Our design consultant, Sue Bassett, knows the product well and designs beautiful spaces. We have used her to design closets, pantries, laundry rooms and bathrooms. She does amazing work and gave us every opportunity to use all the fun gadgets and make the project ours. I love my closets and pantries!

Consultant was very professional with great ideas and suggestions for 2 home spaces. Installation was professional and as planned.

I am an interior designer and had two closets designed for a client and ordered these in December 2020. It is august of 2021 and the closet still is not done. The rep Mariana we worked it was beyond incompetent and unprofessional, not to mention entitled and very cold and impersonal. We paid over $10000 for these very small closets and they have done nothing but provide an untimely, faulty design, shotty workmanship and poor overall customer service- from the rep, to the installers, to the scheduling manager. It’s all been a horrible experience. We have tried to escalate the situation to management, just to find them over stretched, and though polite for a change, have gotten zero done to help our situation. Still hoping to wrap this up within the year but who knows. Stay far far away.

The name says it all. They need to go back to where they came from…. And forced mask policy in late July 2021.

Our design consultant was great! She took the time to really help me design our space, and offered suggestions where needed. The issues started when the work was done. Considering the cost and reputation of California Closets, we expected more. We have/had what appears to be scrap pieces, uneven molding, separating molding, cracks, scrapes, and splits, as well as holes in our file cabinets from where the installer made mistakes. And, even though we were on schedule since early February 2021, our cabinet pulls were not available during installation on 17 May 2021. That was fine as they gave us temporary pulls, but the problem was the installer didn't have the hardware to install the last temporary pull, so we had to look at an empty hole in our build for the longest time. While most of these things were addressed and fixed over a month later on 23 June 2021, I can already tell we'll have to make at least one warranty call. Additionally, the scheduling department can use some improvement. It took forever to get a response on when our punch list items would be complete. No return phone calls.no return emails in a timely manner. It wasn't until I asked my design consultant for someone I could talk to that was above the scheduler that I got an answer. And from that point on, I'm almost sure my cell number was flagged as "do not answer" because when I did call to get an approximate arrival time for our punch list completion, no one returned a call to the voicemail I left. When I called two hours later, no answer again. But then when I called immediately back with my husband's cell, I miraculously got an answer. Very unprofessional.

While we do love our build.flaws and all, and the design consultant was awesome, I gave 3 stars because at the end of the day the customer service was not great. And to us, customer service is everything. Especially when you make a huge investment like this. We'll more than likely never work with California Closets again, unfortunately.

I have never done an online review. Not a great experience. The "designer" was pleasant and knowledgable, but struggled in returning phone calls, texts, and answering questions. Anything related to pricing was wrapped in mystery. We told the company, that our number one criteria for picking a company was being "easy to work with". They are not easy to work with; calls not returned, texts not returned, questions not responded to, zero follow-up. If they were hard to work with before signing the contract, we were fearful of them becoming "invisible" if we encountered any problems during the job. Buyer beware.

One of the worst experiences of our life. I would advise anyone doing business with this franchise to have a lawyer review and rewrite the contract before signing up. Our brand new never lived in home was flooded by them during the installation of their products and their insurance company was not very accommodating.

Nope. Do not expect professional customer service. After trying to submit an inquiry online (with my name address, and a description of the project), the scheduling tool would not allow me to make an appointment. I clicked "have someone call me" instead. This was a Wednesday. I immediately received rapid fire text messages, asking me for my address (which made me uncomfortable), and also several phone calls, and two emails also asking me for information I had already submitted. I expressed frustration with the aggressive pursuit (from Cassandra, Jean and Clara) and concern that the left hand has no idea what the right hand was doing, but i again provided my address and a description of the project via email. I asked for an appointment for about 10 days later. Jean Tracy responded that she would book it, but she again, needed my address and a description of the project.i did not hear back. Over the weekend I received voicemails from Cassandra and Clara to follow up on booking the appointment (that I believed had been booked). When I returned their phone calls, I left a message (again, providing my name, phone number, address, and a description of the project). Jean Tracy returned my call.she, AGAIN asked me for my address and a description of the project. I again expressed frustration that I had left that information in the voice mail i left earlier today, AS WELL AS via email to her on Friday, AND had provided it on the website last Wednesday. Jean Tracy then presumably reviewed notes and my email expressing concern, and said, "honey, if you aren't comfortable with our level of service why don't you find another closet company. " and THEN SHE HUNG UP ON ME. That's at least $10,000 for a closet with a potential of way more than that for the mud room that Jean Tracy lost for California closets. They obviously need the work given the number of people they have chasing potential clients.i'll pay twice that amount to any other closet company, but Jean Tracy and the Austin/SA franchise will never see a dime from me.

I love my office but didn’t enjoy my experience with the ‘designer’ or company at all. I was assigned Mariana but my husband and I designed our own office with some tips from her. The original design we were given looked like a vets office. Whatever, my real gripe is that after voicing a complaint the designer and company just cut off contact. At least tell me you think I suck and don’t want to replace my shelf or fix the design we agreed on. If you go with them it’s not too expensive and turns out pretty nice but you’ll get the bare minimum effort. I expected better because of the name.

Great job! Anyone ready to get their personal spaces organized should call California Closets.

Catherine came to our house to work with us on cabinets for our garage. She was incredible to work with! She was able to show us exactly how the cabinets would look on her tablet after about 10 minutes, and she was very patient with our changes.

I should point out that 2 other Garage Cabinet makers we got quotes from could only offer us standard sizes that would have not made the best use of our space.

I am so pleased with our experience with the staff at California Closet. After our visiting the store in Austin and meeting with Maria, she was very professional and knowledgeable when assisting our murphy bed design. As for the delivery, I was not at home, and I did not get their names. However, my husband stated that the delivery was efficient, smooth, and both guys were friendly and professional. Ms. Jean contacted us after the install for our feedback. Overall, I am pleased with our purchase, but I failed to think about lighting on the nightstands. Ms. Jean t informed me that she would forward the contact information of an electrician who could resolve the lighting issue. My only complaint would be the opening between the top of the bed and the wall unit; there is no back support, and the pillows easily fall through onto the floor.

Installed office space in a living room with vaulted ceiling. The tech (Billy) was professional, helpful and adroit at solving problems. First class. The company conducted itself in a highly ethical and professional manner and delivered on their promises. It is pricier than most, so "good value" is hard to determine, but I would definitely consider it a worthwhile value. I am very pleased with the finished results, could not be happier. Many thanks to all involved. Keep up the great business practice.

We hired California Closets to design and install a custom master closet In our new home. It is perfect! Sue Bassett the designer and Robert Gray the installer were very professional and on time. High quality with soft closing drawers and looks great. It was exactly what we envisioned. Highly recommend them!
