Tex-Mex Restaurant Chuy's reviews
16I took my friend and her boyfriend there for her birthday. I used to go all the time before covid. Their menu isn't as large as I remember it. I always liked the chips and salsa there. The salsa is basically Pico di Gallo with extra liquid. The chips are thin and salt. Yum. I tried new sauces on my enchiladas and that was a mistake. I should of stayed with original ones that I knew I liked. The server brought multiple sauces to be tried with the giant burrito because he couldn't decide which he wanted smothered on top. He liked the hatch green Chile one the best. The steak fajitas were tender and seasoned well. Frozen margaritas for $10. It was all good just not as good as other places. Not for the price anyways. But it's a fun place. Each room has kind of a different theme. It's a fun place to go with family and friends. But if I go somewhere by myself for food I probably won't go there unless it's just more convenient.
It wasn't busy at all, I sat at the bar and watched waitresses sticking straws in drinks they made and tasted the different drinks. I watched one shake two drinks in shakers and took the top off the shaker and stuck her finger in it to taste it and then took the drinks to the customers
Came out for my ol lady's birthday and had Griff as a server, he is AMAZING! HIGHLY recommend going to see he kept us entertained and was in top of service the entire night! Definitely made the entire experience!
Service was fast and friendly with such tasty food. I had the big burrito with Boom Boom sauce. Absolutely delicious
Best chicken ever. I don't know how they do it, but the chicken flautas are insanely good.
Great experience in ambience, great food with excellent service, kind enough to make our menu with suggestion and custom made, strongly suggest to visit, don't forget to taste the tres leches its mermarising fresh
Good food.
Very busy on a Friday night. It took our server 20 minutes to give us our check so we were late on our movie!
Very crowded and loud.
Hadn't been here in a while but love their food and especially their sauces. My favs are the boom boom spicy queso and their smoky hatch green chile sauce. Totally yummy. We tried the flautas and omg they were crispy and flaky filled with a delicious chicken filling, just perfect. They are doing their happy hour now with 3 diff kinds of specialty quesos served with chips for just 5 bucks each. Umm yes please. I wish their drinks were better priced for happy hour but the food more than made up for it. Service was a bit slow but polite. So a good experience overall. Can't wait to go back.
My bookclub met in Chuy's private room. The food was excellent. Tex-Mex restaurants in the Dallas area are prevalent and menus don't differ that much, which is why I gave Chuy's 4 stars. The food is very good but the menu is what you would expect with one exception. Their Tres Leches cake is unique and delicious. I am not dessert lover, nor do I like overly sweet food but this concoction had the perfect amount of sweetness. The portion size was large but that could have been because it was made for a group and the hostess ordered a half sheet cake. Service was outstanding. From the greeting at the door to the acknowledgment when you left, they seemed to appreciate your business. Good place for a small group gathering (the private room held 15), a family meal or date night for couples. They have a separate bar area that also serves food. Attire is very casual. Decor is an eclectic mix of that rural, pseudo Mexican look typical of Tex-Mex restaurants everywhere.
Great service was friendly and enjoyable. The food was bland and near flavorless. Maybe that is why people like it?
One of our favorite Tex Mex restaurants. Great chips and salsa, especially if you opt to dip in their jalapeño ranch sauce. Tasty enchiladas, but my favorite is their "Chuychanga" with the boom-boom sauce and a side of the jalapeño ranch to pour on top.
I love Chuy's. We go there all the time. Something was not right though the last time I was there. Woke up violently sick that night. It was definitely food poison.
Service was excellent she was kind, friendly, professional & fun! She really made us feel special
I have been coming here for years, and it is one of our favorites, but the most recent takeout order was really slow for some reason.
Might be a low staff issue, hopefully the food is not cold by the time I get home.
We are going to try again this weekend, and I will upgrade to five stars or downgrade to three stars, we will see!
Creamy jalapeño is the best thing in life haha! Also has soft chicken tacos and they were delish! New Mexican martini is
Busy place, great food served piping hot and good service. The manager runs a tight ship and does tend to lead with example as he was also serving on the floor while also running into the kitchen to bring out the food! Highly recommend!
