14Stay away! I cancelled my procedure with Dr Maheshwari. He spent 5 minutes with me and signed me up for two procedures he didn't even discuss with me. I had to find out from the internet that i'd be put to sleep. Then I had to call them to find out they wouldn't release me to uber. Now for the last month I've been fighting insurance because they ordered a diagnostic test from a provider that wasn't in-network for my plan without informing me. So many simple, basic healthcare stuff completely missed that I wouldn't trust them to do anything.
I just called to make an appointment to get a second opinion on a serious GI diagnosis I just received last week. The receptionist refused to make me an appointment unless I was definitely going to be a new patient. I told her i might change doctors depending on the outcome of the appointment. She said “well we can only make an appointment if you will definitely be a new patient. ” She asked me to send over my medical records and then laughed at me when I asked why I would send over medical records when she wouldn’t even make me an appointment with a doctor. I’ve heard they have good doctors here, but I’ll never know.
I saw Dr. Maheshwari because I was having various symptoms and suspected I had a stomach hernia. He told me I would have to get an endoscopy done and said to take Pepcid and Aloe Vera capsules twice a day until then. I was already taking Aloe Vera capsules, but it was my first time to take Pepcid. It made me feel horrible. Instead of helping my symptoms, it made them worse. When the time came for me to have my endoscopy, Dr. Maheshwari asked if I was taking the Pepcid and Aloe. I told him how I had a negative reaction, and he basically scolded me and told me to start taking it again. After my endoscopy, he told us that I have a small hernia, and when my mom asked what I should do about it, he just reiterated what he told me before about the Pepcid. That was it. I tried to take it again, but I stopped after not even two weeks. I felt nauseous every single night, and I threw up three times within those two weeks. I called and told them, and they just gave me some medication to take like four times a day on an empty stomach, which was basically impossible with my schedule. They called me once about my biopsy results, which I missed. I called them three times after that and got sent to voicemail each time. They never called me back. I don’t recommend this place at all.
I’d give them 0 if i could. Do NOT recommend. Working with the office is nightmare. PAs have an attitude when you follow up because they didn’t send in orders or respond to prior authorizations. It takes WEEKS to get copies of medical records. Do yourself a favor and go to another practice.
My wife and I have been married for 31 years so I would say that we have been to a few doctors appointments together over the years. My wife had an appointment with Dr. Varia so I went on the appointment with her. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with smiling faces and a warm genuine welcome. The entire staff was Amazingly Awesome! Dr. Varia, Ms. Sophia, Ms. Brenda, Ms. Mandy, & Ms. Heather were very professional. We will be referring friends and family to this office.
Best Regards,
Melvin & Shauna Watson
My former doctor was Dr Ralph Pearce. He worked for this medical center for many years. He was always reliable, professional, trustworthy and knowledgeable. He started seeing me since I was 16 due to some reflux and hernia in my esophagus and keep on treating me until his retirement (I’m now 38). I was referred to Dr Clark and so far amazing! I can’t believe the high level of doctors they have and I’m super happy with my new doctor. I live abroad and they always do absolutely everything in their power so that I get seen before I have to depart the usa. Just magnificent well known doctors and friendly staff.
I was seeing Dr. Varia for approximately 1.5 years. In that period of time I felt well taken care of and respected.
My last visit was June of 2020. He sent me for blood work and I never, ever heard another thing from his office, despite repeated calls from me.
Still to this day do not know results and have moved on, but happen to run across this website and thought I would just warn people.
RUDE! RUDE! RUDE! I don’t know about Dr. Kvapil since I never made it far enough to see him. The office staff was beyond rude! Apparently it was a huge inconvenience for me to be there. They did squeeze me in for this appointment because one of the staff had originally scheduled me on a day the doctor does not even work, and then cancelled the appointment without notifying me. After waiting 6 weeks for the appointment, I called to confirm the day before, only to be told the appointment had been cancelled.
While in the office today another patron was next to me having a stern discussion with the woman behind the desk about being quoted one price and being charged another.
This is not a place I want to trust with my health.
Going in to meet Dr. Clark for 5 minutes was fine. From there the back office was a nightmare. No return phone calls or emails. Missed codes on blood work and waiting for two weeks to get them after repeatedly calling and begging. Sent to wrong place to get scans and then finally had to call repeatedly and get the Practice Manager on the phone to finally get into the results six weeks later for a follow up to life threatening emergency room visit. Her statement to me "You're clear" nothing further. Never saw Dr. Clark again after that. He might be great.idk. Now they call weeks later after I got a referral to a different doctor for a second opinion and changed it to Dr. Clark with my primary without even discussing it with me.
Nobody looks forward to this procedure but the staff at River Oaks in Conroe were amazing! The whole experience was low stress!
Dr Peter Kvapil is wonderful but the office staffs are just ok, not really professional. Definitely would recommend Dr Kvapil if you are looking for a good gastroenterologist.
Dr Maheshwari is very smart, very capable, but he has no bedside manner. I often wait an hour after my appointment before he appears. His staff gives the impression of being very efficient but heartless.
I visited Dr. Peter Kvapil. He is a very good doctor! But I can't give the clinic five stars. The communication with the office and the doctor is terrible. You can't give a call to the office and directly talk to anybody. Instead, you have to wait for several days to get a callback. Since my first visit and a couple of exams, I've been waiting for a long time but I've not been given the results of the exams and any suggestion for my treatment. I've been trying to reach the doctor or his staff but I failed. I've almost lost hope.
I just want to say that I have been back and forth with the office regarding my father, and trying to get an order for an EGD, Carla has been extremely helpful, patient, and so kind. My father was seen as an inpatient earlier this week and needs a repeat test. Insurance is an HMO and it's just been crazy with everything I had to do to get this all figured out. It if it wasn't for Carla, this would not have been handled in a timely manner. I cant wait for my Dad to meet Dr. Maheshwari next week! Thank you so very much to Carla and Penny for working on this for us! So greatful!
