Cedar Hill State Park Dorba Trail reviews
15Trail conditions are iffy today. A lot of "tacky" spots that border on wet and slippery especially around corners. Had a good ride, though.
Very nice and quite State Park. We came the weekend after Veterans Day, and didn’t realize Sunday was free, which was nice. But the trails were closed due to wet conditions, so we only walked along the lake shore. So, it was fair that we didn’t have to pay) We will definitely come back when it is more dry to walk the Dorba trail.
I have walked the 12 mile loop twice and the 8 mile loop once this year. Each visit was during a different season. The area is beautiful, and the trails are an easy moderate in difficulty. My most recent visit was on a Monday morning in October, when barely any mountain bikers were pleasant. Mountain bikers have never given me any trouble, but my ears are open to the sounds of my environment rather than music, podcasts, phone calls, etc.
The trails are mostly in good shape, though the weather may be playing a role in holes, dips, and cracked ground that I encountered several times throughout the trail. I would advise people to watch their step, listen and watch for approaching cyclists, and drink plenty of liquids beforehand.
Cedar Hill State Park is another state park marked off on our Texas State Parks list!
Very clean, lots of space for families to enjoy, without being too far from the water swimming area and enough space to relax, without being disturbed by other families.
Will definitely return to enjoy for a longer stay, as Texas' "bi-polar" weather lol.made us run to our car because it started pouring down on us! (It went from bright and sunny to dark, cold, windy, rainy, thunder and lightning, and eventually small pea sized hail on our way out!)
Always a great choice for a hike.just watch out for all the bikers.thankfully they have the opposite route so you can see them coming.
We didn't go on the trail, but we did enjoy being in a different environment even though it was hot
Great trail for mountain biking. Not bad for hiking either but in some areas the trail gets pretty narrow.
I love this trail, and as long as it is open, I hike it on the weekends. Well maintained, friendly people, and a good hike.
Both times that I've been in this park, some trails were closed due to weather, bad luck I guess. Other than that, the park is clean, well maintained, there are some grills to cook your food and tables to sit and enjoy your food. Bluebonnets during the season make it look good.
It's a nice size trail, but bikes are allowed on the trails. This is disturbing to the peacefulness of nature. Also, I don't want to take my children on this trail. There are other trails for just hiking.
Three great trails with various difficulty levels and options. I've ridden 2 of them and enjoyed them both!
Challenging trail for those who don't have a decent fitness level, however it is a beautiful and fun trail to ride.
Great but as for fishing they need to trim the bushes so one can walk by the shore with out getting wet in the lake.
Great shaded areas to hike & bike but there are SOOOOO many spiders in the trees with webbing across the paths.
