City of Port Aransas reviews
5Just returned after 40 years to visit this location with my dad and my 10 year old son for Father's Day weekend 2022. Visited the Port Aransas beach and walked for 30 min to return to a $75 parking ticket on my windshield. Although I must admit I did not see the small sign entering the beach due to a line of traffic rushing me in, I did see it when I left with the ticket. So upset with myself and I also see this as Port Aransas's method to jerk citizens around from having a good time at a public beach. Thanks Port Aransas for ruining my good memories of this beach with my dad. Will not be returning. And, btw I have spent tons of $$ on hotels, dining and other items.
City loves to give out tickets even if you have a beach parking permit. Display exactly on the windshield or you will be fined 70 bucks! Asked the judge to dismiss this and they cut the fine in half. Will never spend another dime in this armpit of Texas again.
The beach is gorgeous and I would have loved to go back but after being given a ticket even though we purchased the beach pass AND had it displayed on our vehicle we will NEVER go back. The city refused to dismiss the ticket even though we sent proof that we purchased the permit before the ticket was written. We will put our money in other area beaches from now on. It's a shame because we truly were enjoying the beach before the bogus ticket.
I love Port A it is Paradise to me but i have one complaint these people don't believe in social distancing and when I say these people I mean the people than run the Jetty Boat on the way out to St. Joseph's Island there was maybe 15 people out of those 15 only 4 had mask on and on the way back they put 25 people on the boat and they just crammed everybody on the boat and only a few with mask on again that's no good.
I love this Island, the locals are very laid back, the beach is a blast, there is a big public pool with water slides for the kids, and if you are looking for breakfast you have to try Coaches Grill, it’s family oriented, great service, and absolutely THE BEST PANCAKES YOU WILL EVER HAVE!
