We brought one of our beloved guinea pigs in when it was clear she was having issues. The vets and techs were so amazingly kind and understanding. Sadly, that sweet pig had terminal issues, but our experience was outstanding. We brought her sister in to reassure ourselves that she was okay, and the vet and tech spent at least 30 minutes making sure everything was okay and answering all my children's questions.

Finding a good vet is hard, finding a great vet like this that also does "exotics" like guinea pigs is even more rare.

A special and heartfelt thanks to Dr's Antalffy and Shehan for doing everything in their power to save our beloved and beautiful dog Walker. We will miss him forever but we're so grateful to these doctors and team for their professional and compassionate care while he was there.

When my my Doxie ate an inedible object I called them to bring him by so he could get meds to make him vomit. The receptionist was unfriendly and told me that my dog is not high priority and will have to wait for 5-6 hour. He would not be able to even see a vet tech to induce vomiting. (There is roughly a 1hr window to make a dog vomit before the object travels into the intestines). She didnt check with anyone or ask a vet tech or doctor. SOO I took my dog to a different emergency vet which also had hour long wait but their staff was great! A vet tech took him back immediately and already started him on meds to get the sock out and avoid surgery. All that while we were waiting for our turn to see the doc.

Staff were courteous and prompt. They saw us quickly after we arrived. They provided us with plenty of options for treatment. They are on the pricey side so take that into consideration (this is in no way against the hospital just for information sake)

I drove my cousin to this “specialist” Wednesday morning. We were told to come very early as shift change was at 7am so in order not to have to wait 2 hours we should be there well before 7am. We arrived at 6: 20 and were the only car in the parking lot, we were put in a room right away then we were told shift change was at 6: 30 am and we would be waiting for an hour or two. WE LEFT HOME BEFORE 5am to avoid this very thing SO FRUSTRATING but ok
Finally we are seen after 9 am… my cousins Dog was not able to urinate on his own had been in the Hospital in our home town for a few days had been given several catheters and ultrasounds and told he most likely had an enlarged prostate… this is why we decided to bring him Here to THE SPECIALIST” … pfff some specialist they did exactly the same exams the exact same ultrasounds and catheter to drain his bladder and then told us they recommended euthanizing her pet! We decided we were not doing it there and went to the car… as I set there thinking about all the events and watching my cousin fall apart thinking her beloved pet had no hope I decided we were not going to give up without finding a REAL SPECIALIST WILLING TO DIG DEEPER AND FIND OUT THE REAL PROBLEM … I called A&M they recommended the vet we had just seen who was unwilling to look deeper … (I will be calling A&M back so they don’t make the same recommendation any more) then I called two more specialist who pointed us to PET SPECIALIST OF AUSTIN” and I am very pleased to say they had a team of specialists like no other and they have found the root of Lucky Dogs problem and have come up with a plan of action that gives hope he will make a full recovery and live many more years! Thank God we didn’t let these incompetent people that call themselves specialists Euthanize our LuckyDog! Maybe you thought we couldn’t afford the cost I don’t know but either way SHAME ON CENTRAL TEXAS SPECIALIST OF ROUND ROCK TX

The staff is good but they are obsessed with forcing Round Rock customers to go to South Austin. It is ridiculous and extememely inconvient. I don't know why there is a Round Rock office. If driving to South Austin is a pain for you, find another vet. Also the vet tech who worked Sunday 6/18/2023 told me the South Austin office was right off of I35, this is not true, don't believe that nonsense.
Other than that, it looks like they did a good job with my puppy and they were honest and refunded my over payment.

Helped us make a very difficult decision on letting go of our dear cat companion. Allowed us lots of time with him to say goodbye, and we never felt rushed. Helped us make arrangements for cremation. Thank you so much for making such a hard part of our life as easy as possible.

Absolutely amazing staff, even though a scary situation for us, it was a great experience. They are very through with questions and helped us understand options. Everyone was very accommodating with our dog and us. I highly recommend this clinic!

