I would highly recommend this rehabilitation hospital for anyone looking for the right one! The staff was very friendly and took care of my grandfather, who was recovering from a stroke. The nursing department was exceptional, they were very diligent workers. They gave us the the best care and assisted with all of our needs. The therapy department was amazing they helped a lot with his cognitive skills, making my grandfather think he was 25 again! On a more serious note I would chose this rehab hospital over any other in Austin area.

Great facility. Wonderful PT, so extremely beneficial! Left feeling much more confident and stronger. Food is great! Nurses are wonderful! But, unfortunately, I found that there’s quite a bit of chaos, particularly with case management and obtaining proper medical equipment upon departure. My insurance is a pain to deal with and my case manager at Central Texas Rehab failed to properly communicate with my insurance company for a walker. So, we fumbled around and got a walker, but obtaining it was quite ridiculous. I just feel sorry for elderly folks who don’t have the wherewithal or family to deal with such inconveniences. I came home with a janky second hand walker and initially had quite a wipe out at home before i got the hang of it. Pretty silly. But not cool for someone more vulnerable. This is my honest opinion. But was a great experience for me otherwise! Helped me tremendously! Super grateful i was able to go there for a week. Seems they have some issues at top. Little micro resentments in staff, front desk is off putting. But, yeah I really wasn’t concerned with those issues. Just hook up with case manager and make sure they help you properly!

Worst place EVER! I wouldn’t recommend it to my worst enemy. The neglect at this place is unconscionable. Shame on them.

Visiting hours limited to ‘caregivers’ which are still visitors. 12pm- 6pm if the security guard doesn’t like you.

The staff here is awesome. My fiancé is a patient at Central Texas Rehabilitation.
I'm really impressed with the kindness of these employees Ashely, Yolanda, Meeka, Sherri, also the security guard Robert. Thank you all for everything

I was at this hospital for about two weeks. Initially, I just thought it was a terrible place, but when I paid closer attention, I realized that the problem is at the top. The therapists and most nurses are efficient, caring people. Rules are designed without thinking of the patient-only management.

* Visiting hours are arbitrary (none on Monday) and are not convenient for the patient or patient's visitors. Flowers are not allowed.
* When it was time for me to leave, my designated helper/friend was not allowed to come to my room to help gather my things because it was not yet visiting time. NO consideration for the patient, and no common sense to know when rules should not be enforced.
* Doctors visit rarely and seem to listen, but there is no follow-up. I asked one doctor about a medicine I had been taking in the hospital. He said he would "think on it" and I never heard from him again.
* I asked one of the doctors to be sure my information was being sent to my family physician. She told me to have the doctor request it. It should have been automatic with them. They put the burden on the patient.
* On Christmas Day, the entire place was freezing cold. Nurses and patients were huddling in hoodies and jackets and no one would/could do anything about it. It took some ingenuity and a well-placed telephone call to correct it.

I genuinely feel sorry for many of the nurse who work hard and really care, but have little management support. It would take only a little care and concern from the top to create happier staff and a better patient experience.

Follow-up:
I heard from the rehab hospital and they asked me to discuss this matter with them. I agreed but never heard from them again.

Thank you for the love and compassion. Nursing and case manager cares for my health. They have a really good management team that cares with their engagement and hot coco on a cold Monday. I get to see my family just in time for Christmas. Thank you to CTRH family.

My father came to this hospital after a major surgery. Good place with a good heart. They care for you and care for your family in time of needs and in a middle of a pandemic. They listen to you and care for your well being.

Good staff that are caring. My dad recover from a spinal cord injury.they care for him and help him get back on his feet. The therapy team care a lot for my dad. The training for my sister on discharge was really good and they communicated very well to my sister about his need.

I would like to thank the whole PT & OT Rehab Dept. This is my third time at this hospital rehab center, and I have been to many other rehab center not one of them compare to CTRH. The Staff-Lana, Meg, Kristi, Tammy, Lisa, Elle, Sarah, Carolyn, Anuja, and others. Sorry I did not mention, every PT and oT was kind, fun strict, knowledgable and very helpful to both my Knees and shoulder, and was very helpful to my mental mood. Can't say enough. This Department need a margarita party! Thank to All. You're the best.

I am very happy with the rehab hospital. They are great at what they do. I am happy that they focus on only rehab. The team is wonderful and caring. I remember when there was no rehab but now they can do a lot more for me.

Great hospital. They listen to me and talked to my care giver. Give me great therapy sessions. Talked to my brother and work with my care giver to get me home after my spinal injury from construction. Tommy and Linda help my brother to give me good care.

My husband had recently stayed here for 2 weeks. The visiting hours were horrible, I understand the covid19 restrictions but as many issues as we had here I was wanting to stay longer. They had no chair for me to sit in when it was my day to visit. Another day when I had a visit the dang nurses were doing a tik tok right up the hall way while the patients were ringing their bells. The food he had to eat was HORRIBLE. The psychologist called my husband ignorant and a few days later got into a pretty big verbal argument. I'm sorry but someone that had a TBI or really ANYONE for you to be a doctor you should NOT call anyone ignorant. Then discharge day comes around and I was told by multiple different doctors and his case manager that he would be discharged at 9: 30, I get there at 9: 15 and they said they don't discharge until 11. It was just one thing after another.

I was there after my stroke for rehabilitation, the staff that took care of me was fantastic. They worked me hard so that I could regain control of my motoring skills to walk and speak and some use of my left arm. Because at the time of my stroke no one thought I would be able to walk again. Again great staff.

I had a Fantastic experience at Central Texas Rehabilitation Hospital. The whole staff is seriously dedicated on improving your quality of life. I was only there 10 days and they had me walking again. I thought I was broken and would never be whole again. The Dr. ’s. Seriously listen to you and resolved ALL my health concerns. The Physical and Occupational Therapists are Top of the Line-thank you to Rachel, Meg and Elle! My Respiratory Therapist Dina knows what she’s doing and wants you to have a better quality of life. Jami my Tech went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed including comic relief. If you are looking for The Best of the BEST in REHABILITATION- Look no further. You have found it!
