If I could leave zero stars, I would. My late sister used Dr. Schraaps for her weight loss surgery. She never recovered and ultimately passed as a result of her rapid decline post-op. My sister frequently expressed to Dr. Schraaps that she was having severe issues with eating anything; even with drinking water. Dr. Schraaps was very dismissive of any concern she voiced. She was forced to go to urgent care multiple times a month to receive fluids because she was so dehydrated. Dr. Schraaps only considered doing anything to help her after she had been admitted to ICU and was not healthy enough to undergo the simple procedure he could have performed months before. While my sister was in ICU, there was supposed to be a nurse on constant watch of her. I vividly remember looking up to the post where the nurse should have been; there was no one there. I asked another nurse where the woman that was supposed to be monitoring my sister had gone, and why there was no one in her place. They informed me that the monitoring nurse “went to get food” and walked away from me. She passed later that day. The nursing staff in ICU was completely unprofessional and there were far more red flags during the time I was there with my sister in her last days. I highly discourage anyone from using Dr. Schraaps’s services and from using any services provided by his organization. The devastation caused by the loss of my sister has altered mine and my family’s lives completely. If you are thinking about using Dr. Schraaps, please, I implore you to reconsider.

The experience with the bariatric team has been great. I used Dr. Schraaps for my surgery. His office staff a so nice and helpful. I never have much of a wait even if I show up for an appointment early. Jessica was my office contact organizing everything for surgery and working with my insurance. She is super knowledgeable. This weight loss journey is going great and I appreciate this team for all their help and support.

Staff is super friendly and helpful. Jenny, the dietitian is very helpful and always available. She has always returned my messages and answered all my questions. Very encouraging!

Dr. Schrapps and the staff at Christus Southeast Texas Bariatric Center have been top notch! Each employee is a joy to work with, Jessica gets things moving quickly and efficiently for you, and Jennifer is the BEST with nutrition. I can't say enough good things about my sessions with Jennifer - she definitely sets you up for success through the whole process! It's a great choice for local bariatric surgery!

So thankful for EVERY office staff member at Christus Baratric. I was expecting delays/complications since I live 4 hours away.but no!
They all went above and beyond to coordinate and fit as much into my preoperative visits as possible to expedite the process!
My visits with Jennifer (dietitian) post-operative have also been encouraging and so helpful! She takes the time to teach and explore what works for you! It's obvious she loves her job, and her patients benefit from her care and knowledge.

Dr. Schrapps and the ladies here are wonderful, and will go out of their way to get you everything you need.

Dr. Schrapps, Jennifer, and the entire office staff are very friendly and helpful with any and all questions that are asked. The whole process from start to finish is extremely streamlined, like a well oiled machine. I’m sooooo glad I made the decision to have the sleeve! I would definitely recommend it!