Please go to Thrive 24 hours emergency vet. They are lower cost but more importantly, the care and compassion along the extended professionalism trumps this place!

Here is my review: Still in dis-belief the people this place employs. I lost my rescue baby of 7 years. I have no friends and no family in Texas. I just had my Juliet. She went everywhere with me and she passed in my backseat yesterday. I had to call 311 and ask what do I do?

When I arrived they told me they was sending someone out to me. I guess I called the other location. After mourning over my dog, I didn't want to rush them but a thunderstorm was getting closer. So I call back and the lady says they couldn't find me. So naturally I'm upset that nobody called me back to say so. Then I'm passed to the correct location. Well 2 females step outside the well litt parking lot and looked around then went back in. Then I get a call. The 1st female is explaining she didn't see my big 3500 dually and 32ft gooseneck trailer as the only truck and trailer there. The the 2nd female took over and said they seen me but didn't want to come to me because the parking lot was not well lit. Remind you the sun was just going down and the lights was still turning on when I left. It was not dark.

They then wanted me to drive to the door but as explained, they would have no way to access my tail gate with my trailer hitched.

I went to Thrive and wow! Their parking lot was dark but the lady came out to meet me. They did most of my paperwork over the phone. They carried my baby onto a bed cart so carefully. They was so supportive.

The point is, if your scared to step outside into your parking lot to do your job, then why should anyone come here? If your scared then why shouldn't anyone else be scared and avoid your location? Secondly, you all seem to view your job as just that. If you took pride in what you do, then your heart would go out to those who bring there fur babies in on a truck bed to be cremated. You should drop the high school dumb blonde girl act and create a way resolve the situation. Like get a male figure to walk with you. It could be the porter. If you dislike your job then quit. Thrive was great because they are passionate about what they do. That place was full of love and passion. I felt it. You both need to be fired and the Austin receptionist needs to learn that it's not okay to not call someone back when a tragedy has taken place and they can't be found in that parking lot.

Please avoid this place. Go to Thrive please!

This was my second visit to CTVSEH. And once again I am very pleased with the overall experience. All the staff I came into contact with were very friendly. The park space in the back came in handy for the long emergency wait time. When I have a pet emergency this is where I will return! Thank you guys!

My dog was having bad coughing and a hard time breathing one night so I took him in. They did take a bit long to take him back but when they did he was examined well. Dr. Simmonds explained to me exactly what was happening and gave me multiple options of how to help him. She gave me a moment to think it over and reassured me that no option was wrong and she would support whatever I decided. Unfortunately, that was putting him to sleep. I did not feel judged for making that choice at all and Dr. Simmonds was kind and allowed me to spend as much time with him as I needed. When it was time she didn’t rush it and was very comforting. I am very grateful I didn’t prolong his suffering and brought him in when I did.

The staff are always kind and responsive to calls and getting back to me as needed. It's relatively easy to get in for appointments, especially if it's a more serious need they'll often try to fit us in. I've had great visits with several doctors on the team and trust them to care for my little pup.

The doctors and therapists at CTVSH have given us extraordinary care for our mini schnauzer. She has complex issues and they are genuinely concerned about her and work together to help her live her best life. Thank you!

My sweet girl got bit by a rattlesnake a little over two weeks ago and CTVSH took amazing care of her! It was Memorial Day so our nearest vet was closed. I called CTVSH and they told me to bring her right in. We rushed her in and they took her in immediately (snake bites are top priority). I was devastated but they made the experience as positive as they could. She ended up staying two nights and two days and CTVSH gave me updates twice a day! I was able to visit her and spend time with her alone. She ended up requiring two doses of antivenin and she pushed through! She looked awful and I was so scared to bring her home, still looking rough (but acting normal), but they gave me detailed instructions and medication that would help. It’s now been 2.5 weeks after and she’s healing so well! Thank you CTVSH for everything!

