CarMax, Houston TX

This place is terrible. They screwed me on 2 different cars. There’s literally NO WAY they do 15 hours of inspection along with passing a 125 point inspection after my experience with them. I was lied to repeatedly about the quality of car I was buying. They clearly only did temporary fixes to the issues on BOTH cars I got. I returned the first and got a newer one and guess what? Within 24 hours it’s making noises from all over. It makes a creaking noise every single time i accelerate OR stop. Also the rim was already bent when they sold it to me so the front right tire was going flat the moment I drove off. This is a TERRIBLE place to get a car. I would literally buy a car from Craigslist in Chernobyl before I ever even think about spending another penny with Carmax.

Salesperson Lisa: lackadaisical, not a true salesperson at all. Manager on duty at 8: 30 pm this evening was rude and did not introduce himself, just came over with a curt "I understand you had some questions" and interrupted me while I was speaking. This was going to be my 2nd car from Car Max, due to I paid off and still drive my 1st one but I am giving it to my son. Tonight I was being hassled, haggled, harassed by having to not only show proof of child support income, but proof of my court ordered amount of child support due to I received more than the normal amount last year through wage garnishments. Not less than I reported, but more. This location is an absolute nightmare, waste of time, unprofessional and rude. Lisa yelled out to me as we were leaving that I could have removed the child support income from my application. She could have suggested that before I had to keep logging into accounts online to print out multiple confidential statements that have no bearing on my employment income or the approval of my credit application. I also have 2 inquiries on my credit for the next 2 years from the same finance company due to a duplication in credit apps because I submitted one online that was approved and Lisa put in another one in the store, even though she was well aware that I was already approved. Ya'll need to do better.

My experience with CarMax was wonderful! I used their online system to get an estimate for selling my car, made an appointment, and sold my car to them. The process was super simple. We probably took about 45 minutes from start (since I walked in the door) to finish (leaving CarMax).

Nice priced cars and extremely nice workers there. I went to have a service done and they completely forgot about me, but they made up for it. Very polite people.

I was intended to see another salesman, however he was out sick. I was referred to another salesman who had sold a car to my mom previously. Excellent customer service! Great experience.

I will go back to carmax for my next car purchase. I love how laid back the sales person Chris was with me. He wasn't pushy, or in a huge hurry, and he wanted to make sure that I was satisfied with the vehicle I chose. It was cold and dark and he was still all smiles throughout the entire process. My sister has bought 2 cars from carmax and she recommended it for me. I recommend carmax to anyone looking for a stress free car buying experience.

Used cars more expensive than anywhere else I've been. Doubt that I will ever use their services, but I had to go look. Last two NEW cars were cheaper.

Super helpful, esp.for people with no credit! They got me driving a car I love with a down payment that I could afford, the same day I walked in. Awesome experience, I highly recommend CarMax

My CarMax experience was quick, friendly and I left with the car I went there to get. As soon as I walked in I was greeted with a smile and assisted right away. The people are amazing! I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a car at a reasonable price. Very clean, that includes the restroom. Not only did I buy a car I had one appraised and received more for it than I thought I would it. I sold it to them with ease. Loved my entire experience.

I wasnt completely satisfied. Tires were not completly aired up so the first error message was the tires.

Overall my experience was very good, even though I was a little nervous about buying new vehicle (My first) the only complaint i had was with the detail job they did which was taken care of reasonably quickly considering the holidays

I can not believe that there are good reviews for this dealership. Most likely it was written by their employees and friends to raise their review ratings. Just STAY AWAY from this dealership. They are unethical with bad business practices. They will low-ball you and try to steal your car by claiming problems that do not exist.you have been warned! The lowest rating is 1 star unfortunately, otherwise I will give them none.

With a Jeep that was giving up the ghost that day I was way stressed out. They were cordial and very patient. The customer service was top notch

Well I needed a car in a hurry. It has a hugh selection and I purchased one, then drama.no compromise anywhere on this lot nor business office, but exceptable, til service dept. Too many problems they're not in the people business at all. Too much We don't do this and that. Wish I knew within my 1st 30 days.

It was the smoothest car buying experience I ever had. I knew I already was approved, how much, and for which car. Coming from anianot state to start a new job can be hard. They worked with me remotely. When I came in the car was ready for me. Of course paperwork is a long process but I was out in about an hour and a half. Not too. Bad. I bought the warranty too.

We found an awesome car right before they closed on a Friday night. When we went back the next day we changed our mind about the car and tried a different style car. We truly loved the no hassle, up front transparency during the entire shopping experience. Samuel Wilson was our sales rep. He was friendly, efficient and an all around delightful salesperson.
