I recommended this apartment for everyone I’m just sharing my own experience since I’ getting this apartment. Staff was very helpful and supportive it took only 2 days for getting my approval for that staff was helped me a lot and when I moved in to the apartment. My apartment is so cleaned. Everything was perfect and easy access for gate and door visa mobile app. Overall I can give 100% for this … 5star

My service requests get fulfilled an hour or so after I submit them, which is the quickest I've ever experienced in an apartment. Shout out to the maintenance tech Hugo, he always gets the job done well and efficiently.

Hugo from the Camden maintenance team is fantastic. He makes quick work of whatever you need, and is incredibly kind and respectful of your place. He's also very good with dogs

Maintenance requests are few and far between. However, the times I have put in a maintenance request I was provided with swift responses and effective solutions. My last request was a simple issue with my garbage disposal which may be viewed as needing little to no urgency. Regardless, I was contacted immediately by one of the staff seeking to resolve my issue. Within a couple of minutes, Otto had fixed the issue, gave me a quick synopsis of the cause for the issue, cleaned up after himself and locked the door on the way out. Otto was friendly, down to earth, and professional throughout the entire process. Thank you Otto for your service to our small community.

Camden Shadow Brook is good. It’s a large complex with two pools, two gyms, dog park, and a big pond with center spray. Plenty of maintenance people, our repairs too about two days at most to get completed. People get packages stolen from their doors though. Seems to be frequent. No car break ins that I’ve heard about. Grounds are clean. Pool too.

UPD: they removed it, repost 07/22-05/23 (2.5 months early I moved out) Pre move in was great & Jonathan & Maggie have been super helpful and welcoming. I will not be resigning as I prefer having a home where there are no roaches/expensive utility fees.
If you are new to Austin (like I am) there are $20 in required fees on top of your utility bill (better roads, transportation, etc). Gas will be charged 1st few days by Camden not straight from the city; when getting gas and electricity, opt in for e-statements and a min payment to save you the fees ($75-$250) if you have never lived in Austin before. Water bill will be delayed from Camden- sent out every 2-3 months
info-
1. They use GAS & ELECTRICITY! They go through TGS, you will get charged for the 1st time fees no matter if you opt in for e statements, so CALL THEM & they’ll take the charges off
2. The application/applicant process was fast & you can get approved from there. Paid the fees & Moved in 2 weeks later, got a good price at the peak time of renting for 1 bed. (End of July)
3. You will have to call & set up your own gas&elect.before move in. (If you haven’t rented in Austin before, you will need to pay a $20 Fee for each servic.) Water is billed through the apt.by sub meter. You will also call provider to set up your free internet.
4. Required fees on top of rent ($67 tech pkg, $36 valet trash & $12 community fee
5. I got to see my exact unit during a tour & when I moved in the apartment itself, it was SPOTLESS. I deep cleaned before getting settled & there was hardly any dirt/grime.just lots of dust in hidden areas & some knats from not being occupied
6. Maintenance is super fast! Fixed within 3 hrs of request
7. You will get “free” internet through a “tech package” that is a required fee on top of rent.it includes internet, remote access throughout the entire complex. No keys are given except for your mail box key. Must use mobile app to open your front door (or set a keypad lock), to open gates, pool access, gyms. The app to open front door glitches every now & then so SET UP KEYPAD
CONS! -
1. Had a roach, ant & gnat problem the 1st week of move in. HUGE roaches and 1 baby roach was found, super gross! Put in a request for pest control- took 1 week for them to come. Pest control came & put GEL; roaches still here and so had to chat with the front office & they were helpful 2nd time around & brought out another pest control guy. Update: 2 1/2 months later- big outside roaches are back. It’s gross. Had to say I would move out if this problem didn’t get fixed/ they FINALLY brought in EXTERMINATORS! We keep our apt.super clean (I’m a germaphobe) they like to come from the restroom drains, but it’s nasty.
2. Had the middle door latch very loose & the wood came apart and (just like under the counter- wood pieces & chips fall off & wear down) Maintenance came to fix it but just put a weather strip down not solving the problem. I addressed it & the leasing staff addressed my concern super fast & had them come out again. This time it got fixed & turns out the security lock wasn’t locking as well and they fixed that. Thank you!
3. If you DO NOT set up your internet by the time spectrum emails you, someone WILL ENTER YOUR APARTMENT the next day UNANNOUNCED & walk into your room & set it up FOR YOU themselves. Update: management said it was a mistake from reading someones hand writing & they meant to go into another apartment.
4. They had 8 catalytic converters stolen within my 1st 3 weeks. TIP: Get your converter Painted for free at a shop. 5. People drive about 15-20 mph here-slow down! 6.fire alarms are super loud & extremely sensitive. If you have a ninja grill, it WILL go off every time you use the grill function
7. Valet service $30;yet they don’t come pick up your trash
8. The internet here is HORRIBLE! If you WFH 1-2 days a week, Just go in or go somewhere to work. Rep will say “& how often do you work for home? I hope you don’t” i told him I don’t (cause at the time I didn’t) & he said “oh good! Cause if you work from home the internet is not goof

