We were disappointed. The service was good, our waitree was nice but the food was not authentic and lacked flavor. The guacamole was smashed Avocado with nothing else. Not what you would expect from a Mexican restaurant.

Can’t say I’d recommended this place to anyone in the future. My family and I showed up around 7: 45pm and didn’t sit until 8: 30pm and then didn’t get our food till after 9pm. The place was half empty and it took them forever to find us a table for 8. I’ve worked in the industry and it shouldn’t take that long to sit people especially so late at night with the restaurant half empty. The food and service were terrible. My chicken tacos were soggy as well as the waitresses attitude while taking our order and who never even bothered to check on us until she wanted us to pay.
If your kitchen and staff can’t keep high standards of food presentation and customer service late at night then you shouldn’t stay open so late. Instead we left with half empty bellies and your wallet was fatter for it. Thanks for nothing casa rio.

The location is great, but the food was horrible! I ordered the chicken flautas and spat out the first bite. Sick!

Riverside Mexican restaurant with everything you could want. The fajitas were great. Huge portions and very tasty. Beware of the hot salsa, it will set you on fire! Loved it since spicy is the way to go in South Texas.

Wonderful dining experience by the river. The staff is friendly and the food is good. It's so about the experience.

Did not eat there. But the bar was ok. Female bartender was not too friendly or had much of a personality. We went for the Dia de los Muertos parade.

We were excited to try this place based on how people raved about it but were disappointed! Food was mediocre. My favorite part was the margaritas and they were only decent. Guac was ok. My sister got the fajita plate and said her chicken tasted like it was frozen. Go anywhere else lol

Great food. We had about 60 people for an event. They did it without a hitch and with utmost professionalism.

Great food! Great service! Great prices! I'm not typically a huge fan of Mexican food, but this was delicious!

The food here is great it really has an old Mexico taste it's worth the wait it is a bit disorganized but it's in a high foot traffic visitors area on the river walk

This is a high volume eatery on the river walk, as they themselves admit on their menu. The food is priced decently but not 5 star quality

Wonderful dinner! It's been a long time, but we finally paid the $15 to park since we love Casa Rio. Enchiladas still as tremendous as we remember! Our server started out great but forgot about us when we were ready to leave.

It was fine. There are for sure better Tex-Mex places in San Antonio, but if you’re trying to experience the whole River Walk thing and want to go here, the food is good. Nothing mind blowing. Definitely not quite worth the hour wait. But again, if you want to eat in the River Walk, it’s fine.

We put our name in and walked around and got a drink from one of the little pop-up bars. The River Walk was so crowded just fighting through the crowds helped the hour pass quickly. We didn’t get to our table until 9: 30 pm, but because they were closing in 30 minutes we actually had very quick service! We started with drinks - I got a “spicy” margarita which was basically just a regular margarita with Tajin on the rim. If there was any jalapeño in the actual drink, I could not taste it. This was a negative for me, but could be a positive for some people. For food, most of us got enchiladas. I will say the refried beans and rice were GREAT. I got vegetarian enchiladas and they were good! Just nothing that I would go out of my way to eat again.

Basically, I would only come here if you really want tex-mex on the River Walk. If you want GOOD tex-mex, I would look for something away from the crowds. Not really worth a special trip just for this, but fine if you’re in the area and don’t mind waiting a while for your table.

When we checked in for a table we were told it would be 30-50min wait. When I went to check on the time I was told it would be 1 hour and 30min wait. When I explained to the attendant that’s not what I was quoted at all his response was to say regardless it’s an hour and 30min wait. He didn’t even any to help resolve this issue. I had heard good things about this place but I will never be back.
