Children's Lighthouse of San Antonio - Stone Oak

We love the Children's Lighthouse at Stone Oak! As a military family we have used numerous child care centers (including the Child Development Center on base) and Children's Lighthouse is the best experience we have had. Excellent & responsible staff who care as much about our kids as we do with a top notch facility & location. Both of our kids love being there as well which makes drop offs a breeze. If you are looking for child care at a safe location, caring staff, excellent curriculum then this location will far exceed your expectations. I can't recommend them enough!

The team at Stone Oak is wonderful. They are like family to our kiddos and we appreciate all the time and energy they put into making everyday and experience for our growing children. Thank you for doing all you do!

Children’s lighthouse has been a great after school daycare. Friendly staff. Easy to work with. My son had lots of fun. Would recommend.

CLLC has been a blessing for my family. From the kind and welcoming front desk to the patient and diligent classroom caretakers, almost everyone I have encountered works professionally to care for the needs of my child and family as a whole. I think it is important for any parent to vet any institution before sending their child there, and I can whole-heartedly say CLLC can be a great place for many.

I appreciate the camera access to the classroom and attention to my child's needs from the staff above all else. I enjoy the daily updates keeping me informed on my child's day-to-day. There have been instances where I felt the need to address some issues like proper hand-washing but the issues were temporary. When concerned, I have always been met with respect and understanding by Brandi and Julie, the director and assistant director, respectively.

There are some general areas I believe could be improved:
- recycling (avoiding styrofoam, recycling plates, cups, utensils etc.) teaching the importance of resourcefulness and climate impact
- thoroughly cleaning classrooms (mainly toys, tables, chairs, nap-cots, sink areas) teaching the importance of cleanliness and good hygiene
- offering healthier food options (attention to ingredients such as sugars and artificial ingredients, organic and locally-sourced, avoiding preservatives) teaching the importance of eating healthy

I am not blind to the higher costs that would entail, but perhaps those are issues the organization and community can work on together.

Overall, I feel blessed and am extremely grateful to everything CLLC does to help my little one learn and grow.

Great experience for the kids to interact and work on there social skills with eachother. They also get to do homework and have fun!

We love the care given to Gabe at the children’s lighthouse. The staff are great and Gabe loves the activities on-site as well as the summer field trips

Loved the summer camp at Lighthouse for my kiddo. They have an option to go part time (Mon/wed/Friday) or (Tuesday and Thursday) that was great as I wanted my kid to have fun for feild trip and to burn some energy with his friends at their summer camp.

My son has been enrolled at Childrens Lighthouse for over 3 years. There are several activities throughout the day and the curriculum is great. I’ve been incredibly pleased with how much my son has learned and grown! You can tell the staff really care about each child as well as their families.

I wish I could give this place 5 stars, but I can't. My granddaughter attended here 2 years. She started out in the 3yr room, and even though it was hard for her, her teacher was very loving. She was really starting to like it, but her teacher left at the end of the calendar year. From then on, it was a struggle for my daughter to get her there without tears. Instead of consoling her, she was told to "dry it up". Going into the 4 yr old room and pre-K, we had high hopes that it would be different. I would occasionally drop her off. Rarely was she greeted by her teachers. Usually, the children were sitting on the rug, doing nothing. I was shocked at the lack of enthusiasm, interest in the children and overall "Warm and fuzziness" by the teachers. Either our expectations are much higher than others, or they aren't telling you how it really is. I had a home daycare for over 13 years. The children were always excited to be at my house.

My daughter loves going to the after school program at Children’s Lighthouse! The teachers are very caring, and they have fun with the kids!

Children's lighthouse has been awesome working with us around several issues that sometimes arise with our child. It is always greatly appreciated with the wife's and my work schedules.

I was reccomended CLH by a family member and everyone is so professional and welcoming. Miss Brandi and Miss Julie know everybody's names and will accommodate your child however they can. The teacher's are well trained and I can tell they love the kiddos. My almost 3yo son has been attending for almost a year and he can count to ten, sings the alphabet, and other songs as well as learns numerous life skills. I can tell he has become more confident in himself since he has started here.

I have had all of my 3 younger kids here! Can’t say enough great things about the staff and their leadership! Truly a great place!

My toddler has learnt many things and has improved immensely over the last 4-5 months, he also sings. This is his first time in daycare and I was concerned about him getting along with his teachers as it is a sudden change for him. I really appreciate all his teachers for being patient with him and helping him being social and independent. It helped him reach all his 2 year milestones. Looking forward to seeing more of skills getting improved in the future. A big thank you to all the staff supporting his growth

Absolutely wonderful care facility for our precious children. We’ve been attending lighthouse for over 2 years now and we have had nothing but the best from every teacher and administrators. HIGHLY recommend!
