I've been going here for about 5 years now. All of the staff and Dr. Briles were super friendly and incredibly professional. They treated my dog like he was one of their own pets. When my dog was sick and stayed overnight at the clinic, the staff called me everyday to give me an update on how he was doing. Absolutely love this veterinary clinic and don't plan on going anywhere else. I've been to other vets and they don't seem as approachable and loving as this place. They also give military discount. Thank you!

I've been taking my animal baby Hercules there since he was 8 weeks old. He's 2 & a half now & we both love it there. The doctors & other employees are kind and very helpful. If you want your animal baby to feel safe, secure, & well taken care of, this is the place!

Always have a great experience with the techs and vet here. My pup loves them and they are great with both my dog and cat. Very attentive and thorough and answer all my questions with a lot of patience.

Make sure you get pricing up front. They will nickel and dime you to DEATH! I've never experienced worse pricing except for maybe an emergency room.

I had an emergency this morning. Well a slight emergency and although they were fully booked Dr. Briles and his staff took me in with no problems at all. The technician was really really sweet and gentle with my dog and I appreciated that more than anything else. Dr. Briles is great. He gave me the meds I needed and found another issue upon his exam (Yes annual exams are very necessary). They are very reasonably priced for the quality of medicine they practice and I didn't have to wait that long.
Thank you Josepha for helping me.
Robert.

Dr. Briles and his staff are amazing! There are no long waits and he delivers great care and attention. Best of both worlds.

I moved from Pasadena to Humble and I was very nervous about taking my dog to a new vet. However, my first visit here really impressed me. After a couple of visits I can assure you that the doctor and staff were are very friendly and welcoming. My dog doesn’t get scared, in fact he gets excited whenever he sees he’s doctor and the staff. I also like the fact that they send you a cute post card to remind you of your dogs due services as well as a text message to remind you of their appointment.

I've been taking my baby boy to Dr. Briles for quite some time already and have never had an issue. Yes, some visits were emergency ones too. He, along with his staff, are very courteous. They always treat my pup with so much care and explain/show me details to where I understand what's going on! My Ozzy boy's favorite is the cheese treat he gets for being a good boy!

Pros:
- Affordability. Canyon Lakes is by far the most affordable veterinary clinic I've ever been to.
- Beside manner. From reception, to vet techs and the Dr. I've never felt like they're in a hurry or just there to clock in and clock out.

Cons:
- They tend to run a little behind. I've waited forty minutes for my appointment. It's not a huge deal. I get it - they can't possibly always know how much time each appointment is going to take. But it does get stressful for me trying to console my frightened cat for forty minutes after he's already been terrified in the car, and is about to be terrified from being poked and prodded by strangers. Dog owners.count your blessings. And honestly, maybe if they added 10 minutes to every appointment time, it would solve the issue, but they'd see fewer patients in a day, and then we'd all be complaining about how they never have appointments haha.

If I could give this place ZERO stars, I would! Most appalling "customer service" I've ever experienced! I'm wondering if the previous reviews are actual clients or just employees/friends/family!

One of my employees had to have her dog euthanized and, of course, that situation was horrible enough! I wanted to ease her burden by paying the $683 bill. I called to give my CC info and was told there would be a $20 surcharge because they were taking payment over the phone. I couldn't understand why I would be charged the additional fee and asked that it be waived. I completely understand the business would take this small loss out of a $683 bill. After I reminded them of the recorded message of "we give compassionate care, paw in hand". The lady said, "let me see what I can do".

While on hold for over 10 minutes, my employee is beeping in on the other line. Through her brokenness, she tries to explain about the $20. I was furious!

In their "compassion" and while the pet owner was still reeling from the entire situation, they thought it was a good time to ask for the $20? I I could NOT believe what I was hearing!

I told my employee not to worry about it.

I then called back and asked to speak to the office manager, again on hold for almost 10 minutes. When she returned to the phone, she said the office manager was busy and would call me back. I asked why she did what she did. She then told me that she had explained the situation to the Dr and the Dr was the one that told her to ask the pet owner!

This place needs a refresher on "compassion"! All over $20!?

My older dog, Frodo, was dying and I knew it. He ended up having Pancreatitis. Our usual vet said they won't see him, and all of the local ERs had 9 hour waits. Frodo didn't have that long. Dr Briles came in on a Sunday just for us, gave him meds, hooked him up to IV fluids, and had him on the mend within 24 hours. I will never go to another vet again if I can help it. He and his staff actually cares about the animals and will do whatever they can to help them and you! They deserve your business!

They are so great with Papi. My dog is not a fan of the Vet, but they make sure to give him all the loving and treats and hugs and kisses.
