Catfish Village of Waskom reviews
16I had the filled dinner. The fish was very dry. Took 1/2 a glass of tea to wash ot down. Neither the fish or the fries were hot. A bad experience that I will not have here again.
Been twice lately. Went this past Saturday the fish is not good anymore especially the fillet. Has no seasons and very dry. The time before that I had bad service from a waitress and picked another waitress. Went to the manager with the issues. Even though we travel far to get their he offer no remedy for the issues. Will not be going back.
The catfish wasn't bad it was just the atmosphere was so boring I expected a little bit more on the menu and you couldn't substitute anything
I'm used to eating at Catfish King in Texarkana. I now live in Shreveport and was driving back from Canton when we stopped to get a to go order. I was very disappointed in the fish. It was overcooked and hard to eat. Spent $50.00 and it wasn't worth $10.00. Won't be going back!
We had dinner there for the first time. We had an onion ring appetizer. You could see seasoning in the batter and were very good. The blackened fish was so good. Moist, not dried out bit not undercooked. Chicken fried steak was great. Our waitress was so very good for as busy that she was. We will definately stop again.
We had gone here years ago and loved it. Sadly, this time around was a disappointment. We were compt for most of our order though since we didn't eat it. Our waitress was super nice.
I enjoyed eating here. The view and the atmosphere is very welcoming. It was very clean and comfortable. Everything on the menu seemed to be fried. Definitely a fried food place to go.
The hush puppies are simple and delicious. The shrimp taste great and fresh, a little spicy. The fish is just meh. The stuffed crab is kinda gross and soggy. Service was pretty slow and lacking. Probably wouldn't stop here again.
The catfish was terrible. First time that I ate there in a really long time, however I won't be back. We had a table of 11 people and no one enjoyed the fish. Except for my brother in law who ordered Cajun catfish
Stopped tonight on way home from Louisiana Downs. The beans were delicious. The catfish was cold and dry. Definitely was not a good experience. Not for sure will stop again. Had a party of 12 and everyone said the same.
Fried sliced jalapeños for an appetizer and it was what you’d expect, hit the spot while waiting for the meal. Got the catfish filets and fries, it came with beans and coleslaw. The salad bar wasn’t open and I wasn’t really expecting it to be with everything going on. Got some slice jalapeños for the coleslaw and it was good. The catfish was cooked perfectly and the waitress was polite and made sure everything was good.
We ordered off of the lunch menu when we went and paid for it instead of it being $8.99 like on the lunch menu it was $15. The waiter did not tell us that it was only Monday thru Thursday.
Fish was literally tasteless.coleslaw was dry. However, the worse downfall was it's expensive. A quick trip to John seafood will be preferable and alot less money.
Was not impressed for a first visit. Bathrooms were nasty. My husbandsaid there was pee everywhere in the mens. Food qas below average. Extremely bland. Dont ask for cajun seasoning it cost a dollar and rgey dont put it on the fish. Fried mushrooms were sliced from a can. Paid $4 for a baked potato that was way under cooked. We will not return. Dont see this place open much longer.
The food was ok, but nothing special. The menu is mainly catfish and there isn't wasn't vegetable items available other than coleslaw. Everything was fried food. It was easy to get to from the interstate.
The shrimp po boy was great!
But my favorite dish was the free coleslaw, which is so refreshing and crunchy.
The fish n oyster was a little bit on the dry side. Not recommended.
