Caro's Mexican Restaurant reviews
20I absolutely love the puffy tacos here. Great prices. Only cons, the sodas are either in a can or bottle. To go cups are. 50.
The concept of the puffy items is great, the ground beef is completely off base, wierd texture and flavor. The meat over powers everything and it is on everything. Dont think I will be back.
We ALWAYS have lunch at Caro's when we are in RGC! This time I had the Chicken Fajita Salad! It is fantastic! It was light not greasy and very flavorful! Try it! You will like it!
Omg their red chile sauce is delicious. I got cheese enchiladas and I'm picky as hell on my spanish rice and red sauce. Both were soooo good. Definitely coming back for dinner while we are in town.
First time in, sweet tea has a lot of sugar the salsa from chips is from a can not home made and flour tortillas not what expected they are not home made things like this in a Mexican restaurant make me not to never come back.
The service was outstanding. The food was okay. I liked the puffed tacos and the enchilada but wasn't fond of the salsa, the chalupa or their beans and rice.
Had a wonderful gathering with family at the best Restaurant in the Rio Grande Valley! Always enjoy ordering the Chicken Taco Plate and Mixed Tostadas Guac/Cheese. The hostess and wait staff are always courteous and friendly.
I highly recommend the puffy tacos. I haven't seen them anywhere else. This place isn't your Mama's Taco Bell. Service is outstanding.
Best place in town and a few towns over.
Grew up coming here and every time I'm in town it's my go-to for lunch and dinner.
I always get the same plate. This last time that I went the chicken breast was super dry I couldn't even eat it. I did let the waiter know. She didn't say anything. I told the lady that charged me and she said well no one has complained about it. So what was I doing. She also said she had it and it was dry and that they had changed the brand of chicken they used. So why not take it off go back to the old chicken? Or do something about it? Why even serve it to customers. I didnt even get an I am sorry ma'am nothing. Ridiculous. They charge almost 20$ for the plate and drink and they can't give us a good piece of chicken.
Can't go wrong here. It's probably the best place to go to lunch in RGC. Service is always great and there are no complaints on the food. It always comes piping hot and delicious.
The food is fantastic, but all these full on florescent lights make me NOT want to go in there.
I was in the area and rembered Caro's is known for the puffy tacos. Didn't disappoint. This is the only place South of San Antonio, I know of that has the puffy tacos.
The Food was pretty good, it was hot, tasty, well seasoned and well cooked. The service, well it can improve but overall it was pretty good.
The food looked like dog food. The service was good, the waitress was great! The enchiladas, were the pits! Never going back! Not recommended. Or! Just don't order enchiladas, of any kind!
Charro beans were excellent. Medium steak was tender, juicy and well seasoned with a perfect grilled flavor. The chicken breast was tender and moist, fork tender at that. The sopapillas were perfect and crispy. The cheese enchilada was tasty and cheesy. The salsa was flavourful and with a touch of bite. I thoroughly enjoyed this food. Nice enviroment inside.
They serve puffy tacos here! They are so delicious! They also have puffy tostadas as an appetizer! Great service & food!
They charge $2.50 for making changes on any item without letting know. And $2.50 for each flour tortilla. Service was not great at all.
Food was good overcrowded too many tables to tend no enough waiters and waitresses to tend to your needs need to hire a few more hands when groups of 20 or more have tables reserved they pay more attention to bigger groups thinking of the bigger tips
The waitress was not friendly, the place was packed and short-staffed and we visited from out of town. A family member raved about this place and it's so embarrassing when you have a bad experience because we had such high expectations. The food was good. Love the puffy stuff.
