong and good. The hubby and I had an amazing lunch date. The hour drive was well worth it… praises to the Most High and the Ancestors
I received service from Ola the chicken and jollof rice was delicious. I was very satisfied
Ola gave me A1 customer service and the food here is impeccable I drove a hour to eat from a friend recommendation and I was not disappointed
We loved everything on the menu. It was so good. My current favorites was the moi moi, fish pie and the pounded yam fufu. I will have to come back. Friendly staff. Cozy and clean restuarant.
They recommended that place to me because it was good, I wanted to try African food, that's why I went there and indeed it is as they told me, the food is very good with quality and the attention also, if you want to try good African or Nigerian food, do not hesitate to visit them, I promise They will love it like me, I am very satisfied with everything, attention and food. Thank you so much
Ola, thank you very much for taking good care of us. Even though some of the food we ordered were not available but you managed to get the second order out very fast. Moreover, it will be fine tuned the ordering workflow. Overall, very good first experience.
I've come to this restaurant numerous times. It was one of my favorite experiences with African food. Typically I get the same thing every time (Egusi with pounded yam, Efo Riro and Jollof), however things have been changing lately and the taste is far from where it began. Someone is cutting the pounded yam with potatoes or you guys are now using all potatoes but the fufu now tastes like a ball of potatoes and flour instead of pounding yam which have very distinct taste differences. The meat is now always tough and never tender and the spice level on the efo riro is never consistent. I'm not sure what's going on but a lot is changing and it's changing the quality of the food.
