Catfish Cove, Mesquite TX

I don't like Swai but the shrimp was good. While it was crisp and well seasoned it's just unfortunate that Catfish isn't served here!

Just picked up an order here! Whatever you do, DO NOT GET A TAKE OYT ORDER! You will be ripped off. I literally ordered a side of okra with catfish and got 5 pieces of okra for an up charge of $1.25l Management needs to be changed again! DO NOT EAT HERE!

Back in the day this place was good eating now under new management it’s over price and over cooked the fish fillet was to hard to eat all that breading with no fish. The salad bar was to hot they use to have ice under the food now the coleslaw was bad smelling & the other food looked gross. The floor need clean & painted the owner is the cook, waiter and bus boy they need help only 4 people are there and two are working. Nothing in the menu online is true they sell less food for more money. He has the name of Catfish Cove but not the food or the customer service run don’t walk it’s not worth your time or money

Don’t stop, KEEP GOING! This place is not what it use to be under this new management. We ordered the fish boxes for $6 and it was horrible. This is NOT catfish at all, likely one of cheapest fish you can purchase for a restaurant to cook. The fish was rubbery, and hard, as if we were eating plastic, and it looked like plastic. The hush puppies were hard as a rock and taste like the fridge. Fries were ok. Back in the day this place was good and popping, but those days have come to an in. The floor was sticky, prices high, and I wouldn’t dare eat from the country bar. Management seemed nice, and they have kids for waitresses. I would advise you look elsewhere for seafood, because this place is not it!

Extremely hot, no A/C at all, uncomfortable to have to keep wiping sweat while eating.over priced for this type of atmosphere.salad bar was not all that.will not go back

Had catfish fillets with fries & salad bar. Food was good but took sometime to get it. Thought maybe a pond out back. Salad bar is more of a side bar. Building needs some work but it’s spacious seating. I’ll give it another try.

Worst food ive ever ate dawg i got chicken tenders and it tasted like muddy catfish and they gave my grandpa the wrong order then brought his order out and the shrimp wasnt fully cooked bro could have died LMAO imma be real dont waste yalls time go get sum real good food love yall stay safe out there fr the floor also sticky as hell but the walls look cute imma be real my waiter was such a sweetheart tho no hate to her AT ALL i adore that woman

We were greeted at the door and promptly seated. It was a little warm for me but to be fair it was 107 outside.
The food was delishious. I'm always reluctant to get slaw but I took the chance and was pleasantly surprised. It was not too vinegar-y and tasted great.
There was a nice mix of music playing and our waitress was just the right amount of attentive. We will definitely be regulars.

The worst service and food I ever had. It was cold and horrible and tasted awful, and I would have given a zero if I could have.

Great food and incredible prices. Friendly staff make you feel at home. They have bargain deals daily.

The only complaint I have was the music.food good and my service was great! It’s under new management but it was my first visit so I have nothing to compare it to.

Hushpuppies were hard way over cooked catfish tasted like dirt peasalead tasted spoiled overall quality was very disappointing will not be back used to be one of my favorite for catfish only good point was the service

We have been to catfish cove a few times now. The food is authentic and tasty. Sometimes it can take a bit to get your food because they cook it fresh to order. Despite that the service has always been awesome and the man who is usually there is just the most friendly guy. We will continue to return.

My husband wanted to try a different (to us) catfish place, we were promptly seated upon entering the door and our server was great! I ask a lot of questions when I am at a new place because I want something that I will like and who knows the food products better than the employees. My husband told me to quit asking so many questions but our server was patient with me and helped me decide. We carried our plates to the salad bar to gather the Cole slaw and items on the salad bar that we desired but once I looked into the first few products, there were gnats dead inside the food products. I looked in the Cole slaw and there were gnats in that as well. By this time, I was certain that I needed to look carefully as all of the items coming to my table. When I received my order, I was not expecting the dark meat but that’s exactly what I received and the catfish was rubbery. It appeared and tasted undercooked. I tried not to bring attention to the unnoticed bug issue they had so I waited until I could speak with the owner away from others so he could correct the issue. He was thankful that I let him know and went over to correct the issue. I know that things happen beyond one’s control but someone should continually observe their salad bar to prevent such instances from happening or find out a system that works to improve the exposure to food products. I did not eat my meal nor anything on the salad bar because of these issues but I still paid for my meal as if I had. As a previous restaurant owner myself, I would have been a little more inquisitive and tried to leave a much better customer impression before the customer was gone forever but hopefully he will read this review and make the improvements for the next customers to have a better experience. He seemed like a nice man, and it doesn’t mean that he is doing things wrong by not doing them the way I handled things at our restaurant but I would suggest reflecting on this experience and finding every way possible to make improvements. I love to see a restaurant succeed. We had to close due to my health but had a booming business up until I almost died. I wish them the best and hope they improve.

Great place to eat fried whole catfish, best in the area. I've been coming here for years. I live about 40 minutes away, but the food is worth the drive.

Floor was so sticky I think I brought some home with me.the worst experience I ever had there, used to be a good place to eat catfish but will never be back

Used be a good place for catfish, but I can't say that anymore. I will not be going back. I don't know what is wrong with their floor, but I nearly lost my shoes walking across it.