Wish I didn’t even have to leave a star here! They completely mixed my dog and another dog chart up had this been human medical information imagine hippa would definitely be an issue here! But that’s just the smaller issue our dog was rushed for emergency abdominal surgery thankfully everything went smoothly with her, I called a day later requesting antibiotics so much was going on with this huge surgery it slip my mind to ask I was trying to remember all the take home instructions & meds I was sent home with. I was given a return call back with a back office manger who clearly from the start of our ph call convo didn’t sound like she was having a great day she rudely said no antibiotics where needed in this case. I reminded her how my dog was just sent home from being sliced open from her abdomen. Why would she not need any antibiotics? I wanted to be educated on why I would not need something like this. She goes on with telling me how I need to remember how my dogs life was saved because of them. I reminded the “sweet lady”she didn’t save my dogs life out of the kindness of her heart. It was only saved because I was hounded for over $6000 that I immediately dropped for my dog. So a favor was never given to me as she made it sound like. I couldn’t believe the response I hung up and will make sure I tell anyone I know about this horrible le experience

Refused to see my emergency case. Due to staffing. Call to see if they have time for your sick pet. Update: our vet office called to verify the severity of my pets illness and we were allowed to be seen. Diagnosis was pancreatitis and a multi day hospital stay.

Making the decision to let my fur baby of 11 years go was the hardest decision I've made in a while, but I’m so grateful I chose Central TX Vet Hospital to help me say goodbye.

On his last day, he was declining so quickly I had to call them to make sure I could be seen. As I feared he wouldn’t make it many more hours. Every person I came into contact with at this place was kind, compassionate, and clear with what would happen. They let me have as much time as I wanted with him and was gentle through everything.

The experience of losing a pet is heartbreaking no matter what, thank yall truly with helping me through such a difficult time.

It has taken me a minute to write this review. To make a long sad story very short:

Our beloved family member, Lily, our gentle, sweet, gregarious Rottweiler - who I have always called a manatee in a dog's body - became very ill very quickly. Her condition worsened, and we were faced with a tough decision.

There was a scheduled ultrasound the next morning, but she needed immediate care.

We called CTVE immediately and asked them how long the wait would be, what the charge would be, and what we could expect. We had to call a couple of times because the information kept changing. Each time, they were kind, caring, patient, and really helpful.

Lily died in the car on the way to the vet. It was a terrible situation, and by the time we arrived at the vet, all of us were crying, inconsolable, and not at all sure what to do.

My son, God bless him, went in, and told them what had happened. Again, they were kind, loving, and reassuring. There were decisions to make, and they were very clear in their presentation.

We wanted to have her cremated and to have a memorial, and they said it all up for us and made it so easy. They gave us time with her to grieve and say goodbye. I blessed her body and sent her to be with her maker by the rainbow bridge.

Three very kind women came out and helped us load this massive dog onto a gurney. They gave us her belongings and allowed us one last goodbye, as they told us how sorry they were and how they could see what she had meant to us. I am forever indebted for the peace they imparted to my son.

A few days later, imagine my surprise when we received a lovely note of condolence about Lily. It was such a thoughtful thing to do, and we were all touched upon reading it.

They made something that was tragic and difficult and really terrible, a little more gentle, compassionate, and again, kind. Which is just how the world should be.

I hope we don't have any emergencies like that ever again, but if we do, I know where I'm headed. I thank you all so much for your delicate care of Lily - and of us.

As much as you can love a place that kills your dog, by request, this place was fantastic! The staff here is really nice and the vets are superb. I will definitely use them in the future and recommend them for any and all animal services.

Thank you CTVSE in Round Rock. Noticed my cats bottom jaw was swollen and took him in after 11: 30pm.

The front desk techs were kind, caring and very professional. We were seen within 15 min.

The Vet checked over our cat and we were relieved to find it was just an allergic reaction to some possible bug bite.

CTVSE did not try to over charge for anything and we were in and out in little over an hour.

After the fact I realize that this was not an emergency but the staff still treated it as if it was which put my mind at ease. My cat is my life after all.

I would trust them again with any of my fur babies and would recommend them to everyone.
