Maria my hygienist is so amazing & kind…great at her job & her chair side manner is on point! I highly recommend! Dr. Ortiz was also very kind in his approach as I am fearful of the dentist office! Great experience…thanks to everyone in the front office too…
Jenny has been my dental hygienist for several years. I actually look forward to my visits because I get to see her and we catch up on things going on I our lives. She is a jewel to have on your staff at the San Marcos location.
Such an amazing group of talented professionals and staff. I came in for a cleaning on Tuesday then back on Thursday for whitening! Jenny was brilliant and now I’m going to enjoy the rest of the holidays smiling as big as I can! My teeth look like they did in high school!
Maria, the dental hygienist was marvelous. She checked and cleaned my teeth with the softest touch.
Dr. Ortiz has a gentle touch when examining your teeth and is very patient in explaining what he sees.
I have been visiting Carus Dental in San Marcos for many years. Although there are many dentists in and around where I live, I choose to stay with Carus. Dr. Ortiz is very kind, caring and Professional. Ashley his Assistant is also very friendly and professional as well as the front desk staff. I love this place!
Staff is wonderful and they make you feel comfortable. They don't rush they take there time and do there dental work right. Friendly and everything in a timely manner.
Everyone is very professional. They clearly explained when was going to happen. They clearly explained what they were recommending and why. They gave me what my cost would be for all the services!
Very disappointed! Went in for a routine cleaning and came out feeling like i was taking advantage of.place is very outdated and are just looking to make money!
Coming from the military this was different. I don’t know why they needed X-rays to do a simple cleaning but it was fine. They were professional and courteous.
Pretty disappointed in their customer service. I came in this morning for a routine cleaning, but no doctors were in the office for the day - just hygienists. So they told me I needed to come back again in the next couple weeks for a short oral exam that only the doctor can do. I wish they would have called and asked if I wanted to reschedule since no doctors were in office today! Now I have to take time out of my schedule to do a 30 minute routine exam another day. Their staff is friendly, but I would not recommend this place unless you like mediocrity!
4/26 update - I was called today being asked for pay a portion of a bill that was missed from 15 months ago. Unbelievable!
Old, dated facility and equipment. They suggested invasive, expensive, unnecessary procedures to get more out of our insurance. The staff was courteous but kept rescheduling our appointments due to staff being ill, etc. In all, very negative experiences for myself and husband.
This was my fourth visit to the office today. My first three visits weren’t great but at the time I found them, I had 6 weeks before my insurance ended so I rolled with the subpar doctor to accomplish my goal. Now that that particular doctor is gone, I called to schedule a cleaning and showed up at the time we agreed upon. Work began IMMEDIATELY when I sat down WITHOUT any explanation of what was going to happen or how much it was going to cost. After my gums were measured (not a normal cleaning procedure) the tech stopped and decided that that was the time to go over the cost and actual happenings of the day. I sat up and asked to speak to the insurance professional on deck. She was “on the phone” and couldn’t come help me in the patient room. I told my tech I didn’t like how things were being handled and went to find the insurance professional. She explained in detail why my cleaning was now a “periodontal maintenance” visit which I challenged as the new “policy” was basically a way to upcharge my time there. THIS PRACTICE DID NOT LISTEN TO ME AND PUT HANDS ON MY BODY WITHOUT EXPLAINING TO ME WHAT OR WHY THEY WERE DOING WHAT THEY WERE DOING. What we are not going to do in the year of our lord 2023 is touch people without consent and telling them why we are touching them. Nope, do not go here.
Everyone was so welcoming. Dentist Ortiz and staff explained my situation clearly and the next plan of action for my teeth. Made sure I understood how to correct it. And had insurance sheet on what was covered and my out of pocket portion. Will definitely use them as our permanent dentist going forward. Great service and very knowledgeable.
Melissa the hygienist is the best. Very thorough and informative. She also gentle!
Update: Melissa has restored my faith in dentistry. She's the best hands-down!
Two years ago, scheduled day after New Years. Dentist was late. Was asked if I was willing to wait. Said yes. DIFFERENT guy shows up to do my cavity. He must have been fresh out of school or just hung over, kept swapping finishing drill bits complaining about them being dull. Also seemed like he was running that drill bit over more teeth than he was supposed to be working on. Never went back.
A few weeks ago: Figured I'd try again. Emergency pain. Scheduled Feb 14. Got called a few hours before to reschedule. Lol. I guess "emergency pain" didn't matter.
When they reply to these reviews with "talk to us privately" I just laugh. No one reads that as a response and takes it as a good sign. Canned corporate responses only show you their true nature.
