Canyon Creek Memory Care, Temple TX

I toured this building and met the staff recently. They were all warm and welcoming. The Executive Director, Matt Peterson, really cares a lot about his staff and patients. The patients and staff all seemed so happy to be there, and what a cool place! ️

Great place live the staff they are so caring and dedicated! New management really changed the environment…highly recommend!

I placed my husband at Canyon Creek for respite care on two occasions. The first stay was not optimal, but I decided to try a second time (a month later) with more realistic expectations. Unfortunately, the lack of staff is a primary complaint. I only ever saw an aide on my husband's unit once. Usually, one aide was covering two units, or twenty patients. When we arrived for the second stay, my husband's room was not ready, at 2 pm with a week's notice. The staff said regional managers were there and they had not gotten to it. You would think if managers were there, they would have been on their best game as far as care, but sadly, no. On site director not helpful. On a really warm day, office area was air-conditioned, but patient rooms were really hot. Just not enough staff or care.

This business has a lawsuit against them. They have to go to the Temple Courthouse. The Judge needs to talk to the director of the facility.

You say I or any leaving a bad review is an upset employee yet 2 yrs after someone else leaves a similar review & you wright the same response then another leaves a negative review a few months ago (guess management didn't improve? Back when I personally did quit I kept in contact with a then still employee there & guess what we all have in common along with these others leaving negative reviews.this nursing home is horrible! Now I obviously can't say the others weren't bad employees (except the 1 I kept in contact with) but what I can & will say is that they are most likely telling the truth!

BTW atleast back when I was there for any visitors that came the manager would tell that room to be on their best behavior & to get it all cleaned up like if the big bosses were visiting a store & the manager tells all their supervisors to get their areas zoned is what basically happens here so don't necessarily be fooled by a clean looking area!

Management needs to supervise and hire more staff. The place is filthy and current staff cannot possibly care for those in their facility!

The staff is over the top, exceptional, snd treated my husband as if he was family. My husband loved them. He wasn't crazy about the food as he said it was cold most of the time. The facility is so clean and nice.
