I didn't know what a salt flat was before going and was honestly disappointed. It was flat with no shade (it was over 100) and no wildlife. It is a natural area and is kept clean so they've made very few changes in order to keep it that way.

Trail is open.
All the way to Leonabelle Turnbull Birding Center. 1.5 miles one way.

If you want a beautiful backdrop for a moment like this, then head to Charlies Pasture! It is a nature reserve, and bike/hike trail as well. The fishing is great, and youll have plenty of wonderful memories.