This is the worse place I’ve lived because of management. Packages stolen off the porch, cars stolen, residents robbed, car parts stolen off of cars. Snakes throughout the property. Internet and valet trash are required. Internet is often down. Trash has been found thrown into bushes. Management says you will be fined if your trash is found. If you email to complain, you get no response. Pools have glass often so are closed. Gated community where gates often don’t work. Strangers are often seen walking into complex through broken gates.

The washing machine broke and the bath was clogged. Responses here are very slow. No matter how many times I email, they never come to fix it.
Roads are not very well maintained.

The only thing I didn't like was how high the rent was but you get what you paid for, we had a nice apartment and the community was nice and clean, truly a great place to live!

With my review, I want to warn everyone who is thinking about moving to this complex. For about a year we have been suffering from a terribly unstable Spectrum Internet connection. And Camden Shadow Brook is doing absolutely nothing to resolve the issue, while continuing to include a technology package in our monthly bills - we pay on time and in full. BUT The service is not provided properly! The Internet is interrupted 50-100 times during the day every day! You can imagine my nervous state for this entire period - a year! Spectrum employees came to my apartment a couple of times, but the Internet did not get better. But they said that they are testing a new speed on us.oh how cute.without our knowledge and consent, we became rabbits for testing, but at the same time we pay in full for a service that doesn't work properly - Spectrum Internet constantly disappears and the connection is not stable. If you work from home - this is not possible with such an Internet - video calls are constantly cut off, information is not downloaded or saved every time.
You can say that this is Spectrum's responsibility, but the residential complex does not give us an alternative and we cannot refuse this provider. We also don't pay Spectrum but Camden for the bills including this technology package (Internet). And this situation and attitude towards it does not add any loyalty and stars to the residential complex. Residents constantly write about problems with the Internet and management is aware of the problem. Camden left us alone with this problem.an absolute disappointment. The rest of the stay is pretty good. But after such an attitude, I'm not going to renew the lease.

UPD: In response to this comment the owner wrote "Last we had spoken, everything was functioning perfectly. If you need anything, please let us know! ". This is a lie. The fact is that 10 weeks ago (March 1,2023) I sent a Legal Notice to the owner about the below mentioned internet issues (to official email and in person). With connection logs as evidence. So far (May, 18 2023) I have no answer to it. And I had no ANY conversations with the owner on this.
Another proof of how things are done here.

Old message: Worst internet connection ever!

Just to be clear - on some days my internet logs show up to 200 connection breaks. Our internal community chat is filled with complaints from residents about a terrible Internet.
It`s going on almost for a YEAR and there is no prospect of a fix.
So if the Internet is important to you then think twice. You will pay for an included "technology package" that you cannot opt out of. And in addition you will pay for an alternative solution (wireless provider etc) from your pocket. But the real problem is that no alternative will give you high speed.

With this example you can imagine the quality of management here as well. As well as attitude to tenants. When more than a hundred families are forced to suffer for almost a year with a terrible Internet. And the management team don't fixes it. But they keep charging money for this service. No alternatives. No refund. Nothing.

So be prepared or just find another place to live.

I used to enjoy living here, but the constant crime, thefts, and internet going down (work remotely) is making it impossible to live here. Unless management starts taking residents concerns seriously, it’s never going to get better.
