Central Texas Style BBQ, Pearland TX

No disrespect but this was the worst food I have ever had. If you want real smoked meat this is not your place. The place was very clean and service was great. My husband and I were very disappointed in our dinner.

Came for the first time at the recommendation of the TV show “YOLO Texas”. We arrived at around 1: 45 and as you might imagine seating was easy at that time. They have a nice selection of BBQ, sides and deserts. I got the brisket plate with 2 sides. I found the brisket flavorful but dry, the pinto beans were good and I enjoyed the broccoli cheese rice. My wife’s banana pudding is probably the best I’ve ever had. The decor is full of history and I really enjoyed the old feel of the place and their music selection.

Cute decor, a lot to look at, but did not come to look around. The person sitting by the BACK DOOR, where the entrance was, asked if it was our first time there, then told us to go right then left. When we ordered, we were asked if we wanted onions, pickles, and Bar B Q sauce.we said yes but had no idea the sauce was poured over the meat, and I did not care for sauce it was more Carolina than Texas, meaning it was very vinegar forward. The sausage was just ok, no great taste, I have had better from the store, much less a restaurant around for years. The pork ribs that I was so excited to eat really disappointed me they did taste ok if a little dry (even if swimming in sauce), not a lot of meat and some gristle, I ate 1 gave one away and took 2 to go. The potato salad was nice if a little tangy, could benefit with just a scoch more mayonnaise, but I did love the bites of olive I got. The deviled eggs were a wonderful surprise to be offered as a side, again, very good but could have used some more mayonnaise. My VERY FAVORITE part of the meal was my banana pudding. I grew up in Texas, and when I was young, we had family reunions in family cemeteries in the middle of nowhere (don't judge, it happened back when), but all the grandmother's made a lot of the food, especially the desserts and this was my Nana Mabry's pudding. I would run there on bare feet for this pudding! They do give you a ton of food for the price.

Been a while since we have been there. Ordered two Diana plates one beef other beef and ribs the meat was cold and the side of corn also cold. I hope they can get this solved. Were there with bible group around 4pm on 09/12/2023
Years ago this was the best in town that was then now they have a lot of work to do

Our family loves this place! The food is delicious, the people treat you like family and the atmosphere is a wonderful experience with nostalgia, antiques and great music!

Not a real flashing of exterior but wow was this food delicious. Our party tried 4 different types of meats and it each dish had a great flavor and portions were very generous. Highly recommend.

The wife and I have BBQ every Thursday since covid. We had settled on Pappas until we moved. Have tried 4 others so far, including Killens (meh), and this is BY FAR the best we've had. Price wise, and portion wise. The only thing I'd change, is the sauce.

Quiant place. My dad loves the Cuban flair with a few dishes. Dishes we had were average. Not the way I like my meat prepared but someone else may like it fine. Sweet potatoes were good. Pudding was ok.

Long time customer, still miss the previous ownwer as the place was phenomenal at the time. Still decent for the price and they're on top to fix things right after rush mess-ups.

Extremely Disappointed on Sunday that we drove 40 minutes each way and we get there and they have a sign on the building that they are closed for maintenance. I checked the website before we left and nothing said they were closed.: (

Food was Nasty! NO flavor! Bbq sauce its just like water when I pour it on my sandwich made it soggy! Never again

It’s been years since I been over here. I don’t remember the food tasting like this. Ribs were tough. Bbq sauce watery. Brisket dry.

Is mayonnaise too spicy for you? Then this is the barbecue for you! We've tried this place twice, thinking the first time might have been an off night. The food is just terrible. The pulled pork tastes like its been boiled or cooked in a crockpot without any spice. Not even a hint of smoke flavor. The pork ribs are cooked ok, but again, no flavor. Green beans were obviously from a can and tasted like it. The pinto beans were bland. The mac n cheese was super watered down Velveeta. How do you mess up mac n cheese? It was so bad the dog passed. Even the bbq sauce is bland.
I'm not sure where all the raving reviews came from, but if you have any tolerance for salt and pepper, go somewhere else!

The only good thing was the broccoli cheese and rice. The brisket was totally dry, the ribs were to dark and dry. The sausage tastes like store bought no tast of smoke and the chicken laughs. The 115.00 and change I could have kept in my pocket. I will never eat from this place again. I was there on the 4th of July that was probably the reason but you only get one chance. If I could give no stars I would.

It’s not complicated! A half baked potato with extra cheese n sour cream. Chopped brisket on the side. I get ZERO cheese ZERO sour cream and a diarrhea blob of CHOPPED BEEF on my potato! So tired of such a simplistic order that I had the girl REPEAT back to me be wrong when I got home after pick up. Do I need to rummage through the bag and check before I leave? This was a simple order. Upset because this is NOT the first time! You guys need to get it together!

For 25+ years we have enjoyed Central Texas for delicious BBQ, for celebrations in the back room, and for catering events! The people are just so downhome and welcoming. The atmosphere is vintage and feels like you're at home. The specials are such a bargain during the week. And the banana pudding is heaven!

The sides I tasted were a bit under flavored. The BBQ sauce wasn't the best but it was ok. The only thing worth anything was the BBQ ribs. They were tender and had a decent taste. Kids raved about the ham and ate all their mac
