CarMax reviews
26I’m very disappointed. I’m sure several have a fantastic experience, and I dislike writing a 2 star review, but our entire car buying experience from CarMax was awful. Nothing went smooth, and just when we thought we got one probables resolved, we would have another issue.
I can honestly say the entire car buying process was excellent. Ane was very professional and courteous. However, now 8 months later I'm regretting my purchase. The tire sensors were bad a had to be replaced courtesy of CarMax within the first 30 days. Since then, my check engine light has been on 4 different times, one of which my catalytic converter had to be replaced. I was pretty much forced to go to another dealership for the service because CarMax had no sense of urgency to repair my vehicle. I reached out to my salesperson Ane with my concerns and all he did was apologized. Now my car is back in the shop. I'm just feeling tricked and defeated. The vehicle only had 54,000 miles when I purchased it, so I dont understand why I'm having so much trouble with this vehicle and having to spend so much money. I'm contemplating trading the car in somewhere else.
I bought my current car at a CarMax in another city. I'm trying to purchase a new car but this CarMax is difficult to deal with. I keep getting emails and text about my offer, then told in the messages the next step is for an agent to contact me. No agent has contacted me. I have attempted to call the dealership 4x & never get an answer all I get is hold music for over an hour. This location could take some trainer/customer service tips from the Fort Bend/Richmond location. Their service was impeccable! This locations customer service.none existant.
I had just bought a brand new jeep from Huffines and I had a horrible experience took my niece to get a car and wish I couldve took my car back and got one from car max. Ive been advising everyone I know got to car max.
Worst customer service overall at every level. Manager (s) are rude and way unprofessional. APPOINTMENTS ARE WORTHLESS. ‘Business Office’ is the one you wanna stay away from. I recommend to stay away from the whole gimmick of CarMax. I had an appointment to sell car, was appraised and test driven for 3 times by different people at same location. Took them 9 hours to check me out. I was told, if I leave the place, offer is NOT valid. No Seven day is truth, it’s all GIMMICKS. STAY AWAY.
Had a great car buying experience with Sarge. Great personality, seemed like he actually liked his job. I was greeted upon entering and the process was simple and quick. There was a small mix-up with my car being at another location but they brought it over to me quickly. Sarge, Felecia, Fahad and Kevin were great! If you’re in the market for a car, I would recommend this location.
Smooth sailing all the way from the initial contact through driving away in my new car. I will always look to CarMax in the future.
I purchased a Cadillac as a gift for Christmas. I got about 3 miles down the road and the car started making loud sounds. The check engine light came on, and the car stopped while I was on the middle of the freeway! So I would say this was a pretty negative experience.
I ended up being able to drive the car back to the dealership going about 40mph (because that’s as fast as the car could go without shutting down).
They offered a rental to compensate, but it ruined the element of surprise for Christmas.
The salesman suggested it was my driving. The floor manager, was little to no help, and both myself and mother in law found him to be very rude and non managerial like.
The manager offered 3 free oil change coupons, but when he handed me the coupons it was just a percentage off of a oil change. It wouldn’t have covered the full cost of an actual oil change.
I felt pretty bummed, and utterly frustrated! I am just thankful that the car was able to be returned before I handed it over a gift.
The mechanic followed up the next business day stating that the fuel pump was leaking and they were unsure how long it would take to fix.
When I arrived to return the vehicle the same floor manager Cam chose to ignore us. I feel like the failed on the customer service aspect.
At that point I just wanted to have my money refunded.
I went to another Carmax location bought a car with no issues and better customer service.
Purchased a car on 11/30/20. Sales Consultant was Sarge Cox. Great experience there all the way around. I had a pre-approval ready to go, so it was just a matter of driving the car I wanted. Everything went smoothly. No sales pressure during the buying process. In and out in around 2 hours. I would highly recommend Mr. Cox to anyone buying from this particular CarMax location.
I must say. HORRIBLE experience. I came to get my car serviced after I was sold a car with a cracked windshield. THE IRVING location was awful. I called to make an appointment at a time when the glass people were not here. Why wasn't I told that when I made the appointment? They were so rude to me after I bought a $20k car! I WILL NOT BE RETURNING TO CARMAX EVER AGAIN!
Great, quick service. If you go there knowing what you want to get done, the staff will help you accomplish your goal as efficiently as possible.
Okay but high miles on the vehicles, sorry but no one can beat Grubbs with low miles and still manufacturer warranty on a used car. CarMax need to go to Grubbs Nissan school.
Been there for about 1 hour was completely ignored by whole sales team even when confronted. NEVER COMING BACK!
Great service! Sly Murillo was my sales representative he is very knowledgeable, professional, fast and didn't push me at all to purchase a vehicle. I like the fact that you have 5 days after you purchase the vehicle to trade it inn for another one if something better comes up in their lot or just getting out of the deal completely.
Jojo Jojo Jojo joke joke joke joke why people buy cars from these people I have no idea overpriced average quality and those are not professionals
I honestly have to say, I wasn't expecting the experience I had with CarMax. Buying a vehicle can be an excruciating process for some. It was for me at least, I had to go up there multiple times for it to take a bit longer. However, the salesperson I had was great at getting me in and out of there with the vehicle I wanted, despite the horrible lenders side of things. If you go up there, ask for Elliot. He'll take care of you.
Purchased a good vehicle at a great price. Treated well with no high pressure salesperson. Definitely worth considering.
Excellent customer service fast friendly service got us close to our price range and made the experience as painless as possible Richard was the best car sales person I have dealt with in my car buying experience
Under renovation, but "long time staff" act like this is a new business. Not well informed, or able to do thier job well.
Unique car buying experience without the haggling, fair prices and great service plans available.
