UPDATE: the billing team has re-billed my insurance and the claim has been approved with a reasonable balance due. I’m still waiting them to re-bill my $350 blood work claim which was denied but was needed last minute in order to prepare for the surgery.

When it comes to he quality of care, doctor and nurse professionalism, this is by far the best experience I’ve had in US and I lived in major metropolitan areas. From that perspective it is a 5-star facility but their billing department needs to focus on improving their process and having priorities in the right place. My complaint was addressed not because I called and left a message but because I originally gave them 1-star review. While it got their attention, I wish the phone call and voice mail would have been sufficient.

Billing requires some prep work on your part, make sure you document who you speak with (full name), date and time and what was discussed in case you run into post op billing issues. Also, Texas has no surplus medical billing laws so they are not allowed to bill you for the difference between original cost and insurance contracted fee + your co-pay/co-insurance %. You can find your rights by simply googling them.

ORIGINAL REVIEW: -10 stars to their billing department. Before my 3/21/23 surgery, they checked the procedure against my insurance coverage and told me it was covered and gave me an estimated cost which I paid at check in on the day of surgery. Today, 3/30/23 my insurance denied the surgery claim and looks like I might be stuck with over $17,000 cost. Their billing department appears to have used incorrect billing codes, at least not the same ones that were used to estimate the cost of surgery. Unfortunately I will never know because no one ever answers the phone and there’s no email address. Lastly, IF you’re the surgery center representative please DONOT tell me to call you. How about you call me back. You have my full name and the date of surgery, look up my patient file and fix the issue. I expect this to go to court if not fixed in the next 30 days.

The pre-op and post-op experience was really good and the nurses are great. However, the stress of this including heart palpitations and high blood pressure after a surgery while recovering is not worth it.
