Carlos and Mickey's Mexican Restaurant & Cantina reviews
17Best shredded beef tacos and red and green enchiladas. Must stop EVERY time we come back home to El Paso.
Everything was good! Delicious! Wonderful! My first time here with my husband & we will definitely be having our date nights here! I had heard about their Texas sized margarita drinks & boyyyyy did that hit the spot! Our waiter was great, told him it was our first time here and he delivered the best service and explained the drink menu along with other things. The food was fresh & hot just how I like it! Service was quick, no complaints! Thank you!
In town traveling through. Got this place recommended by a local. Great food and equally great service. Sizeable portions also! I'll definitely be back when I come to town next.
My wife n I took my mom and dad for dinner for my moms bday! The food was delicious and on point! Our server was Adrian. He was funny, courtesy and was on top of our food and drinks. Its a great place to make sweet memories w love one.
They really out do themselves with the carnitas portion. 4 cubes with 2 green onions and a small scoop of white rice. Great plate.
Manager at this location does not even know the menu. I ordered pork tip nachos. Their site lists the pork tip nachos as including guacamole sauce and salsa borracha but they never include them. This has happened multiple times. When this was brought to their attention they argued stating it did not include them despite the menu description. You are better off going to one of the hundreds of other less touristy Mexican joints in El Paso, they can at least get an order right.
Ordered the albóndigas and the soup was salty. Three albóndigas and 2 pieces of carrots is all I got. The rice portion was in a fourth of a cup. Ordered 2 quesadillas and they were hard and dry. No spoon or napkins were inside my pickup order. Definitely not worth the price.
Food excellent, servers were pretty good. I like the overall atmosphere. The chile rellenos and enchiladas are our favorites. The chips and salsa they serve are also excellent. We were so happy to find this spot as its hard to find good Mexican food in a Mexican restaurant heavy city. Thankfully not a ton of cheese and grease is served with the food and the food is plated well. I compare it to Abuelos if you've ever had that restaurant, a kind of more upscale Mexican.
The queso and chili relleno sauce tasted like the canned version.
Margherita
Vegetarian enchiladas were pretty good too!
Server was struggling to keep up, carry a notebook and stop trying to remember.
Really enjoy coming to this restaurant. Drinks are great, service is awesome and the food has been fantastic each time.
Place was empty but we had to wait 1 hour to be sat while there were 7 tables that were available. We sat at the bar and some of our friends sat at an empty bar table but were quickly told that the table was reserved. Mind you, Carlos and Mickey’s does not take reservations. Then the hostess immediately placed napkins and utensils on the table but no one ever sat there. Weird. Besides all that, the bartenders were amazing! They offered better customer service than the hostesses. Won’t go back.
I miss this place. The strawberry margaritas are to die for and their black beans with real hunks of yummy pork. Atmosphere is great especially when they have the mariachis or live music in the lounge. So good!
I really liked the attention and the food was very tasty, we ordered some meat fajitas and flour tortillas, they were delicious
This was my first dining experience at Carlos and Mickey's. The food was amazing, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was that of a family gathering.
Service was great. Food was good. Unfortunately this place is missing a very simple popular dish, red chili Colorado (amongst other names).
The red sauce is too spicy & not having an option for less spice makes it difficult to order most of their dishes. The salsa is ridiculously spicy!
Carlos & Mickeys is a staple of El Paso.
The food is definitely what you would expect. The service is spectacular and the atmosphere is relaxing. My wife and I eat here once a week. Would recommend to all of my friends.
