Cavanaugh Flight Museum reviews
16SCAM business. Have had a gift certificate for 2 years and they won’t honor it or reimburse anything. They just keep saying they have no flying airplanes and to call back later. Total unprofessional and not trustworthy
Little known museum with a great collection of WW1 -2 bomber and fighter planes in 4 hangars. Information is on small plaques and is technical as well as mentions interesting facts.
Wonderful aviation museum with lots of static displays you can reach out and touch as well as an impressive fleet of aircraft from the past that are still flying today. Great job Cavanaugh Flight Museum… obvious labor of love!
We had a great time visiting. The kids loved it and all the hangers were kept very clean. If you love seeing old War Birds, this is the place for you.
This is a great museum and a great location. Is there a plenty of staff to answer questions. It's mostly self guided but there are plenty of people walking around that are what I wanted to tell you everything about the everything. There is a gift shop and there are restrooms. There are 4 hangers in total. Plus outside exhibits. I thought the price was very reasonable for what is here. I didn't feel it was overly crowded and we had plenty of time to get the pictures we wanted. I hadn't planned to stay as long as we did but we ended up being there about an hour and a 1/2. It was definitely worth the extra time out of our day as this was an unplanned visit.
It is a very beautiful small museum. My husband and I wanted to have our photography session there and its insane that they charge 500 per hour for photography fee and don't mention anything on their website about it. That rate is fine if it was commercial photography that takes up space but having one photographer with one camera and no tripods is simply crazy. We ended up going to another location because of that.
I didnt know this place existed. I knew there was alot of flight museums but I didn't know where. I love the history that tied to each airplane. If you love history, love airplanes, or just love flying jets.this is the place you! You can also bring your kids here to show them a great time as well. I believe there is also tours or something like where your child could get really close to the plane and touch it? I dunno you have to ask.very neat experience!
Beautiful planes took a trip here with my daughter for the weekend very interesting history.the biggest shocker was the sheer size of some of these.worth it 100% if you are thinking about going here.staff is very friendly and knowledgable +
We visited on a very hot day and it was pretty warm inside the hangers so keep that in mind if you are sensitive to the heat! Otherwise it was a great experience and a lot of history being maintained and flown!
I've been near the tarmac and have witnessed the annual fireworks display on many occasion, and this is the museum that is sourced for many of the aircraft on display (the ones in the hangers appear to be in flight-ready condition) and they are very well maintained. You will not find many of these same aircraft at the 'Frontiers of Flight Museum, ' as they are stretched across 4 major hangers in addition to the walking space in-between, and you can truly get a sense of the size of many of the aircrafts which are difficult to appreciate when looking a distance away when they are flying. This is also an active runway so you will see many private aircrafts moving in and out of the runway, which is cordoned off by chain. One of the hangers is not accessible to walk behind as it is an operating hanger which is used for working on aircraft used for air shows (as I believe many aircraft aren't just used for the Addison airport.) This is a great location if you are just interested in seeing aircraft up close, many of which were active in battle during WW2 (very rare planes in operational condition, and often too historically significant to be used in air shows.)
Cavanaugh flight museum is ab absolute must see for people with an interest in aviation they have a large number of aircraft ranging all the way from the Fokker D. 1 tri-plane made famous by the Red Baron in WW1 to a collection of MiG fighters, as well as a very sharp look F-4 Phantom. Tickets have always been very reasonable every time I've visited.
We were here for an hour and my boys are still talking about it days later. If you are an aviation enthusiast this is a nice hidden gem. Just wish they had a Red Tail on display.
It's always nice to see older aircraft still in good shape the they now have a Hinkle German bomber that they're restoring that was really cool.
Loved seeing all the planes. Giant ceiling fans in the hangers would have been great. Nice having volunteers around to answer any questions. Very fun experience!
Always interesting to read and see our war history pertaining to flight and the brave men and women who served our nation abroad.
