Cafe Blackbird, Denison TX

Met someone here for an interview. Great atmosphere and good service. Coffee and food were decent. One complaint, it’s a breakfast place…. And they don’t open till 9am?

I absolutely love Café Blackbird. Their garden salad with Greek dressing, the Hippie veggie sandwich, and the Greek sandwich are among my favorite things to order. The portions are large, prices are very reasonable, and everything is fresh and delicious. The desserts are another major highlight - BEST cookies ever! I always just get my orders to-go, but need to hang out in there and dine in one day. Employees are always friendly, and I can’t recommend this place enough.

One of my favorite cafes! Prices are pretty good considering portion size and quality of food. There’s always a good variety of sandwiches and desserts on the menu. The new coffee bar is a big hit.

Cafe Blackbird was great! The ambience was warm and the food was delicious. When it’s warmer outside and the road construction has been finished, sitting outside is a must!

I was very disappointed when I came to Blackbird Cafe on small business Saturday. I wanted to support them, and their website showed they were open, but when I came to the restaurant it was closed. I was really looking forward to a toasted turkey sandwich, but I will have to find somewhere else for lunch. I wonder how much business they are losing today when the rest of Downton Denison is busy…?

Thank you for another amazing lunch. So far we have not been disappointed. Amazing salads. Unfortunately, we ordered the wrong sandwiches. Even so, they were very good. Thank you.

THIS PLACE IS SO GOOD! We got there right as the looked like they were closing (even though their Google posting says they close at 6PM & it was 145PM). We both got the Toasted turkey sandwiches & they were huge! So yummy - you can tell they have artisanal touches behind their items. We followed it with some sticky toffee pudding from the dessert case - which was AMAZING! We will be back & hopefully won’t feel like we gotta leave so soon after eating.

This is such a cute and family friendly cafe. We were big fans of the fresh bread and soups. The Greek quickly became our favorite menu item and they have great pastries and desserts. I was pleasantly surprised to see creme brulee one Saturday. Definitely worth stopping by.

Adorable place / atmosphere and excellent food! If I didn’t live an hour away I would be in a lot more often. My kids loved the specialty drinks- lavender latte I think? And chai tea was delicious. I am a big review reader, and also a small business owner myself- I have to say the only low reviews this place has seem to be about the staff not and customers not wearing masks - a year ago … ‍️ To me- that’s even more of a reason I will go out of my way to support this business now, and in the future. To the owners: keep doing what you’re doing!

Mostly sandwiches and salads. Chips available. Service was okay. I had a pimento cheese BLt. It was good.

Really good Chicken and Wild Rice Soup. Husband liked the Greek sandwich. For dessert Carrot Cake & German chocolate Pie.

Very tasty sandwiches all made with fresh ingredients. Soups, salads, unique sandwiches and numerous homemade desserts. First time for us, but definitely not the last!

Very beautiful atmosphere I downtown Denison. Great service and amazing super fresh foods.
