Caribbean Cabana reviews
20Would absolutely recommend trying this spot. Exceptional ambience, yummy food, great service. Kudos.
Great island food! You will leave very full and very satisfied. Shrimp and jerk chicken were excellent. Plantains were good as well. Best bang for your buck at the farmers market.
I've come here a few times but it's honestly not as good as when I first came a year ago.
They no longer have the sandwiches and although their food is good, it's limited to their pies and platters with only select options available.
Visiting from NY and I absolutely felt transplanted back home. Goat roti was phenomenal and the macaroni pie. I’ll be back for more….
If I could make this 0 stars, I would. If you’re looking for tasty food then this place is not it. I had oxtails, rice, macaroni and cheese and plantain. The rice was too salty, the oxtail was overly cooked and the Mac and cheese was subpar. Maybe this is how trini people’s food tastes but if you’re used to Jamaican cuisine don’t waste your time and money! The wait is long and the prices are not worth it. The cashier lady also seems to be cold and in a hurry. Overall I do not recommend, trust I was raised on Jamaican food from New York.
The food was too sweet which I have had plenty food made from Trinidad. But that fish though was on point it was amazing. And then need to have regular roti. That roti dried up too quick which made it not good. Spend 80 bucks and we through it in the trash
The food is not fresh and for the amount paid for the proportion size was not enough. The roti was so dry the chick peas where tripled in size, and my man says it need way more potatoes, which I agreed. Disappointed for the first visit especially after driving over 30 minutes.
Food is great. Owners and staff are delightful. There are delivery options uber eats and grub hub, parking and seating can be tricky (this is the dallas farmers market). Also noticed the full menu isn't available for online orders. Basically it's best to order onsite and prepared for a wait.
The food and atmosphere here is the best! This place makes you feel like you're in the Caribbean Islands! Only thing is that the oxtails are sweet I think they are soaked in Cocunut milk are something so I had to add lots of spicy hot sauce because I like my oxtails spicy. Didn't care for the other sides but the rice was good and firm. Location is good.
I had the beef patties, rice and peas, and cabbage. The food was so good. I’m tempted to buy a dozen patties and freeze them for later.
I believe they try very hard but there curry was just ok, there Skin's was different I appreciate what they are doing.
Got there 15 mins before they closed today. Stood inline 5 mins and them was told they was closed. SMH.you cant support all of us
****update****first of all, i apologize for not having any pictures of my food.the reason is i was too busy eating.i had fried fish, sautéed spinach, apple cole slaw and macaroni pie and they were all delicious and FRESH!
i did get a picture of my man’s food cause he ate it later…. Oxtails, plantains, rice and peas and cabbage and carrots.again, delicious.
I go hear often for lunch. It’s always been good quality. My favorites are the Jerk Chicken Patty and Vegetable Patty, $3 each. The jerk chicken plate is great too
Some of the best Caribbean food out there! Curry shrimp, doubles, bake and shark are all delicious dishes. Great customer service as well.
When I come here, I’m getting the oxtail plate with macaroni pie and rice and peas, or I’m getting those tasty chicken curry patties.
WHATEVER I choose, it’s literally gone in 20 minutes.
Sometimes it is hit or miss for me with the staff - like sometimes they’re friendly and other times it seems as if they’re there just to take the order.
Sometimes the oxtail is very meaty and other ones the oxtail are small.
Aside from those I always love visiting this place to get my fix for Caribbean food.
I have had Carribean food before, heck I even cook it. This food was a waste of my time, and money, I spent driving and waiting to get the it. Then it was too salty and what was not salty lacked flavor. To much allspice, I could go on but I'm not. Just don't go here expecting good Carribean food!
The food here is terrible maybe this is what Texans like to eat but as a Caribbean and New Yorker this ain’t it. Very disappointed and surprised how many people like it but then again there’s no authentic Caribbean food here so it’s not like people really know how things should taste.
Who ever is the cook I can tell they not from the Caribbean.this place is an imposter. The curry chicken roti was salted down and the meat wasn't even curried along with the chickpeas. The oxtail was sweet. NEVER heard or ate sweet oxtails in my life before today. Cabbage was old tasting and the macaroni pie was bitter like they used stale cheese. I'm from the Caribbean and this is NOT how our food taste.
First time there.customer service was very professional.food was hot and tasted good.we'll definitely be back, thank you.
